Also, is there another setting that's easier to learn (and overall better, I guess) than DnD?
Also, do I need to read the Dungeon Master Guide or something?
Let's say, for an aspiring DM, what kind of online resources would one need to learn? I know of http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/srd35 , but is there DM-specific stuff elsewhere as well?
How well-tuned to the ruleset would a DM really need to be?
Any DMs out there mind sharing their experiences?
Yo, dawg, if you're looking for test monkeys, we're currently looking for a DM on Saturday afternoons/evenings for an online session http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?sh...60entry597562
I can adjust to either Friday or Sunday. In terms of reliability, unfortunately, I have to be on call once in a while, so I might have to miss a session every 1-2+ months.
It'd kind of be nice to have a DM or something, though.
I'd DM, but my knowledge of DnD is pretty much limited to CRPGs, so I don't know enough to properly arrange everything.
Okay, these people can make it Saturday afternoon/evening:
Llyranor
Nick
metadigital
Role-Player
Fenghuang
Deadly Nightshade
LoneWolf16
Baley
These people can't, but would make good DMs:
Eldar
Either we find a DM for Saturday, or we try to reschedule to a better day.
Hmm, to all those involved, would Friday or Sunday (similar times, I guess) be a more suited alternatives? Better yet, all those interested should list their preferred times, as well as their acceptable ones.
