I really like Dresden

Yeah I just found it by accident. For that screen, you click and click. Someone else must have implemented it compared to the other inventory stuff I picked up shadowrunner etiquette along with my street etiquette too.

Game devs starting to call out some of the *crazy* vitriol
alanschu replied to alanschu's topic in Computer and Console
The important thing is, do you think it will stop if people do nothing? Do you think it's plausible for everyone to not react? If not, is it still a productive thing to allow it in some capacity? I am able to do this. But it also means that I'm no longer taking part in the discussion with other people that I was enjoying. I certainly have some people on ignore on this forum, but it can still be hard seeing quotes in other posts of the person misconstruing what I am saying and so forth. My lack of response to that individual often doesn't stop them. Especially if it's the type of argumentative chap that does so because he's not trying to convince me to change my position, but because he's trying to convince others about the merits of his position. If I see that someone is calling me a liar and attempting to discredit me, it takes a strong will to do nothing about it. I don't always have that. Should I be the one to do so? Is it better for that to happen? There are very much trolls who intend to derail topics of discussion simply to close them. I have seen them on BSN, and I have seen it happen on threads on this forum as well (some of them I even started). By derailing a thread, they effectively stop discussion because everyone decides to move on. This is not a good thing, and it's precisely what they want. -
Only if you think that someone should only put points into Charisma to gain the Shaman stuff (i.e. not me). On something completely unrelated.... is there a secret to buying cyberware? I seem unable to drag them over. I have the money, still have 5 essence, but no dice. Dosen't seem to stick :\

I'd still love it if the game was voiced. I understand why they didn't, however. I have had 2 decker opportunities early (although one I think just bypassed a puzzle), as well as some etiquettes (that I didn't have) as well. I like the use of character abilities going forward

Blog with Graham Wihlidal (Senior BioWare Programmer)
alanschu replied to alanschu's topic in Developers' Corner
To be fair, he WAS in elementary school (wrt to LOGO haha) -
I enjoyed this (only made it to page 5... hometime suckas) http://qareacts.tumblr.com/

I made references to this chap for doing super creative stuff with the Cell processor (I believe Sony made that shirt for him) Wanted to share this here, although it's less "How to become a game programmer" and more "how to go miles above and beyond and become a child prodigy." One of my favourite people and wanted to gloat that I am therefore cool by association <.< Easily one of the smartest people I know too. http://blog.bioware.com/2013/07/25/staff-blog-graham-wihlidal-senior-software-engineer/

Austria's summers are like ours, although our winters more routinely dip below -20C, however. At least in Alberta. Yay continental climate zones!

It definitely appeals as a source of nationalistic pride. Honestly you can probably equate it somewhat with firearms in the US.
-
That's pretty much the way it is for me too. I am just associating "Decker" with "Hacker" haha.
-
My friend also loaded up a Physical Adept, due to his love of him meleeing things (it's become a running joke that I will sass his avoidance of firearms, and he will sass my embracing of firearms, from FONV to now this ). I was leaning towards rifle, but think that handgun may be better suited for a Decker type. I haven't invested any skills into specializations yet, but will have to mull it over (since I doubt there are cloud saves for this beastie I'll need to redo the start anyways).
-
Fair enough. I didn't know this, so I didn't want to spoil for others (I never played the original). It was a great surprise for my friend who just shared his experience with me on Steam (since he didn't follow the game). So on that grounds, I considered it a spoiler as he found it awesome and unexpected. Especially with the "I wonder if sending me to a morgue is an homage to the original?" (Remember, not everyone actively follows the development of a game either).
-
I guess there's a pretty clear homage to the SNES version XD (I know it, but no spoilers for others)

Depends on how much work (if any) may have already been done. They may have also just wanted to do it this way, as they can cater the rule system to the setting that they want to create as well. -
We all just started playing today too!

The levels were all reasonably short I found, and it seems an autosave happens when you change levels. In the early going it'd be about 5-10 minutes it seems, assuming you figure "I just have to finish this level first" 2 seconds after the previous save point as being a not entirely insane way of assessing the system.
-
The looting is meh. The saving was a bit annoying, as I told my boss I had to finish this level. Fortunately, he understood

That works on a personal level. Sometimes it's fine. It does suck when it prevents you from doing something that you want to do, however (whether it be interneting or anything else). It's actually part of the vicious circle of people that suffer from anxiety attacks (they avoid doing things that make them anxious, which frustrates them and causes anxiety in and of itself). As to whether or not it solves the problem, I would consider it somewhat ineffective. I am currently taking a break from the BSN because I got frustrated about some stuff that went on there. Is that advantageous for those that (hypothetically) enjoyed interacting with me there? If LadyCrimson gets annoyed at ObsBoards, don't we all lose!? -
Ah, so games like Fallout 3 and Oblivion are not really good examples of how to make an RPG, and they don't have romances. By deduction, I conclude that in order to make a good RPG it should have romances. Thanks!

Yes, along with who knows what other strings may be attached in order to get the license. -
I did notice that. I admit it's a bit surreal to come to grips with the fact that I'm older than him! For some reason I always pegged him as a Black Isle "old timer" and as such, most likely at least a few years older than I am!

First levels in. Enjoying it so far. Went as a Decker with some boosts to charisma, decking, and firearms.

Lunchtime plans. Loading now. Sometimes I love my job

BREAK BREAK - 'Total Domination' warning

It's the type of thing that may reek of huge scam, yes. Doesn't mean it necessarily is, but at the same time should we support those that do blatantly steal IP?
