Personally, I think a game should concentrate on the core product its trying to deliver. For instance, in Civ4 when a tank obliterates a rifleman in a flawless victory, how lame would that be? Afterall what the game is attempting to deliver is a strategic experience in which animations are just an eye candy bonus. If resources are pulled away from AI, adding more units, or creating more strategy like features to add less generic animations that would just suck. Likewise games like KotOR II and republic commandos are much different games. And I am betting that KotOR II still had less generic then commando's. Nevertheless, Commando's probably isn't much more then action FP tripe. In which case, having weak animations would probably show poor quality. RPG's have to do so much more, that IMO its just not feasable, nor should to much time ever be devoted to peripheal eye candy. Personally the best combat I have ever seen in a Bioware engine has been in the IE games. Since then I think the combat looks better, but at the same time becomes more mundane. I would actually prefer the animator's resources being devoted to things like AI, which isn't really needed in games like KotOR2, and more interesting combat mechanics, that aren't necessarily twitch.

Can't Run with High End System

I just want to thank you for pointing me to this fix. The game just went from completely unplayable, to flawless on highest settings for me. Thanks again! -
I have a master's degree and dropped out of my PhD program to get a job when I have my first child and can't say I regret it. I think PhD is best for academics, which is technically what I wanted to do. However, I think a graduate degree does not necessarily open more doors for you, but maybe increases your pay a bit. I started a whole position higher at my current company then the people whith just BS degrees. Basically I got a three year jump for an average of 2 years worth of work. However, its a lot easier to beat the PhD bonus, so that is why I say its less attractive. In other words, I already get paid more then a starting PhD, and would be barely finishing this year if I did not quit.

Anybody But Bush.

Reason why Nader gives Democrats a D+ and the republicans a D-. Not to mention, why Howard Dean was so popular. Lastly why the ABB is so popular.

Actually MIchael Moore makes this quite clear in "Dude, where's my country."

Its not a matter of Isolationism. Anmesty international has year after year called Saudi Arabia one of the most oppresive regimes in the world. This has only been exasperated by the war on terror. However, we couldn't be more friendly toward them. What about the Genocides occuring in Africa, why don't we do something about that? And Khyrgyzstan, the best of the evil central asian dictator's that let us use an airfield, and now our friends. Break away from the Soviet Union only to become a meanie on a smaller scale. I guess its a matter of selective hegemony. I think invading Iraq would be OK, if it was the in the nation's best interest to do so, but it wasn't. Its going to cost you and me plenty of money. Money that I earned, and that will going to pay, with interest a war for profiteering. Frankly, I don't know what the history books will read, what facts will be uncovered, the sinking of the Maine, is still classified! All I know is that you just don't go invading soveriegn nations when your republics national security is not at risk, and it wasn't. BTW, the palestinians could use some help from the worlds largest super power. Of course, why would we help the usurpers, when we helped create them. You mean like Ken Lay? How about Quattrone? Lets not forget multi-nationals that are, our modern day versions of plantation owners, and the endless greed and corruption that goes to despots ruled by real bad people...

You sure are stupid... I don't have the right to speed on the freeways and I do! What are you referring to in WW2? There was plenty Casus Belli all over the place...

I watched the speech Bush gave before the war started. Bush said the primary reason for going into Iraq was the liberation of 25 million people. That was before a single troop was on the ground. You're confusing media editorializing with Bush's actual statements. Some quick fact checking will show that you have been misled in this regard. His JUSTIFICATION was based upon UN resolutions. The UN authorized force in Iraq in the first Gulf War. A UN resolution called for a cease-fire dependent upon Iraq following UN resolutions. Then the UN said that Iraq failed to follow those resolutions. Thusly, the cease-fire was null and void. And the UN passed another unanimous resolution shortly after 9/11 threatening Iraq, and demanding immediate complaince or else. They still failed to comply. And in case you missed it, the US did find WMD and evidence that large batches of WMD are still missing. I understand what you are saying EnderWiggin, but not even the monarch's of 500 years past could go to war on a whim. You needed a reason, and often time the reason was normally petty, such as some prince needing to insult another. A president has no ability to free anyone he has no soveirgnty over. Hence, if his reason to go to war was to free he broke international law. What international law... I don't know the law they have been talking about for the last 600 years, that says you just can't outright invade another christian country. Oops, well there you go... Seriously, the case for war was UN resolutions and WMD's and they were rather weak given that their was no threat from Iraq, and everyone that knew something knew that! As for finding WMD's that violated UN resolution whatever, they found some? I did not hear about this, do you have a link? I am sure Iraq is just keeping them in Syria, that would be a major screw up, if they forgot to ship one over.

I decided I was not going to see the movie the second I saw a battle scene? What happened to the hoplite, the phalanx, or any integrity whatsoever in Hollywood? J/K... The opposite is sort of true for King Arthur, Hollywood critics slam it for rewriting the tail, when its the most historically accurate one so far. Doesn't say much considering, but that is a different story.

FLA came out with Civillization earlier this year. Fairly mild, I can work to it so thats good, kind of ambient. Hell truth be told, I can work to anyting... As for the side projects, the have so many its hard to keep track, I think he will be doing more of everything. I do not know much about how records are produced, but only cevin and others were part of the actual production of the album, even though the music was skinny puppy, which is now just ohgr and cevin? Anyhow, what I think I mean to say is that I think Ohgr will have time to do his other things. And yeah, Broken was Trents best work. -
Its obvious that a website would know more about ninjas then some forum poster. BTW, that site is like old. I remember Josh saying he was going to add the real ninja's from site to IWD2.

It sort of does in the sense their voices are much less distorted. However, its not like the Process in quality. I think its a whole heck of a lot better. Probably a bit sell-outish, but not nearly as bad as NIN. Some people say they miss the Goettel, but for crissakes that dude just did the beats! The band has always been ohgr and cevin and I think this album really shows that they have matured musically. Actually I just read a thing about guitar's, what guitar's? Well one of Skinny puppies greatest songs, TIN OMEN, had guitar's. Like I said if you appreciate good industrial music, you might want to preview it. BTW, its a lot harder, IMO then Frontline Assembly, Civillization. -

The Greater Wrong of RIght. I think it came out last month. EDIT: Its getting really good reviews, the only marginal reviews are from heroine addicts that are still living in the past in their own self angst, just kidding... -

I tend to like musicians that have strong lyrics, strong music and strong messages. I like hard music not pop, short for popular, most people don't know that, pretty sad. My two favorite bands are also some of the most political bands I have ever heard, and the fact that they rock is good stuff too. People that don't like modern progressive music will become dinosaurs, avoid that and embrace innovation. Be like Ewen McGregor and choose life, leaving Punk Rock and Iggy Pop in the past where the belong. I bought the new Skinny Puppy album and think its awesome. I have heard a lot of people say that this is not Skinny puppy, but their dinosaurs. Skinny puppy has evolved, and with it so has their chaos on voice distortion, doing some stuff I have never heard before. That is what muscicians should do instead of rehashing the same stuff they were doing 20 years ago. Hence, why I like the drugged out Beatles way more then the teenie bopper beatles. -
Frightens you! I have a 4 year old girl that looks 7! I think myself as a pretty young guy, but when I gave her the stranger talk and consequent stranger quizzes it all felt pretty eerie. I stopped watching any sort of local media or news. That seems to help me live in a safer world.

Am I saying they had anything to do with 9/11. As for the links, AQ had links with scores of nations. Their ifrastructure is a loose net of cells that operate all over the world. Heck, what became AQ had support from the US prior to them being a threat to the US. Your case is worse then Frederick's case for Silesia! The Casus Belli was WMD's and some UN violations. Given that has changed, given more recent info, don't be a revisionist and change the case for war.

This is a bunch of a bull. Saddam's regime had soviet planes and Al Quada used Boeing planes. The anthrax, well that could have come from anywhere. And I don't think Saddam's regime was into reusing old shells as bombs. As far as the taliban crap, that is probably an accumulation of internet, Iran and Pakistan more then Saddam. I have yet to see any hard proof of this besides the words of a corrupt Russian president and the National Review.

America is not a true democracy. I'm inclined to think America would be worse off if it was. Just look at California to see how democracies can ruin stuff.

How much are Iraqi's paying for gas? and driving from Baghdad to Karbala, how many independent militias do you think you would run into?

Well then his lies are just extreme uses of spin. They attacked us because they don't like free societies... freedom = democracy. saying troop morale was high based off a soldier he just put a puple heart on, when a gallop poll just stated the opposite. If you are going to call Michael Moore a liar then you have to call the administration liars based on the same token.
