  1. The Deadfire Beta has been rumbling really hard on steam lately, and that could be an indication that the next beta might be here real soon. The last time the private-stable branch saw this much movement, Beta 3 synced on the public branch less than a day later.
  2. After all game releases next week! ...oh wait. So. Bunch of codes. What did we learn? Hah! That's prefect!
  3. Well, it is also up for preorder on Amazon with a street date of May 8th. Whether or not you bought the book as a backer add-on or are getting it elsewhere, the first printing is probably already complete, and is waiting in the publisher's warehouse for a coordinated release.
  4. The second character is also to narrow to be an 's'. Considering how there's an 's' example later in the same picture, it has to be something much slimmer.
  5. Yeah. I also thought that too. You're probably right. Here are the last two: Worthplaying recompressed those images pretty hard when they put their watermark on the bottom right. They might be a little easier to figure out if we come across them on some other site. Looking back on the jail cell, that second character is probably not an `s`. vitshR maybe?
  6. Some new Deadfire media circulating today. Code, codes, and more codes!!! WgE69K balcony on right tg2b3r circular carpet on middle-left table KUyE6X stern of ship vitshR? left cell
  7. I've got my own crew of musical pirates in mind: ♫ "A pirate I was meant to be! Trim the sails and roam the sea!" ♫
  8. Well, I think there are just shy of 50 backer pets, a few COSMIC animals, plus a handful of other pets. We have to seriously up our game if there are another ~30 codes to find...
  9. From @WorldOfEternity: Looking for a sweet ride to tour around the city while at #GDC? Then check out these PediCabs! RHh25A
  10. Not that it entirely helps... but that's a back-end problem, not something inherently wrong with the app. It's been an issue for the last few months as challenges have been overlapping and the game struggles to figure out which one is valid, and what the reward may actually be. Hopefully someone can clean up the challenge queue in PlayFab so it stops happening every couple weeks.
  11. Let's try and keep too much idle speculation out of this discussion. It doesn't do Katrina or Obsidian any favors to cast rumors on her departure. Yes, workplace harassment in the tech industry is absolutely a valid topic, but absent any public statement, it's unfair to both her and the company to suggest it was a factor in this case. Game development is a small and volatile industry. Sometimes the best way to move up in the world is simply to move elsewhere.
  12. Man, I seriously don't know anymore. Take the two possible strings, wrap them along a curve, and toss on some gaussian blur to fuzz things up a little... At least we've narrowed it down to two possible codes, for that's that worth. Edit: I agree with the below post. Sooo... maybe we're narrowed it down to three possible codes.
  13. I thought so too. But upon further review, the last character lights up like an N during the green flash. Edit: here's a reference for how the codes might look. It would take a hard-left lean for that last character to be an A.
  14. As a beta backer, I certainly wouldn't mind more players jumping into the bug hunt. Maybe they can drop the beta price this final month. The more, the merrier! As it stands, the backer beta is basically just a party of random NPCs exploring about a dozen game maps spanning a few small islands. It's a little disingenuous to say beta testers have been playing the game for "months". All that is presently available to us is the bare-minimum amount of content to get a good idea how the new mechanics work. Beginning-to-end, you can probably cruise through the entire plot-free beta in a couple hours. Aside from getting a sneak-peek at the UI and a few other new features, the only tangible benefit to playing the beta is that when the release rolls out, we'll just spend a little less time in the character creation screen.
  15. Honestly, the beta isn't much to get excited over. It's a tiny sandbox without plot, story, or anything of consequence. Unlike other "betas" which are full games in an unfinished state, the Deadfire beta is just a narrow slice of content so that players can get a feel for combat mechanics and a couple other new features. It's cool that Obsidian is allowing testers to submit feedback prior to the game's release, but in reality it feels like "test-driving" a new car without ever leaving the dealership. The review copies sent off to media outlets seem to have way more content than what's found in the beta. That would be something to be envious of!
  16. Getting back to the topic... No, I do not think this is a secret maneuver to get some last-minute media exposure. Release dates aren't exactly legal contracts with players, but it is a significant break in good-will and faith when you unexpectedly announce a last-minute delay. It is rarely ever seen in a positive light, and many of those media outlets who may have reported on Deadfire in the past are likely to hold off on new stories until they're absolutely 100% certain about the game's future. Regardless about how you feel about the climate in this forum, Pillars fans, as as whole, seem to be quite accommodating of this news. It says something positive about a community that after an unexpected slide in the release date, most comments are along the lines of: "Sure, I can wait. Just use that extra month to make the game even better."
  17. This still seems present in the 1.2.9 collection display. A reddit thread popped-up earlier today with reports of this issue. Some observations: - On my Mac, I can horizontally scroll using trackpad gestures or mouse and everything works fine. - On my Mac, I can slick the blue arrows to move left/right, and that also works. - On my phone, I can tap/drag and the numbers remain. - On my iPad, I cannot tap/drag. The card quantities will go away whether or not I'm using the tablet interface. - Per the reddit report on PC, they cannot scroll the collection without quantity numbers disappearing. Does the collection scrolling work (or not work) for anyone else?
  18. support@obsidian.net Might take a couple business days to get back to you, but they’ve been great about sorting out player issues.
  19. Hey. It's not all bad. I can't be the only pillars fan that embarrassingly hasn't finished the original yet....
  20. Kotaku just put up an article as well: Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire has been delayed until May 8
  21. Your collection should still have two copies of Masterwork Tools. One is a B-deck item, the other is in C-deck. If you're playing the Valeros Quest, the game temporarily drops a third copy into the pool, and I think the Goblin scenarios may only have one. Why you couldn't pull the card from the box might have a few explanations, but the likeliest two are: - Even though it is found in B-deck, Masterwork Tools lacks the Basic trait. You can't grab a copy between games until AD3, when the rules change to allow you grab any card 2 ADs below your current level, or any card from the character add-on deck. - If your party already has two copies, no more will be available during deck repair.
