  1. What paladin ability destroys spirits?? I just got the sword...
  2. Yes I know I'm at the very start, it's just I expected the paladin or priest to be more... charismatic. I found instead that the paladin sounds just like a fighter with some different powers and a specific attitude to keep in dialogues. The priest which I made (dwarf, eothas) was still good to play but a lot squishier... I wanted to be the undead slayer but ended up with a hybrid character that did nothing special.
  3. Mmmkay... listen, since you've been so kind thus far... I feel my dwarven paladin could be improved but I don't know how... he's tanky, he's got the sword against spirits... but I feel he's not got... personality... is there any dwarven stuff... or... paladin-y stuff I can get?
  4. But maerwald sent me there... I tried doing od nua but it's too hard... level five...
  5. I was playing this afternoon... despite all good things that this game has.... I just can't stand that sensation of clueless exploration. Defiance bay is big. All you have to do is simply talk. Know a guy, he gives you errand, you do it, reward. This is what ruined many good Rpgs... I need some info on how the game will proceed. After 10+ hrs of game, I still haven't understood what I'm looking for... I just know I seek info on my Watcher condition.... is that all? Nothing more?
  6. Well actually my char is tanky, and Eder is as well... not sure about the others. In fact, my Aloth keeps getting proned if someone fighter-y stands too close and we can't eliminate him in time. Kana is kinda squishy despite the brigandine, sagani usually is not taken into account by monsters...
  7. Hahaha lol about chanters! Yes, I figured as much... there can even be only two ranged chars, the melee part would anyway mince what's in sight. Who do you feel best for frontline? Eder, then? Me, for I'm paladin...
  8. Uhm... I didn't expect this answer tbh I expected something like " just put 1 tank on front and all the rest ranged"... in many other games I usually get this kinda answers...lol
  9. Wael is.... the ungod. You're quite right about it, it's something like "the god of the unexplainable" or something very close to it. You don't question Wael, and you don't spread Wael's (non-existent) word. But I'd personally enjoy some more coherent agnostic point of views. Because, in the end, Wael holds many secrets.... which we don't know. So I'd like something like "Hey, we just cannot fathom..." or "Keep your doubts for Wael teaches us that not all can be known.."
  10. Hey all! So I got my dwarven paladin, and my group is composed by: Me Eder Aloth Durance Kana Sagani Itumaak Now...question is not who is the strongest companion but... How do you divide your roles? I got 2 on front + 1 fox Durance in the middle who occasionally comes front with the staff (2 line still) Aloth, Sagani, Kana ranged. Would you distribute forces in other ways? Are 3 people on the front too much? Let's hear your impressions...
  11. In 10+ hours of game, I've never had a Wael dialogue option. If you read my thread related to personality you should find Jojobobo's answer. It's quite...enlightening. Edit--> Other gods: Even choosing Eothas, which grants many dialogue options, doesn't make the thing more enjoyable at all. I'm not sure about Magran though..
  12. I agree on the part of the dispositions, you're perfectly right. Would like to get a personality and stick with it during the game. In fact, it's most unlikely that a benevolent character turns out cruel for no apparent reason, so the most desirable way to handle this concept would be, as you said, making wrong dispositions progressively disappear.
  13. Hello fellow players. My current playthrough has been quite satisfying so far, at least damage and role-wise. I've taken the time to explore around quite a bit, and I'm now in defiance bay, level 5. Tried od nua but it's almost impossible starting from second level. Almost 10hrs of play, and still my main character has the "charisma" of a wall. I feel like I'm wandering cluelessly around, and doing errands for this or that peasant. While this may fit the concept of my char, which is a paladin of the kind wayfarers, I find this game to lack any catch at least in this part. No interaction between party members, they just follow, don't have any feeling or anything.. even weapons are plain simple and common in design... the most exotic being my flaming sword found in caed nua.. Anyone feels the same way I do or am I just too exigent?
  14. Orlan cipher is definitely the most talkative MC you can build. But I still want to go with Priest or Paladin. It's all a matter of role. I like cipher a lot, but I'll go with priest most likely. Usually priests or paladins are group leaders. That's what I want to be.
  15. I was thinking that I like Dwarven Priest or Paladin anyway... Maybe I'll make Orlan Cipher in my 2nd playthrough, but for now, I have this Idea. Furthermore, while your post is extremely useful, the matter is not how many dialogue options I have, but WHEN and in which circumstances. So maybe I could pick Berath over Eothas if the dialogue options are more fitting.. I also like Durance (maybe I'm one of the few...hehe...he's grumpy) as companion so might as well go paladin to have him over pallegina...
  16. That's great answer, thank you! I didn't know such document existed! I'll try to be the most talkative MC ever! hahah
  17. Hi all. I've posted a comment on the other part of the forum, because I liked cleric but he's very poorly integrated with the story.. I'm running Eothas and the links to the main plot, despite being Eothas-centered, are very weak. So i thought I could either change into a paladin, or most likely, change my divinity. Before I do so, however, please tell me if I'm doing the right thing. I don't want to restart again due to lack of interaction. Which one is the MC class (any, not limited to priest or paladin) that has the strongest "special dialogues" or connection with the plot? Don't be afraid to spoiler, I just want to know. Thanks Side note: They told me on another thread that interactions are improved with the expansions. Is that so?
  18. Mmm i don't own the expansions so that may be the reason (even though the main game should behave fine as it is). This lack of "integration" makes me want to stop playing this kind of priest..
  19. Greets! I've started a cleric of Eothas. Something just doesn't feel quite right.. When you first talk to Eder it gives you the choice to ask "who is Eothas"... what? I don't know who my god is? Some time later, Kolsc talks to you. He mentions Eothas, and Durance says something like "he was really shiny when the bomb blew him up" ... but..but.. you don't even get the chance to talk him down?? Someone is mocking my god and I don't care?? And last...done the temple of Eothas, in GIlded Vale. Maybe this is intended but... nothing comes out of it... it's just...dull... Not a thing... I pray and nothing happens, and in the whole temple there's nothing different if you're not a cleric... just the chance to forgive Wirtan.... bah.... didn't like it.. Without spoiling too much..can any of you tell me if this is all ok, or other gods get some better roleplay? I'm... doubtful....
  20. From a moral perspective I'd go Shieldbearers. Honesty and diplomacy, for me can't go wrong. Benevolent and passionate is no bad pick, mind you... Could definitely also play these. But in my playthrough I always seem to be diplomatic...
  21. I'm trying Eothas now... more fitting with my moral choices... I simply can't be stoic sometimes... Do you think I should pick mountain or boreal dwarf... I went mountain, 'cos I really like 'em more thematically...
  22. Brief question: do paladins have something similar vs undead? Or are the talents cleric-exclusive?
  23. Don't worry boer, I'll ask again later when I'll finish my cleric run..
