  1. Well... great work! The appearance is also fitting perfectly! I can't see the abilities, only see athletics at 6.. you get lore and survival I guess..
  2. All of you have interesting points of view! I chose paladin for the completeness of the character. And mostly for the fact that he's a leader. But could also agree with the priest. Don't know why but they always fascinate me..
  3. This totally fits. Maybe he also seeks revenge for what happened to his beloved nature...
  4. Ok let's see.. I'm sure of Eder, Aloth and Durance. Kana is to be evaluated, since he's chanter as well. As for the rest I dunno right now... I think I will decide a bit later based on how I fare during combat... Thanks for your efforts Remix, really appreciate.
  5. Thank you first of all. My idea is second line, between tank/dps and wizard/ranged. Being in the middle helps me spread my AoE better. If someone draws near, I'll face 'em with hatchets/axes. Edit... Even behind would suit, as I could be the one who gives courage to the party... but what do I do with Hatchets then?
  6. My bad, I didn't mean two handed, I meant two weapons... (I still prefer a spear or a quarterstaff, anyway) To give 35Def to a friends, means HE is the main tank. Eder could do it? I'm ok with the off-tank position, my main purpose is versatility, y'know, and he must be talkative. That's why I like Elcga... Honest and Diplomatic... fits my style.. Who can be the trapspringer then? Kana? Edit... moreover I need a fitting BG... tried Drifter...no like. Also need recommendations on Stats...
  7. No issue at all. Nordic people had both axes and bows. As for the chants... I'd take those that buff self and party... let's give some example.... 1st Level: Wengridh, At the Sight 2nd Level: Sure handed Ila, Lo, their endless host 3rd Level: The silver knights 4th Level: Old Siec Invocations: Reny Daret, At the sound of his voice, Gernisc's beast, Seven Nights, The bride caught, So singt. (the champion would fit solo...) That's what I think at first thought...
  8. That's a fine piece of spear! It's a nice sinergy that you have said! Do you think this particular paladin could be enjoyable? Worth a try? There's not many people going shieldbearers afaik... Edit.. another thought... do paladins tend to lose power if ranged? What happens, instead if they're two handed?
  9. You only kite foes or you also attack them with weapons? Is there a specific way in which I can obtain combat abilities? So that I attack during chants and throw in some cool ability?
  10. Hiya all fellow players. Just curious about your opinion: what is the best MC one can choose in this game? I think about role, abilities, utility for a party... post your opinions!
  11. Do you think it could work? I made it Shieldbearer.. would you do the same?
  12. I like what you say about northern myth. So... what race did you pick? what stats? Is he the mouth of the party? Does he unlock things?
  13. It's difficult to say, I'm not searching some specific "miracle worker". It's just the concept that I'm chasing. A Skald has no rifle. He's got axes, maybe a bow... a harp (i know, this is not possible...) dresses in hides, has horned helmet. Chants, cries in battle, boosts himself with rage, and his comrades with passion. Now.. you play and see your chanter standing idle in the middle of the grass doing nothing... how very epic!
  14. I could, but the stripes must be made, the teeth are not sharky and...well they're orcs...
  15. I find your description of the druid intriguing... how do you play it? cc? dps? shift?
  16. You're right, I really AM difficult to please I've opened the "natural paladin" thread if you want to comment... because I have difficulty finding a "non-blaster" role for the druid. My fault, I didn't know the class well.
  17. Ok, now things are clearer. Not exactly what I had in mind with my Druid, but, as I said before, i'ts my fault. I expected the druid to be a buffer/debuffer, not a dps... other rpgs contamination Does the druid have CC?
  18. Nono wait... this is bit too much! How can the speed make me avoid friendly fire? The other thing I don't understand is my role... just dps?
  19. Well, I could put Dex to 8 if I'd go 2weapons... two hatchets give me a very good deflection, and I could stand in the middle of the fight. What I'm concerned of, is not the viability of the build itself, nor the various combinations I could obtain. What concerns me, is that I'm searching for an archetype, some base concept that can define this chanter. I was oriented on the Skald, but rifles, and other things are just out of context... I liked the idea of the chanter along with the cross class frenzy... but something is still amiss.... Frenzy --> Autochant --> Attack. Rinse and repeat. There must be something better to do than just this. I don't mean to use many scrolls... i find consumable things annoying...
  20. Well regardin Micro..I'd say I stand in the middle. But for me, Chanters are the lowest of all. No positioning, no activated abilities except invocations (which you are not forced to use, Chanter remains awesome even with just chants). Chanters go with autopilot and are extremely strong by themselves. They don't need to make any efforts. Their very presence changes the battles... And I don't enjoy microing other chars more than I do with my main. I let the AI do it... it works for me, it kinda makes me feel they have an own mind...
  21. You're right to talk about my expectations. And btw I didn't find your post boring at all. Just the character. On the contrary, I appreciate every bit of time you guys spend to write your personal points of view!
  22. I don't understand your question: This thread IS about the chanter played at non PotD. If I opened this thread it's because I needed advices from the community about such a character. That does not mean I have to like every advice. If at a certain point, after trying it, I found it to be boring... well... what can I do?
  23. Ordinary...I mean... normal... the classic druid... nothing exceptional that makes that druid different.... something that makes you say.. "this is really an original approach to druid"
  24. Remix, you just did the same thing I told to the other guy... explaining how strong the chanter can be. I don't want the chanter to be different, I'm exploring the possibility of playing it in a more active way. Clicking on the enemy is NOT activity. Using an Invocation every once in a while and moreover feeling that if I didn't use it I'd have won the battle just the same... it's....unrewarding. I don't doubt your party is a beast. I just wouldn't enjoy playing with it at all.
