  1. I'm actually not sure it could emulate it properly, given the architecture of the chip. I suppose anything is possible.
  2. CTO = Chief Technical Officer?
  3. My first idea was Techno-babble, but maybe that's too colliquial. My other boring though was Hardware Forum....but I guess it's not just limited to Hardware.
  4. I'd love to see the reaction from the international community and Israel's allies if Israel decided to start launching nuclear warheads.
  5. Fair enough. I like Jack Bauer, I like JD (though he's now dead), and Grissom is growing on me as well
  6. Actually this makes perfect sense, as I've seen the laptop we use at work frequently get used on the big screen for meetings, and I have seen it with the notebook's screen both on and off. I also have noticed no real difference in performance while splitting the signal, though we are just running around with NWN so it might not be a demanding enough of a game.
  7. Which is actually part of the reason why I haven't purchased a console for any of these games. As it turns out, I'm a bit lucky as the games have been coming to the PC as well. I wouldn't be surprised if Mass Effect comes to PC as well, and I want to do my part to tell the publishers and Bioware that I am willing to buy PC games.
  8. Hahahaha GOLD! Definitely a moment of realization.
  9. That's the boo-urns. Since I've stopped doing that, I have found RPGs more enjoyable as it means my actions do indeed have consequences.
  10. Unless I'm horribly mistaken, from a performance point of view, the game itself will render at the resolution the game is set at. Meta's explanation seems reasonable for what would happen to your laptop screen. In the worst case, I would expect that the laptop screen would go black as it is incapable of displaying the resolution specified. Kind of like when I tried running things at 1600x1200 on my old CRT. I don't know if a flat panel would respond any different than a CRT. As for the desktop view, you'd probably get pieces of the desktop truncated or something like that.
  11. Wouldn't the resolution be determined by the application itself. If anything I'd suspect it'd force both montiors into that resolution, and you'd get stretching and stuff in the one you weren't using. If dual monitors required renderings for both monitors (when it's just a split image), playing a game at high resolution with full on AF and AA effects would be a very large performance hit. An easy way to test is to see your performance with a single monitor attached, and with two.
  12. As an expansion to a game made for XP though?
  13. If you "Fixed!" some of his posts, he tends to start doing that of his own volition "
  14. I'd be surprised if it was actually rendering two separate images. The workload for that would be intense, especially if your resolution is high.
  15. It'll come eventually. I no longer absolutely need to get something as soon as humanly possible. Besides, would you rather they stick with the original release date and just have them release it regardless of the state it is in?
  16. In both cases, they're under the threat of being crushed by by Roman Empire!
  17. The show seems rather repetitive IMO. Some disease/problem arises, House Comes in, insults people, suggests an alternative, meets, resistance, insults some people, turns out to be correct. Though I guess most shows can be repetitive in some way To each her own I guess
  18. It's actually not all that uncommon to have the max details outstrip current consumer technology.
  19. Given I haven't even though of Pluto in about 3 years (and that was only because I was taking an astronomy class), in retrospect I don't think I'll lose much sleep over this.
  20. Does that even make any sense? In any case, I'm curious how much experience you have with battle.net people, given that their games certainly are not your cup of tea.
  21. Is this relevant though? If the people of the world still say it's a planet, then people will still refer to it as a planet, regardless of what this vote concluded.
  22. Philosophy time... If you had an infinite number of monkeys working on an infinite number of typewriters, would you get the works of Shakespeare instantaneously? EDIT: I think that that is the point.
