  1. It all sounded good until this part. I wonder what you mean by "not a long time had passed since they took the identity of Sith". In the game and for atleast 5 years prior to kotor 2, it was understood that Kreia was always a Sith, since the days she trained Revan. She could just mask her true intentions very well with a somewhat darker grey philosophy. Where as Bastilla was DS for barely a day before you met her at the temple. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I know, its a bit strange to me too, but I'm not so good at logical reasoning. Anyway, what I meant to say that in KOTOR 1, Bastila was not dark-sided when she created that bond with Revan. However, when Revan turns LS and Bastila turns DS, Lonna Vash's explanation comes true that the bond fades over time when one member's alignment changes from LS to DS or vice versa. For that matter, Kreia herself was not a Sith when she created the bond with the Exile. She was herself recovering from the damage that Sion/Nihilus had done to her (stripped her of the force powers). At this point the Exile is pretty much Neutral as well. Kreia was masking herself with the Grey philosophy when she made the bond with the exile, and since the bond was created when she was Grey, Lonna Vash's rules apply. As such, when she becomes Darth Traya, she reveals her true intentions, becomes dark sided again. And this is when the bond starts to fade. I doubt it would be completely eroded by the time Exile fights her on Malachor V, but perhaps Kreia's statement applies here and the Exile's mind was prepared to resist any backlash caused by Kreia's death due to their bond. The same may apply for Revan and Bastila as well (but this never happens since Bastila canonically does not die). However, the above reasoning would not apply for the darkside exile. I don't know how to explain the DS exile killing Kreia, except for the Sith philosophy that every apprentice proves his strength by killing his/her master. Again, these are just my thoughts.
  2. I finished Vampire: Bloodlines twice already. It is a very nice game, but lots of bugs and crash issues. The game is also a RAM hog, I recommend 1GB of RAM if you want to play smoothly for hours together. However, the storyline experience is cool. I like to play as Malkavian, there's something about driving people mad and having them pull their hairs trying to figure out what the Malk just said.
  3. I remember that Kreia says to the Exile that when battle is upon them, their minds are well-prepared to repel any damage caused by their force bond. Perhaps this was true when Traya dies on Malachor V. And Lonna Vash's explanation also seems believable. However, in KOTOR 1, If you are LS/Neutral, you can kill darkside bastila on the Star Forge. And nothing happens to Revan when he/she does that. It pretty much proves both Vash's and Kreia's explanation, that a) The minds of the people involved in the bond are fully prepared to resist any damage arisen out of the force bond or/and b) When one member of the force bond turns alignment, then the bond can fade and eventually break. However, in both Traya and Bastila's case, not a long time had passed since they took the identity of Sith, which would probably mean that both Revan and the Exile's minds were able to resist the force damage. Just a thought.
  4. Yes but that was after. Perhaps the trial was a secret that was kept from the other council members. There was alot of empty seats in the chamber and it wasn't much of a trial to begin with. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Perhaps the other council members were busy playing cards Or maybe the Council seats were empty because many Masters were out on campaigns?
  5. Maybe Trask still lives; he was only enthusiastic to get that door shut because he had some private business with Bandon
  6. Perhaps the Jedi Council got tired of Vrook's constant bickering and said "ehh..Vrook, you see, we need strict teachers like you to teach at the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine. Err...this is a promotion. Go there now."
  7. Did you even play San Andreas? Are you aware it has very decent RPG elements and that it is way beyond Vice City? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I did play San Andreas, and although I liked the story missions and conquering territories was nice, I didn't like the "Keeping fit" and keeping the girlfriend happy jobs. Although that could be because I'm only 14 years old as of now, and I prefer more fast-paced things. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You mean like "driving a motorcycle behind a train and shooting at guys on top with 2 uzis as they lob grenades at you" fast-paced or "Burnout" fast-paced? Or maybe it was KotOR fast-paced? Admit it, those 2 games can't be compared rationally to each other. All one can say is "I prefer GTA:SA style games over KotOR style games". There is nothing else to say, which makes this argument and this thread pointless. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I guess you are right....The matter of fact is, yeah I like lobbing grenades and firing uzis but the daily exercise, eating and keeping the girls happy was boring for me. Like I said, the story missions are quite fast paces, as is the territory conquest system. But sometimes I just want to take a nice ride through the city and rasie hell, and I can't do that often without the girlfriend happiness and fitness meters going down! Anyway, KOTOR-style games are more comfy for me as compared to GTA-SA style games.
  8. Perhaps the Jedi regularly switch positions between the Dantooine Council and the Coruscant council?
  9. Well, judging by what KOTOR 2 tells you (and also from what Wookiepedia says), Kreia was exiled during the Mandalorian Wars, because the masters thought her teachings were what caused Revan to go into battle. Also remember that Atris thought the Exile turned to the Dark Side when he went to battle, disregarding the teachings of the Council. So, at this point, the Council thought all the Jedi that went to the Mandalorian Wars as Dark-sided, and likely beleived Kreia to be the reason. If that was the case, then she likely went to war along with everyone else, or she tried to see where Revan had gone. At this point, the Jedi council never heard of her again, so they thought her dead, or Kreia was dead to the Jedi since she was no longer a Jedi in the Council's eyes.
  10. Did you even play San Andreas? 11. Get the Corsair XMS if you plan to overclock your PC. Or else, get some cheap but nice RAM such as the ValueSelect or Kingmax "Hard-core" series (its cheap but still quite overclockable).
  12. San Andreas is good, but not as good as KOTOR 2 IMO. The gameplay mechanics seem pretty boring in San Andreas. Vice City remains the best GTA game for me. However, K2 vs. SA, K2 wins.
  13. Well, I also couldn't bring myself to hate Darth Traya so much as to kill her. I wanted to feed Malak's guts to a rancor however. When the end finally came, I thought of Kreia as not really evil, despite everything. I felt like giving her a sound beating, but never felt like killing her. If it was up to me, I would have left her there and let her decide her fate from there.
  14. I somehow felt Mira treats the Male Exile as her nosy kid brother who gets in her way. The way she tells you anything suggests just that. I mean, she says things like why we shouldn't hurt civilians, refuses to give big bombs to you....Its almost like she thinks of you as a kid brother who should not get spoiled. In either case, IMO Mira loves the Exile as a brother, which is why she would protect him like she protects her own family. In the case of the female exile, I would say that Mira acts like you are someone her age and like a friend, just casual. Nothing to it.
  15. Handmaiden or/and Malndalore.
  16. Actually, I've had the "character not moving" bug in both KOTOR 1 and 2 for a while now. I found out that the bug can possibly be fixed if you save your game when the character stops moving. Once the game is saved, I usually found that the character could move again.
  17. I like SW: Empire at War because of many reasons: a)So many variations of Imperial March from Ep.V and Ep.VI b)Darth Vader c)Luke Skywalker d)Emperor Palpatine ("I will allow you to witness my victory!") Also I like every Star Wars game ever made! :D I will also buy any game featuring the Imperial March and Vader.
  18. Well, Orange and Silver are pretty cool to me. There should be a magenta saber too, but no Star Wars game has a magenta saber yet
  19. It was probably done by some Ancient Sith Ritual, similar to how Darth Maul was resurrected in some EU book.
  20. To be really honest, the male Exile story makes more sense, has better dialog (making it more fun) and really feels like something on a larger scale than what is seen. Everything is far more sensible as a male Exile. And no, I do not think Handmaiden or Visas is hot. They are nice characters however. Besides, as female, seeing the whole point between Atris, Kreia and the Exile makes it feel like some girl vs. girl soap opera rather than a great story. For that matter, Sion having feelings for the female Exile is totally strange, because I sure as hell won't have anything but hatred for ANYONE when I'm totally drowned in the Dark Side, when all I experience is pain and am a rotting piece of flesh. Atris, on the other hand, never truly fell to DS, or you would have seen the effects of the dark side on her (veins on face, sith eyes etc.). Her story of caring for the Exile is far more believable, as she has known the Exile for years, as compared to Sion who has known the Exile for very little time. Therefore, I conclude that the story is more well-written for the male exile. I do believe the Exile should be male with a neutral alignment (with a slight LS shift) canonically.
  21. As far as I know, Durga is a Hindu goddess. For more info, see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Durga However, It could also be that the poster was meaning to point to a specific woman/girl named Durga when he posted. BTW, I voted for Mira, as she's a really nice character. I was disappointed though that Atris was not in the poll
  22. The back of my game cover also has Kreia having both hands, and a single-bladed green coloured short lightsaber. I have a female exile zapping an HK-50 with a double-bladed cyan lightsaber. Another shot shows a male exile having two lightsabers on two hands, one green and one red. The last shot shows a blond-haired female exile with two red lightsabers and handmaiden and Hanharr behind her. I purchased this game this year, and to be honest, I've seen several iterations of the box. When the game first released, I remember seeing the box in the stores. I've seen boxes which had a bald-headed Exile swinging two blue lightsabers, and boxes which had Disciple swinging around a green lightsaber. It should be noted that the picture of the bald Exile swinging sabers was seen on a cardboard box-packed edition, the picture of Kreia on the plastic DVD case-type box, and the picture of disciple on another cardboard box packed version, which was slightly different than the one having the Exile's picture.
  23. Well I had an onboard graphics solution once on a Pentium 3 PC. It was a crappy Intel i810 based chipset (but it could do DOT3 bumpmapping ) When I got a Pentium 4 computer, I initially had crappy onboard Intel i845 graphics, before the mobo died 2 weeks after purchase (defective capacitors apparently). As a replacement, I got an Intel i850 chipset mobo, and it did not have integrated graphics. Therefore I purchased a 64MB DDR GeForce4 MX 440-8X graphics card. Now, I have an AMD64-based PC with a 128MB GeForce FX 5900 (non-Ultra, non-XT) graphics card. It has made all the difference in the world compared to my MX440. Most of my games still work good, especially OpenGL games whih still work extremely well with this card. I'm holding my money for the release of the GeForce 8 series.
  24. To really say the truth, Realtek's onboard sound chips are the worst. There are MUCH better onboard sound chips coming from C-Media, SigmaTel or Analog Devices (SoundMAX). I'm currently using an onboard AC'97 SoundMAX AD1980, and it sounds as good as, if not better than, my SBLive! 24-bit in all things that do not require 24-bit audio or EAX 3.0. SoundMAX is easily THE best onboard audio across the industry, be it for AC'97 or for HD audio. HD audio has further raised the bar for audio quality in onboard chips, so they now have competitive features with separate sound cards. The only reason that anyone would want an additional soundcard (considering that CPU usage is no longer a problem now that we have very fast processors) are: a) You want the best EAX Advanced HD effects in games b) You have Dolby Digital EX/DTS ES compliant speakers and want to enjoy Dolby 7.1 in DVDs to the fullest extent. Other than that, I don't see the point to get a separate sound card. But since you have a Realtek sound chip, you should get a soundcard. It will make quite a difference for anyone with Realtek chips.
