Non-PotD Chanter.. need info on the exact role in party.
Reent, come to think of it... You made me think of a Skald.... Maybe Aumaua, or even human... two hatchets.... mmmm

Well, in Hobbit and LoTR everyone sang whenever they had the opportunity, including dwarves. That's true... but maybe it's just because I don't wanna copy someone else's char entirely.. moreover, he's passionate about the dwarf's story in the book...I don't have that bond...

Oh yes, maybe so... but the chanter itself is fun... Tried your version this morning.. it works, alright.. I'm not very sold on the dwarf, i can't imagine dwarf who sing...hehe but nevertheless it works...

That's good to hear, 'cos I really like to have Kana in the party.... do their chants stack?

Thank you Rhein, you have been most helpful. I must say, he is a strange kind of tank, but surely a funny one! I didn't get exactly if you chose the dwarf because he is good for this, or just out of roleplay... rest assured that tomorrow, I'll try him out.

Rhein you know I don't min max so I really appreciate your build. Have you already played it for an entire play through? So you give him warhammer? and what kind of sword and board? I'm not a huge fan of it... oh and... do you take kana with you?

Please Rhein, describe me this build in a bit more details, I kinda like it!!

Ranged "buccaneer like" rogue...is it viable?
You couldn't have been more clear I know also that rogues tend to be squishy... how to cope with that?

Buahuahuahauah!!! The crazy murderous chanter!!!

I can see why it's your favourite class... but I wouldn't see it in a solo game... it's like a bard, he's social, his abilities boost the others... I like this aspect...

Mmm Reent, you're dissuading me...

Ranged "buccaneer like" rogue...is it viable?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i wanted the dual pistols!!!! How come you never made a petition?!? hahahha Back to serious things... Same as ranger? Maybe MIG is a bit more important to a damage dealer? I don't have any pet that can do it for me in this case... what am I missing?

Last questions Boeroer: Better Human or aumaua? And then again... stat-wise? Oh and one thing... you can't dual wield pistols, can you? It'd be awesome...

Not yet Boeroer, but I'll take them soon. It's really worth it afaik. So you say go noble? And I'd agree with Raven for the Moon Glike...

Ranged "buccaneer like" rogue...is it viable?
Lol... How could I forget? Is 1 handed supposed to leave the 2 hand empty? And over all... do you think this char could hold his own and be funny? Or it just fits the theme but for the rest it's crap? I can't tank with a rogue so...

Party. Still undecided about who to bring along, but definitely party. Edit. Why 1 handed? The pistol is 2...

I didn't give him the plate, as from a roleplay point of view I don't see a chanter wearing heavy metal plate... but yes, you're right. I'd like to follow the "evocation path" but really don't like the sword and board.... maybe two handed.... but still I'm far from sold on the concept... More convinced on the "noble with a scepter"...

Thank you Raven for your insight. Which race best suits this kind of play? I thought of Orlans... but I'm open to suggestions... As for Stats, I thought of a high INT but then...what follows?

Ranged "buccaneer like" rogue...is it viable?
Hey guys, today I'm off duty, and I'm elaborating about different builds. Here I'm again, thinking of a lowlife buccaneer with headband and pistol in his hand. A rogue, who exploits the enemy's weaknesses, witty and elusive. Maybe Human, maybe Aumaua... it could fit right? As you know, I don't min-max, I enjoy roleplaying and being a jack-of-all-trades, be it with combat or with the tongue. I've seen Boeroer's hornet, but... that's not quite the concept I have in mind.. What do you think, could it be viable?

So it's best to make it both ranged and melee, depending on the circumstances? I'd like wand or scepter.... but maybe even firearms... too bad I can't use 2 pistols...haha

Mmm I don't think I'd enjoy an all ranged... I like variety.. I didn't know that chanters increase speed in 4 lvls... The fact that this character has an auto-passive effect in combat appeals me a LOT, but I don't come out with an archetype, an IDEA behind the character... (meanwhile I'm playing my ranger, you know..) nor I know which race (even if I'm strongly orlan-oriented) or bg.... still far from playing...

I didn't know these two strategies, thanks for sharing. Now... which one does better complement a group? I'd guess the chants... since their effect is continuous... And how then to complement this build? Do I have to be in the middle of the fray or my invocations will work wherever I am on the battlefield?

Well I didn't mean it will be fragile forever, but at the very start, I personally found him to be quite squishy. I also don't like a classic sword 'n board, it's too.... common... It's true that chant don't require dex, but attacks do... I don't want to only chant and do nothing else... Reent, would that mean that I'd be better off with another character? I noticed on another playthrough that Kana had the same problem... not being able to reach the 3rd chant, and thus no invocations, but I thought it was just a case....
