Oh. Totally. Some er... poking around... as of a couple months ago found that a cosmic cat was quite likely to be the third bonus pet. Just haven't seen it advertised anywhere, and the only way to verify is to wait for release.

Was there a source on that? Someone convince a pre-release streamer to give it a try?

Please don't. They're likely just saving the last few for the rest of the week. We're also venturing into some uncharted territory here. The mods tend to close long threads by this point. Let's hope we can finish the finish the job and free pirate cosmo before they feel we've overstayed our welcome....

That is not entirely true. What disables achievements is using the iroll20s command and any of the marked cheat commands. There are dozens of "non-cheat" commands in the game. Many of them do simple stuff like adjusting the GUI. The COSMIC command should not disable achievements because the game does not consider it a cheat. It would be a pretty terrible promo if Obsidian offered free stuff that disabled your achievements in the process. I can try it out first if you like, but I'm not expecting any problems by grabbing a freebie COSMIC DOG.

I just updated the original post to include the two known COSMIC pet codes. I know we're all working really hard to make pirate cosmo a reality, but don't forget about his friends Space Doggo and Cosmic Bird!

You mind sharing the code? Pop open the console: ~ COSMIC DOG - PC Gamer UK "exclusive" dog COSMIC BIRD - Gamestar "exclusive" bird After the game releases, get creative. Maybe there's some other cosmic animals lurking in the code.... COSMIC FERRET, COSMIC CAT, COSMIC GECKO? Endless possibilities, my friend.

See how Kyra has 6 of 2 weapons and 7 of 6 blessings? She is only allowed to have 2 weapons in her deck and 6 blessings. Flip through the different characters and card types to send back any unwanted cards to the game decks. Drag unwanted cards down to the bottom half of the screen. It's also likely that Merisiel has a few too many as well. Once you've made your decisions, the green arrow should be active and you can move onward.

Chris Avellone: The Final Frontier
Ethics Gradient replied to Infinitron's topic in Computer and Console
Sure can. Though it's not so much a matter of law, the terms of any forced buy-out clauses are subject to whatever buy/sell agreements that originated the shares in the first place. -
Chris Avellone: The Final Frontier
Ethics Gradient replied to Infinitron's topic in Computer and Console
The recent jab about Fair Market Value might put that a little into context. Say, 15 years ago, Chris bought-in as a 20% owner for $200k. He further said FMV was adjusted a little bit since then, but not much. When it was decided that e would be "de-ownered", the buyout offer for his 20% stake in the company might have only been for $300k, even if Obsidian has significantly grown in the last decade. Rather than deal with the terms a buyout might subject him to, he rode off into the sunset deciding that freedom to do what he wanted was worth more than what was being offered. -
Chris Avellone: The Final Frontier
Ethics Gradient replied to Infinitron's topic in Computer and Console
True, but it'd be weird for a company the size of Obsidian, which was co-founded by five different people who put their own money down as capital, to not issue internal shares to its owners. Like, really weird. Someone over on codex dug up the articles of incorporation, and it lists the company as being able to issue up to 1,000,000 shares of common stock. Though, it doesn't necessarily follow that any of the shares had a specific monetary value. It could entirely just be a legal construct to internally manage ownership percentages. -

Gods yeah. Sure they may have intentionally dropped a little drama grenade with the initial article, but the ensuing back-and-forth was both unexpected and positively bonkers. -

Ethics Gradient replied to Infinitron's topic in Computer and Console
It's not to say Avellone's recollections aren't believable. I don't think anyone around here is pro-employee-mistreatment, regardless of how much they like Obsidian. We're just short on actual details, and the truth of the matter likely lies somewhere in the middle, rather than on one end or the other. But the point is that you don't win any prizes fighting your battles in the court of public opinion. It makes everyone look like a jerk, slowly opens you up to some form of legal trouble, and actually harms your case should you seek to file a lawsuit in the future. Considering that one of Avellone's posts extolls the values of legal advice, it seems odd that he may not have considered that before setting off on this bender.- 742 replies

Chris Avellone: The Final Frontier
Ethics Gradient replied to Infinitron's topic in Computer and Console
You know what's interesting? Chris is currently employed by a subsidiary of Take-Two. Another subsidiary of Take-Two is contracted to be the publisher of the coming Tim Cain project. Avellone's claims may not rise to the level of defamation, but it's certainly actionable if the board of Take-Two is tired of watching him intentionally harm the reputation of a development partner. Was he wronged, passed over, or slighted? Who knows; the conversation is almost entirely one-sided. But I'm sure the artists and QA teams at Obsidian aren't too thankful that he's found this exact moment in time to "speak truth to power". Coming into contact with people who are willing to raze your career to settle a personal score is textbook "worst co-worker" material. You have a problem with a person? Fine. But you lose a tremendous amount of moral high ground if your quest for revenge puts a hundred other employees in the cross-fire.- 742 replies

I think that's how we got this one. Need to start a collection for the next 50. Is there a gofundme for Super Mario Odyssey coins?

The five-month charm offensive finally bore some fruit! Well, that or the team is so delirious with Deadfire fever, a more direct approach finally worked It's possible Aarik just dropped a sneaky preview of a coming code (or one we missed?), but even if that's the case, it's still a win for the home team! #THE_BEST_CM

Aarik has had me imprisoned in the depths of this code mine, toiling away for the last several months! Once I find the 55th code I finally gain my freedom!! Seriously though. If anyone happens to see @Aarik D around, feel free to tell him he's a totally rad guy and an awesome community manager. Perhaps even, the best community manager.
