  1. We'll see. It might just provide that open wasteland that the first game didn't really provide (unless you include the little dot on the Pip Boy minimap to really be "exploring the wasteland.")
  2. Because I didn't remember the AM2 when I posted (mostly because I didn't really know about it). Having said that, a socket 939 is still better than the Socket 754, and IMO the AM2 isn't really all that huge of an upgrade over the 939...not compared to the improvement the 939 saw over the 754.
  3. If you have the motherboard, I'd consider it. But I wouldn't recommend anything that wasn't Socket 939.
  4. Ah. Well at least your lack of Combat Mission updates was because you were busy saying intelligent stuff.
  5. That is a prety big if. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Depends. Many people seem to really like Oblivion. Including yourself. Are they really that incapable of making a quality game?
  6. Are we talking about converting some of the Earth's matter into energy? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, in the sense that Earth's matter is consumed by people and those people subsequently jump. Same goes for whatever mechanism fires the big giant thingamajig.
  7. How contained is the system, really? I guess it is pretty contained because we can't really jump at escape velocity. Lets say we built something that could exert enough force on the planet to actually alter the orbit of the planet. Naturally, this would likely result in that object skyrocketing off into space itself as you'd need an ass load of force to do that. Now, hypothetically (and I'm talking hypothetically...like really hypothetically), if the population of the planet, were able to put a combined net force that is similar to our big object earlier by jumping, what would happen?
  8. True. They could act differently knowing they are being observed. Of what?
  9. I'll be taking a video camera and popcorn to enjoy the theatrics.
  10. I'm playing "WTF why won't this GUI do WTF I want it too!" It's good times!
  11. Is this even after the fact? Though I wouldn't be surprised. I doubt the extension is to address the DMC.
  12. I knew that. And I'm sure he did. He was using his artistic license to make it fir the situation naturally.
  13. Seems pretty insignificant to me.
  14. I think they should more analyze the woeful insignificance of the the force we could exert.
  15. What about in co-op? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmmmm...you know what.....you may be right. I am clearly rendered (as the other person sees me). I don't know if our character models actually cast shadows or not. I'm pretty sure I don't, to myself. Hmmm
  16. I think nature is being personified a bit too much in this thread.

If Raycroft's last season was the anomaly and he goes back to his Rookie of the Year form, then it was a solid pickup.
  18. Err, perhaps to clarify, it wasn't my parents that got sucked away. "Fortunately" I didn't know the victims. But it was pretty freaky. Trees gettings completely uprooted. Never seen anything like it before. Scariest time I can remember was Black Friday
  19. It's unusual for the charcter to be rendered in game, as it's typically not necessary (this is why you don't cast a shadow in Doom 3). It's becoming more common though. Well, unless they find a way to cast shadows in games like Farcry in a different way.
  20. I remember when we had sudden gail force winds in my area, and people that were wind surfing and doing various water sports on a Lake near my parents got sucked away and killed as a result.
  21. No, you'd have your legs upside down on each side. It'd look bunk!
