  1. I was never really bothered by the linearity of the games. I am currently infilitrating Kalinatek.

I remember TSN actually commenting that on a points per game basis, Sid the Kid has had the lead for quite some time this season. He hasn't missed any games has he? The difference is purely based on the number of games the team has played?

Jagr has also played three extra games. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought it was 4. Sidney Crosby is a really, really, really good hockey player.
  4. Who says it hasn't? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, obviously it hasnt since we're so vigorously discussing what a pancea "free drugs" would be. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't recall anyone vigorously discussing what a panacea it would result in. You're taking things as an absolute extreme to strengthen your position. However, since you think this already exists, dig up some simple crime statistics. Curious where you got the 1 billion dollar value from? How frequently does someone sue a liquor establishment during a vehicular homicide under the influence of alcohol? What about the circumstances. You're assuming that the clinic that provides this would allow people to just go off driving away. It's not like it's a for profit organization where a bar owner sees monetary benefit for continuing to serve alcohol to someone that has already drank too much. The bar gets more money, and by not ratting out a regular customer, continued money. That's what that can be seen as a problem. There's no financial interest in a clinic for people with drug addictions to allow someone to drive intoxicated, or to continue serving them drugs beyond what they need.
  5. I think that that is a large part of the issue. It seems many people go in with the goal of roleplaying a Lawful Good (for example) character, so if they get any Chaotic/Evil points, they overanalyze the circumstances and start complaining, because their lawful good character should apparently never get evil/chaotic points.
  6. KOTOR is also game where you have party members, without any sort of Select All or drag boxes.
  7. Except I hadn't been spotted the entire game! It's right at the beginning of the level too.
  8. Who says it hasn't?
  9. It does?
  10. Err, we're talking about the prospect of providing these drugs to drug addicts, through government channels. Just now you decide to bring this up? Besides, you make it sound like heroin would become available at your local drugstore. Unlikely.
  11. Except that the fact the substance is illegal inflates its price. I'd imagine the $60 a day, like a lot of drugs, involves insane markups.
  12. Perhaps you should look at the definition of persecution that metadigital provided again.
  13. As I didnt see this in the article, I can only guess your pulling it out of thin air. Unless the UK police force is so unbelievably inept as to cost themselves tens of thousands of pounds in the process of typing a single report, there is no way this can be true. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why would heroin cost tens of thousands of pounds to make?

And yet the movie enemy at the gates is a classic example of over exaggerating Hollywood made rubbish. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What's your point? He was talking about the movie Stalingrad, not Enemy at the Gates.
  15. You mean at the very beginning? I'll check. EDIT: It's inconsistent. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I don't know if it's a bug, or if it's just the way the game was designed. I noticed shadows on the roof when I was crawling along the pipe over some fire, and along the wall in one of the stairwells. Not too often at my feet however. EDIT2: Unfortunately, my game seems to explode on the oil rig. Forces a reboot of my computer when watching the cutscene of the technician
  16. I never really understood this complaint. I mean, saying stuff to make someone trust you in order to have them talk to you isn't really all that unlike reality. If someone doesn't really like you, why should they talk to you about stuff they don't want to talk to you about?
  17. In what way does the party member restriction relate to the story however?
  18. This doesn't prove your statement. All you're saying is that it was worse when they got to the USA. You can't deduce that they weren't leaving because of persecution. Well, it is quite close to Ireland, and you know, people are dying and all that. I'm guessing it was significantly cheaper to move to Great Britain. In order to make a conclusion though, you'd have to see what these people did after they arrived in Great Britain. They may have stayed temporarily, and emigrated the main island shortly afterwards. Such actions were not uncommon throughout all of medieval europe though. But, in your own words, they hadn't been sovereign for "centuries" :] Unfortunately, the perception of the people is what matters. If they feel they are being persecuted, then that is a viable reason for the emigration. If, upon hindsight, we look at it and say "You know, it wasn't really persecution" based on some application of the definition, it wouldn't mean that those that left because they felt they were being persecuted are wrong. Having said that, I'm not sure how you can say that "it was Governmental stupidity and an unwillingness to disrupt the cash flow they were getting from Ireland's other food exports" while still holding the idea that they were not subjected to ill-treatment. Maintaining the food exports of Ireland while the people are starving in a famine is not ill-treatment? And you could argue that you might be a bit bias in favour of it. It seems as though you live there based on your other posts, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if you're defensive about it. However, I believe Meta is also a Brit as well.
  19. I declare meta the winner!
  20. I was looking for it. I do seem to have character shadows (I noticed them in the security room upstairs in the police station of tblisi (the demo level. My goodness I must have played that one 100 times) EDIT: Man, this game is still crazy fun. Though I find myself trying to get myself out of tight situations like in Chaos Theory, where Sam has a plethora of close combat moves to incapacitate enemies. Not so in the first two. But the story is still a gooder as far as I'm concerned.
  21. IIRC, the epilogue for the third one was a bit short. I just finished installing the original. See you all next week

Agreed Kor. It was an entertaining game. Too bad Mr. Kariya was able to make that sweet pass to Legwand. I thought for sure we were going to tie it up at the end. What a chance by Torres!
  23. Aeris is from Final Fantasy.
  24. Been a while since I played Pandora Tomorrow. Maybe I'll dig up the old copies and play through them again.
  25. Of course it's a spoiler if she hasn't played it. Let's step through the logic: Darque hasn't played game, someone tells her something about the game, now the surprise (and possibly her enjoyment) is spoiled. Hence: spoiler. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think the situation is compounded by the fact that she said "Hey, I'm playing NWN at the moment." It's one thing to talk about it in an open discussion and given its age, I wouldn't lose much sleep (any sleep) if someone mentioned it without hiding it in a spoiler tag. But when someone says "Hey I'm playing the game," it's a bit bizarre to just go out and state straight up what the end of the game is like. Even if she already has been spoiled from previous discussions. If someone where to pick up Ultima VII ( a 13 year old game now ), I wouldn't just blab the ending suddenly to them.
