  1. Just to make sure this is all 100% clear, Vampire: Bloodlines and Half-Life 2 were both released on November 16th. I know because it's the day my marks did a nose dive :D
  2. I'd answer, but my "From" is 100% accurate, so there's no need.
  3. The strange thing though, is that I don't mind most "chick flicks." I go into them knowing just what to expect. But I certainly didn't consider the movie to be the absolute end all, be all r0x0ring of my b0x0rs given it's Academy Award success. It wasn't utter shyte either though.
  4. I've watched Titanic once. Colour me unimpressed personally.
  5. That's not a nice looking engine at all!!
  6. I think it relies a bit too much on the honor system. What's to stop me from replying in the email with some code like "I have some good news regarding your mother. At last, she is now in recovery. Or just flat out stating "I'm Germany" in an email? I guess it is possible that no one truly "knows" if I'm germany. At the same time, I think it would take the diplomacy out of diplomacy. I'd mass spam an email to 6 different people saying "I'm Germany, attack Austria" or something. At which point I think you'd get a crazy, confused mess of moves where there's no real strategy to the game IMO. Just haphazard moves. Has anyone ever played a game like this one?

Deus Ex is a game that could have ended at probably 3 different points...but didn't. But it didn't feel like it was dragging on. It was a fantastic game experience, and every time I thought I had beaten the game, only to find out I hadn't, was a joy!
  8. The Star Trek universe does not interest me unfortunately. I don't know enough about the additional races, and part of the fun of OBS-3 is me pretending I'm a luciously handsome Austrian ArchDuke. I am afraid I have to respectfully bow out.
  9. "you would think." But are you sure?
  10. No such thing has muted celebrations when Half-Life is concerned. Although, that WAS a muted celebration. Just wait until you see my reaction when Aftermath comes out (or lack thereof, since I'll be too busy playing it none of you will hear of me. OBS-3 better be done by then )

    Deus Ex for the win.
  12. Hmmm, I guess it couldn't fix itself. But it can always be fixed. I bet HK though, could actually fix himself in some ways.
  13. Opposing Source!?!?!?!?! OMFGZROXORZollio!!!!ESESes
  14. I suspect KOTOR will be around for some time to come.
  15. Me neither!!!! (w00t)
  16. OOOOOooOoooOOOO Those guys r0x0r my b0x0rs!!!!
  17. The only debates I have ever been in consisted of a rigid format of "state position" for both sides followed by "rebuttal" for both sides. Ant that is it. These are just arguments
  18. He's clearly losing his skills in his old age.
  19. I still think Mr. Spector included since he's one of three people that has to die in the game. is the most obvious one however, as it will get you an item that you need.
  20. Yeah, I was looking at it and it doesn't seem to be a ginormous loss for Turkey, as he'll still get to rebuild it.
  21. In Guild Wars, you can respect almost whenever you want. You just need to acquire refund points (which isn't all that hard, but prevents you from dynamically changing whenever you want) for your attribute points. You can also completely change your secondary class if you want.
  22. Errr.....I don't think they created new textures for the low-res models. As far as I can tell, they are the original textures from Half-Life. But those textures aren't bumpmapped or anything of the like. They are the defacto standard textures from the original game. If you wanted bumpmapping and pixel shading, then you'd probably have to create new textures. If they wanted to use the pixel shading of Source with the newer models from Blue Shift, then I'm pretty sure they'd have to redo the textures. Otherwise, it'd just be the "standard" Blue Shift models.
  23. I remember hearing three, but I can only think of 2 off the top of my head. . And no, you can be sneaky around the German. Although it is hard to not kill him.
  24. It's not just you. He's compared the entire industry to his recent experiences with Baldur's Gate, a game which is older than two games he mentioned he enjoyed in the same post (Icewind Dale 2 and Planescape: Torment).
  25. They'd need to create new textures, not new models though. I'm pretty sure the textures need to support the bump-mapping and pixel shading effects, otherwise they would have simply turned them on since there'd be zero additional work for HL: Source (unless they current textures would look like absolute ass with the bumpmapping and pixel shading).
