  1. I kept going back to 6.1 and hunted the 3 allies then quit. I finally got the dragon last night. I can't guess how many tries it took, but it has been 3 weeks since I started this thread.
  2. Will new content allow us to use our best characters and equipment? After playing through 6 deck releases, it would be a real issue to disallow the things that people have worked so hard, or purchased, to obtain. It's hard to see new content functioning like the desktop game. That is, new game , new box, new starter characters. I see some difficult issues to deal with.
  3. I've tried a number of times to farm the blue dragon. Always with no success. It is in my card pool. I try different deck 6 locations. Do I need to stay in Legendary? Any other tips?
  4. On Sajan..... I have played every (11) character through legendary deck 6. Looking for more gameplay, I decided to develop Sajan as a bow master instead of a drunken uncle. I must say, I've been pleasantly surprised. I partnered an inexperienced Sajan with a fully decked Seelah, giving him over strength weapons and items from other characters. In one day, that duo flew through b, 1, 2, 3 and 4. The only replay was the dam (almost a random quest for that duo). I believe that Sajan may be even stronger with deck 6 ranged equipment. And then, his array of support blessings is massive. I always thought that rechargeable healing was a limited bonus. I really like the bow master setup.
  5. Once you get Seelah Ceasless Crusade, Inheritor's Favor and Iomedae's Benediction, she is hands down the most awesome solo character in the game. Note that she encounters monsters so quickly that you must play her as a weapon attacker. I give her 3 Improved Guidance (+3 to any check) and 2 Evangelist (+1 to your check, or recharge for 1-4). These raise your minimum roll substantially for the most difficult checks. Her blessing (Iomedae) and spells all recharge automatically. Before being fully developed, you may miss a recharge on a roll of a 1. I find that 4 weapons and 3 armors are plenty. If they can be recharged even better. I used to carry one heal, but I do not carry it any more. So in the worst case you don't start with a weapon, but you can still handle almost any encounter. Then you cycle so quickly, you get your best weapons and armors in no time. I even will discard non-rechargeable weapon to thin my deck to all blessings and spells. So her weakness is intelligence and dexterity. I've raised the bottom of my rolls by 4 (or more), and I have blessings to recharge....what's the problem?
  6. I went to quest mode and deleted 8 characters and I was then able to go to story mode and after some crashes deleted 5 more. I still have 28 characters, but I am now playing a scenario in story mode for the first time in weeks. So evidently you can't have as many characters as they give you slots. My pid is in the very first post.
  7. I have lots of characters. I expect at least 35. But with over 28 GB and over 6GB available, could that be a problem? At this point, story is still unplayable. Quest mode is not being developed. So any new cards or other purchases have become meaningless. I guess I'll just shelve this. I hate to lose a game that I enjoyed so much.
  8. player 9052 IOS 10.2.1 90% of the time I go to story mode, the app crashes. If I do suceed, I never complete forming a party. I can enter quest mode and complete quest there. Does the app require some minimum of free space? My tablet is pretty full. I can delete some other apps to play PA, but that is not an optimal solution. Thanks
  9. I've been a Pathfinder card game player since the first box set came out. I love the game, and was very happy to see it come to tablet. Here are my expectations, experiences and judgements in no particular. I'm a former IT programmer, project manager, and delivery manager for computer systems software. My first thought was, "I know this game and how complex the actions are, and how numerous are the special situations that have to be managed. I had reservations on the viability of this product. I bought the bundle to start, and I play every character through legendary difficulty. The pace of publishing the deck releases reflected the difficulties of this game. There were many patches along the way. The biggest disappointment was that there were so many game or character breaking bugs in the game. I've lost track of the number progression breaks. I haven't been able to complete a story scenario without restarting my tablet (iOS) since I don't know when. I go to combat, and sometimes I can't play a weapon without reloading the game. Really, is someone driving this dev and test team to deliver product without even a reasonable effort to produce a quality product? Wiping out a player characters cards.!!!.by deck 6 we should be far beyond such a failure. Sorry, but I have to grade this a failure. Not since Pools of Radience on PC (20 years ago?) have I personally experienced a worse delivered product. I totally expected that not all cards would work quite as they are supposed to. However, minor patches and releases should, and have, cleaned up many of these issues. I grade this as a passing to good effort. There has been considerable new content, going beyond the box game. This is an excellent way to enhance the product. I really do appreciate all of it. I rate content very good. I would have given an excellent if quest mode had been completed to support deck six. I play this game on one platform..iOS tablet. I would love to have this on my PC (steam?). This would be a fascinating multiplayer game, but I have no hope of ever seeing that happen. Multiplayer on Steam..oh yes! There is so much unrealized potential that I grade the current platform choice as fair. Then there is application performance. I check my tablet usage stats and this game is an absolute hog on all resources it touches. Memory, battery and network. This suggest some real problems that need to be solved before any additional content is published. Is the main engine design flawed? Are there numerous memory leaks? Do modules need to be written to incorporate all chapters. Has all the patchwork and piecemeal delivery created a unfixable coding monster. I wish that I could play more than two scenarios without having to get out my charger cable. this app consumes more resources than any other app on my tablet, I upgrade the performance to poor because it does so much. I am not really into pricing. I vote with my wallet. I thought the bundle was fair, though remarkably high for an iTunes Store product. The market will make it adjust For the future......I'm not so sure. Based on the current program load, Swords and Shackles would have to be a stand alone product. There is no way you could add it to the current engine and keep it running. I think the best development path is Continue to clean up card errors Eliminate all progression breaks Eliminate all errors that force a player to reload a game Develop multiplayer capability Deliver on steam Add quest levels to support deck 6 And then deliver new content, most likely to quest mode Along the way, make improvements to the program modules. After all the above is done, use the improved engine to deliver the next game. Please reply or like. Thanks for your patience.
  10. Here it is Cyber Monday, and there were no specials. I was a little surprised.
  11. It has been a long time since quest mode has been updated. Something above level 40, so we could use new deck cards, would be really nice. A fix for Barl Breakbone seems to be in order too. Fighting him three times is getting old.
  12. Isn't this a great discussion? Either character will work, but I put both in my six character parties. Some points follow. Ezren, with improved recharge powers is nearly as good as automatic on spells. And with orbs which reach any location, he is automatic. Note that orbs are not archane, and Seoni has to roll a check to recharge them Seoni is the character most likely to run out of cards. Discarding them to use as spells has some risk. Since I use a no-heal party, I would not choose it. Both E and S provide ranged support with orbs and select spells, while maintaining significant fire power. That means killing, not evading, which the lost of a card on the blessing deck. Six party adventures have a high incidence of locations requiring intel or charisma to close. Both of these characters are automatic at closing those locations. Ultimately, the answer as to who is best depends on the rest of your party, party size, and character builds. Any pat answer may not fit your party. So, look for build tips in the responses and decide which helps your party the most. For my parties, I rarely need an attribute boost so that type of support build is unnecessary. But it may be essential for your party build. I use a plethora of recharge abilities and recharging cards, so one mass heal in my party is enough, and usually a wasted card. But not always! I forgot to mention in my original post that I use the paladin in my party. Give her the power to recharge spells and give her improved guidance spells. It is almost like recharging a card for +3 to anything. So she really is a third support person. Enjoy and good luck P.S. I always keep a charm on Ezren. It's like having an extra card in you hand. It's a random ally, and often it's an explore. And it's fun.
  13. Nice Post Ethics Gradient But I differ with you on one important point. 5) HOW TO "STORE" ITEMS Currently there's no way of doing that aside from creating another character or two who's sole role in life is to be added to the party, trade some items, and get kicked back out. Gee, it would be reeallllly nice if there was some sort of, I don't know, "backpack" for characters to stash some cards in. We can only dream that some future update may hook us up... You CAN store items, but not in an immediately obvious way Go to quest, or story, whichever you want to do. Go to Party. Do not advance to scenario. Remove your toon that does NOT have the items to store. Select New, at the top for a character. Add the character from new (not experienced) that you just removed. Notice that your party can have more party members than characters that you have. When you own only two, it is tricky but still possible. I recommend having two copies of each toon that you own. One to go to scenarios into. One to be a mule. Put two copies of each character into your party. I expect that you can put three or more into the party. Nickname them something like Kyrmule1, Lemmule1, Kyrmule2 or whatever the game allows you to do. This is not necessary but makes it easier to track them. You can put two active characters into your party, since you own only two. Put your real Kyra in the party, then put Lemmule1 into the party. Advance to the next screen, and voila....if you are not already in the party items view, then click on the party items. Swap whatever items you can until you are happy. Advance to the next view. Notice....you are not yet in a scenario. Push the party button. Remove Lemmule1 Add Lemm - your real active toon. go adventure
  14. Thank you team. As a big fan, this is a long awaited release and I look forward to many more.
  15. My all time worst roll was playing pencil and paper. Three 12 sided dice.... all 1's. the odds are 1 in 1,728. It happens.
  16. I'm going to answer "difficult to play", where "difficult to win with" would be a different answer. Kyra does one thing very well, Heal. But who needs that much healing?. What others skills does she offer? She excels at killing undead. She is mediocre at other melee, useless at ranged, and has too few spells. So technically, she is the most difficult character to play to get the most out of her. For being such a weak character, you should maximize her blessings and use her as a buffing master. Give her an aid and Find Trap so she can help all the other characters out of a tight spot. Her cure is used to pull her blessing out of her discard pile. You are constantly trying to manage when to use the right blessing and/or spell, so there are many decisions, plus how do you build her? This is more management than other characters require, so I put her in the most difficult to play.
  17. Organize your card loss management. 1. unlucky low rows. Overcome those with universal spells, items and weapons. Those that you can recharge are very important. Harsk has sniping ability. Its great for parties, especially when you don't have healers around. Fully rechargeable. Later you can give him a role power that lets him recharge range weapons at will. That gives you two attacks to another location in one turn. Wow! Seelah, I give her greater or improved guidance and recharge it with inspired grace. Very handy. Inspired Grace must also work with your spells. Ezran. Ever wonder what those orbs are for? Many of them can be used in any location and provide that little extra boost. Improving his recharge ability is key. Also, give him Incanter allies to help recharging. Then, give him a couple area of effect spells. 2. Barriers. Except for Seoni and Ezren, your items should be to defeat barriers. Masterwork tools, chime of unlocking, pole. If you take a damage point, you have something that you can discard without a grievous loss. But all of these are great for defeating barriers. Since everyone likes to load up with blessings, give each character a Blessing of Abadar. Really! It matters. 3. Closing a location. If you don't defeat a location, you lose in the card race. Closing can be really tough at the lowest levels. Have a variety of (blessings) attribute boosters and spread them around your characters. Switch them among characters until you find which combo you like most. At higher levels, you characters can often handle closing locations without help from boons. By the time they have role powers, some of them can recharge a certain blessing and life is simple. 4. Difficult monsters. This is really easy to overcome. First, go out of your way to get any Blessing of Lamashtu you come across. Each character should have one. Its two dice affect works on monsters that require a wisdom or dexterity combat roll (no weapons). Have a smattering of Blessing of Gorham and Erastil. One or two of each in the party should be enough. If you have taken care of the above, you are set to play at the more difficult levels without healers. (I don't count the Seelah as a healer Close to done. You need to consider your selection of characters. Ezran has no blessings. Don't let that keep him out of your deck. He is a real location closer. He can work through a location faster than any other character. Seelah. Ceaseless Crusade is a great asset to get through locations. Don't worry about tossing something good. You will get many opportunities to get the best stuff down the road. Finally, make sure you know how to handle locations. Amiri, her ability to leave a location at the end of a turn changes a difficult location into a cakewalk. Merisiel, simply evade the monster that shows up at the start of your turn Lini, she was made to handle "survive or discard a card" What do you think of this? Give me a "Like". Thanks!
  18. I've looked in setting and searched my ipad. I can't find pfid. where specifically is it?
  19. IPAD IOS 10.0.1 PIFD-2d3c0b871245c600 VER-604-20160902 Playing quest mode, tier 3, with 4 characters. Since I had previously played to tier 4 with 4 characters but discarded them because they had missed a card feat, I had the statue to look at 5 cards for a monster (on Lemm). Barl Breakdown shows up as villain. These were each of the 1st moves with my characters. starting off: I could proceed only if I skipped the review when Barl shows up. So I never found out who the henchmen were. 1. The first encounter was with Ezran. This deck was the one with 1 monster and explore again if you don't find a spell. Picked up two spells and on the third, it asked me if I wanted to close. I never encountered a henchman. I said yes to do something (should not have done that!). Now desk is closed but no idea who the villain was. 2.... then an encounter with fighter. no problem. This deck is the one of the banish an ally if is discarded 3.... Harsk encounters enchanter. no problem. This deck is defeat the trap to close. 4. Lemm fought one monster (won). Then used the statue to look through five cards and find a monster in those 5. Even though this was supposed to be a full deck short of the monster Lemm killed, there were only 3 cards displayed in the deck. The deck counter number was correct. I exited the game. Things are starting to look really bad and I didn't want it to get worse. All 9 of my toons (I bought the bundle) are at level 31. Harsk and Lemm are both at level 30. I'm trying to figure out how to get you my game files.
  20. I hope there are many new cards. I have 100 chest hoarded. I wonder if I'll get to 150 before the release.
  21. I looking forward to new cards from chest. I'll have 100 chest to pull from.
  22. I'm about to spend 20,000 gold for 50 chest. Do I have to open any chest before the next release? Can I hold them until new items for chest are released?
