  1. Brian Heins podcast (42:26 onwards): https://soundcloud.com/usgamernet/axe-of-the-blood-god-episode-49-salt-sanctuary-and-an-interview-with-tyranny-director-brian-heins God I hate having to listen to podcasts. If it was just a written article I would be over with it way sooner.
  2. http://www.amazon.de/Paradox-1014953-Pillars-Eternity-Game/dp/B019I9TMSO/ Base game + expansions. Everything is written in German though, including the manual inside the box. it was only released in Germany afaik.
  3. Huh. Here's something I wasn't aware of: the original Stormlands had the exact same concept as this game. NeoGAF post from 2012: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=36021079&postcount=202
  4. This game's been in development since at least February 2014. Check out Brian Heins's Linkedin page.
  5. Apparently Avellone was Tyranny's creative lead: https://twitter.com/ChrisAvellone/status/711233860340621312
  6. That engine is ****ing awful and is the reason for why I'm not playing any NWN games other than Mask of the Betrayer.
  7. The Tyranny forum is off-site? Lame. By the way, looks like my prediction was correct: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/83330-which-games-would-you-like-obsidian-to-develop-the-most/page-7?do=findComment&comment=1784500 That writer has since changed 'unannounced project' to Tyrrany on his profile.
  8. Looks like it officially has a subreddit now https://www.reddit.com/r/HumanResourcesTheGame/
  9. Wrong Matt. =p At least I got the project lead right. Edit: Then I guess this is the right Matt? The dates seem to add up. https://www.linkedin.com/in/matthew-perez-4631672a Designer Obsidian Entertainment February 2014 – Present (2 years 2 months)
  10. https://twitter.com/Obsidian/status/709740996582465536 https://twitter.com/Obsidian/status/709751082021326848 Seems like "Evil" really is a theme in the game and the Paradox quiz wasn't just random. Also, I think this is somewhat notable: https://twitter.com/Obsidian/status/709423012693540864 The Obsidian twitter somewhat confirmed this game isn't related to Pathfinder as some of us suspected.
  11. Matt MacLean and Brian Heins? https://www.linkedin.com/in/toonces * Designer on Neverwinter Nights 2 (PC) * Writer on Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer (PC) * Lead System Designer on Alpha Protocol (PC/Xbox360/PS3) * Area Designer on Fallout: New Vegas (PC/Xbox360/PS3) * Systems Lead on Dungeon Siege III (PC/Xbox360/PS3) * Lead Designer on South Park (PC/Xbox360/PS3) * Writer on Pillars of Eternity (PC) * Designer on Unannounced Project https://www.linkedin.com/in/bheins Project Director Obsidian Entertainment February 2014 – Present (2 years 2 months)
  12. Pillars of Eternity 2? Either that or Stormlands Revived if Paradox is the one who picked up that project.
  13. You cannot load a Trial of Iron save from in game (only from the main menu), and quitting overwrites the save, which is also deleted on game over. Only thing you can do to save the situation is to Alt+F4, or close the process in Task Manager, but then whats the point of Trial of Iron. This is why using Trial of Iron is dumb. Especially if you're the type of person to want a refund after dying.
  14. Yep. But it should be noted that reading it can be a bit confusing because of the way the text is organized.
  15. The whole point of Trial of Iron is that you can't make multiple saves "just in case." If you die, that's it, game over. Saving doesn't require making multiple save files. I don't see anything about this that would require another save file. If he saw he was getting wrecked in whatever battle he was walking into he could've just reloaded without trying to see it through.
  16. Was there really any need to post this thread twice? On topic: no way to know. And to answer your other thread: no.
  17. What the hell? Out of Obsidian's 200 employees, they literally only have 20 of them working on Pillars. Throughout Obsidian's history, they have always been working on at least three games at the same time. As an independent studio, they pretty much *have* to. This isn't like Bioware where they constantly and only release Dragon Age and Mass Effect sequels because they have EA backing them.
  18. Did you expect a gaming magazine-level civilized interview here? This is the Codex, and therefore the interview was designed to attempt to answer the most common questions on that forum without appearing biased. And believe me when I say that the interviewer (Infinitron) is one of the most outspoken Obsidian supporters over there.
  19. Would it have killed you to save the game before doing that, just in case? Seems like common sense to me. Anyway, I generally don't have any sympathy for people who choose to use Trial of Iron and then complain about stuff like this. That's what you get for trying to be "hardcorez!!!11!" tbh
  20. So I was doing some digging on Obsidian's employees and found this: https://www.linkedin.com/in/pkirsch This is a new narrative designer at Obsidian who's been working on their unannounced game since July 2015. The description has something particularly of note: Unless I'm missing anything, does this mean the reincarnated Stormlands is going to be on the Unity engine? Either that or it's an entirely different game.
  21. I still don't fully get this. Why couldn't they get Avellone to do the writing on South Park or something? Is it possible he was asked to but refused? I'm pretty sure he also didn't want to be the lead on an Obsidian-developed Torment successor back when they were deciding on what Kickstarter to do.
