If you want to destroy PotD and break game pick Wizard (no-subclass) / Monk (With 2x blunderbusses I don't know if there exist resonate build or not) / Holy Slayer (Streetfighter) / Chanter

What are easy power builds that do not require you to micro much? Something similar to Dragon Thrashed Chanter builds or Sacred Immolation Paladin builds from the original PoE game? ;)

Chanter/Paladin will give you what you want, but for example BoW boss required good DPS (because of constant healing), so you will still need to use some consumables or pick second character with rogue subclass and manage him in this fight

  2. And what if they don't attack you? Or what if you fight against casters? And are you sure you can generate enough Wounds to keep the ability up all the time, because you don't really get hit when it's up? This is only situationaly good.

That why Monk/Priest build have BDD spell and AOE nuke, you cast BDD, Blade Turning and Salvation of Time and follow this with Storm of Holy Fire, because of AOE damage and for example robe you will take all aggro on yourself and enjoy unlimited wounds, the biggest drawback is Arcane Dumper

  3.

Blade turning is not enough? The only thing u need to worry is firearm focus fire.

But if you want to keep Blade Turning up, you can't use any other abilities. A tank who is just a brick is useless.

That why Priest/Monk can give you even more fun, 25s for Blade Turning is not a joke, in enemies groups with more than 2 barbarians you can do a lot of passive damage

  4. Man, you posted Grave Calling build before DLC release, shame on you, I only hoping that Obs skip this topic and don't limit proc rate to 1/per rest ;)

I like mix Grave Calling with Blunderbuss on Streetfighter/Chanter, you proc Blunderbuss modal, Troubadour passive start summon skeletons, you kill your own skeletons and spam Chill Fog, Chill Fog receive ALL Streetfighter bonuses, i.e get 150% DM bonus from rogue and +100% on crit, you cast Life Leech Chant and just stay in Fog and watch how enemies DIE ;D

  5. Well it depend if you plans to clear all bosses or not, if you enable gods challenge or not, if you plan to do run now or after DLC release, if you want to use consumable or not ?

If you plan to do only main game then you can check any solo builds on Builds page
If you plan to do TSC without DLC Wizard, Paladin/X, Monk near all classes except Barbarian/Druid/Ranger will work very well
If you plan to do TSC + DLC then Paladin/X will be your single chose, I don't know why but new Obsidian bosses designed for very, very long fight and classes with limited resources will have very hard time
It you plan to do TSC + DLC + God Challenges then Chanter/Paladin your way to go

  6. Zealot is cool, but lack of penetration bonuses, you can check this build https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/103215-class-build-the-undying-zealot/, the best what you can get from martial/caster mix is class with base penetration bonuses (Barbarian/Helwalker) and DoT spells, you cast long duration spell and start fight, then repeat spell.

Yeah that is the main reason to go pure cipher to get amp wave as early as possible and play a big chunk of a game with it.

Shared Nightmare is the best thing about pure cipher ascendant (level 9 passive) - in ascendant state amp wave has a huge aoe then that hits the whole screen. Sure monk and barb variations as well as streetfighter have slight easier speed buffs to cast things rapidly but smaller aoe size.

also from my understanding monk has a 15% lightning lash no? and turning wheel fire lash only affects melee weapon attacks?

Turning Wheel is, I think, only melee weapon damage, and Lightning Strikes is only weapon damage in general. So the lashes would allow for quicker Focus gain, but don't affect spell damage.

Turning wheel fire lash affects all skills no matter of source and Lightning Strikes affect only weapon

  8. Yeah that is the main reason to go pure cipher to get amp wave as early as possible and play a big chunk of a game with it.

I tested all your Ciphers builds, but Witch my favorite, I can't play pure Cipher after it, even with big AOE I don't think that you can chain kills and stop all enemies to Engage at single spell

Leaping over map is also super cool feature

  9.

It also gives me earlier access to high end DPS powers, passive abilities that increase AoE size based on Focus amount and give my Will targeting abilities hit-to-crit.

Yeah that right, but well... just believe me :) it's very boring, there no wow effect, you will be slow 80% of time and only 20% of game with time parasite proc (for 12s), I only notice that you orient on DPS instead of CC or supporting, that why I offered you other classes

  10. I checked your L15 - L20 abilities list pick and I don't think that you really want pure Cipher

Level 16: Time Parasite and A Soul's Echo
    Level 17: Accurate Empower
    Level 18: Potent Empower
Level 19: Death of 1000 Cuts and Shared Nightmare
Level 20: Prestige OR Protective Soul

So in summary: You plan to take one more DPS skill which will target Fortitude and one spell which will increase your speed ? I offer you to check Transcendent (Nalpazca), why ? Because it will give you full attack with range weapon + 20% lash for all your skills + 2 PEN and cool summon ability

You need more reason ? Because you can control amount of your int :D You can spend all wounds at once or wait for 10 wounds and cast Borrowed Instinct. It's mean you can low your int and MAX Dexterity and Might

  11. ROFL... right. Brainfart.

Then it's only +6 before shifted and +7 while shifted and back to +3 after shifting.

Or... you can take Chanter and just set two chants on auto-cast ;D

@heldred is completely right, Fighters L1 - L7 should has at least same power as Paladin, and L8 - L9 should be completely redone, same as Druids and now Barbarians (with latest DW, Lions sprint)

But I think all nerfs/buffs will be done only after latest DLC release, so there no point to discuss it now :D

  12. I wanna see pure Mage Slayers doing this *KABOOM* spamming everyone is talking about... :dancing:

But you are really going with a Chanter @mant2si? Give Druids some love!  ;)

P.S. I am starting to like this "discussion"!

    > I wanna see pure Mage Slayers doing this *KABOOM* spamming everyone is talking about...

I also thinking about mobs which will block spell-casting and beneficial effects on crits, this will make party game-play more interesting, maybe then I will play with 2 people in party. But if Obs. will add such kind of mobs, paladin will be class #1 for solo or party setup for comfortable game-play, because all other class survival depend on active abilities (for example fighter unbending)

    > But you are really going with a Chanter @mant2si? Give Druids some love!

I still miss single-target DoT spells from Druid's abilities if you will add such to your mod, I will give them a chance

    > P.S. I am starting to like this "discussion"!

I don't like discussion with arguments based only on single screenshot and two approvals, at the end we will see one more Arcane Knight / Wizard build but with maxed Arcana

  13. Ops, sorry 'bout that. It sure does get triggered. Thing is... I didn't use it ;D... if we're still talking about that BoW dragon here(Nery...whatever her name was.)

So I think we can end our discussion ? If you want to show how you kill dragon, then you can create another post with your build, if your point of view that every class can use Arcana and kill any boss / win battle you can also start another topic and show us that, even more there exist special topic with BoW dragon where everyone share their experience

I created this build because I don't like defenses stacking (this include Paladin/Fighter classes) non CW tick stacking from (Wizard), if you know fun build without defenses stacking that will be viable for soloing game you can share it with me in this post https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/105591-help-looking-for-fun-solo-build-for-next-dlc-and-mega-boss/

  14. I think you miss some points here, dude.

It doesn't matter what the classes are if you can get that much penetration on maelstroms. And you can actually go higher, because that which I show there is not even the optimum you can go for. You can even debuff her armour--something which I didn't do.

I don't even know what CW is, so if you want to let that as a tip, I'd appreciate it. But it is what it is. 6 buffed scrolls plus some abilities that don't break the game(assuming that's what you mean by... CW, that is)--dragon is dead. And the defences are not that big of an issue because she takes her sweet time casting spells. Any half decent solo build will go over 130 defences and that is enough. If you can go higher, so much the better.

Even if you do want to account for some differences in classes then you'll use 8 scrolls. Still not a biggie.

    > I don't even know what CW

    CW = Combusting Wounds

I think you misunderstand game mechanic, CW is one of the game breakable spell (it's no matter if you understand how it works or not ) if you can hit with it, and your enemy is not immune to fire you will win

    > It doesn't matter what the classes are if you can get that much penetration on maelstroms.

You have 1 more penetration from Wizard passive talent,

    > Any half decent solo build will go over 130 defenses and that is enough. If you can go higher, so much the better

That not true, only few classes can have such high defenses, that why I asked you about your build, each class has their cons and pros ... but some of them is stronger than others, you can check build page, there non exists Barbarian solo builds for TSC, but exist a lot of builds for Wizard and Paladins

    > Even if you do want to account for some differences in classes then you'll use 8 scrolls. Still not a biggie.

And that also not true, you can do that only if you have enough accuracy bonuses and penetration, and reflexes
