Stretch goal discussion!
theBalthazar replied to TheisEjsing's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Me too. But is it steam achievement ? Perhaps it is only "clear the game". Or internal achievements. General achievements ? (kill adra dragon, found all soulbound item) And also, developpers will surely give a function to disable these bonuses. That said, indeed, it is not the same thing if you build in NG+ and build in NG. I perceive your position. There is the denatured effect of NG+ which can be annoying. EDIT : But if I understand, there is a raise of difficulty in NG+ ? So if the format is different, is less disturbing.

One Word - Multiclassing!
theBalthazar replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)There an another problem with multiclass. For "normal player" the game must stay readable. So... When you start the game, optimization cannot be an obligation. The game must be playable with all configurations. Eventually, PoTD is less concerned by this effect. (Players must knows all the mecanics).

One Word - Multiclassing!
theBalthazar replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)It is impossible to perfect balance a game with multi-class. PoE 1 himself is NOT balanced. There is clearly classes better than others. So, the job of developpers is to reduce the large differences between classes. But, in fact, you cannot remove all difference of theorical scale of power.

One Word - Multiclassing!
theBalthazar replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)In term of access of spells, the chanter need always 9 levels for dragon thrash ? Or it is 75 % also with access of power ? Because there is the level of power. Scale each spell. But for unlocked each level of spells and others, it is the same concept ?

One Word - Multiclassing!
theBalthazar replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)From a certain point of view, a build should never be missed, you know. It is even written on Sawyer's table^^ "Some combos are too weak"

One Word - Multiclassing!
theBalthazar replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)It is a bad idea, because, all set up like Class 1 - class 19, the "class 1" will have a very bad accuracy...

One Word - Multiclassing!
theBalthazar replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Accuracy calcul for spells and talents will be integrate in "power source", no ? For me, a power source is a multiplicator. [Valor of spell x power source multiplicator]. And for special case, special valor like +1 missile, each x power level source. AND in power source we have a multiplicator for accuracy. It is almost certain. Like : Wizard level 1 : MMM - 3 missiles +10 accuracy. Wizard level 10 : MMM - 6 missiles + 16 accuracy. AND^^ there is always base class accuracy of each class for each level like PoE 1.

theBalthazar replied to Infinitron's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I like this system. MMM = Minor Missile of minoletta. At the start = 3 missiles ? And with levels, there is a progression like NWN. (All x power levels, +1 missile) So, there is a progression on low-level spells. It is a very good idea. G.G. Sawyer. My choice is done = Pure wizard : p

One Word - Multiclassing!
theBalthazar replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The problem is : With a great team, you can do everything at 5. ( The true Reason to stay at 5 for Obsidian ?^^) Indeed, with 6 characters, multiclass with this system is totally and even more useless. Everything will depend on the level of weakness compared to pure class character as Max said. You are talking about : Yes, but if I don't need versatility ? With 5 characters you are already versatile. My opinion : "Average overall effect." A Wizard / Cypher ? If this charac do 2 actions. I can do 2 actions of wizard. You know ?^^ So ^^ Finally, the ONLY thing that can change the deal is the passive bonuses. (The barbarian come to my mind first) But the passives bonus seems to be referent of power scale. So Barbarian 1 / Fighter 19 = really bad. (If i understand the system). Wait and see but... I have doubts.

One Word - Multiclassing!
theBalthazar replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I think pure class will be better than multi-class. I smell it... With 5 characters, I prefer that each guy do the best. 100 % and not 75 %. Josh has in mind balancing way, but like as presented, I think pure class stay better than multi. In this game, each of 5 characters do his job. There is no place generally (for me) for 36 000 actions (All battles close in 15 seconds max in PoE). So I prefer widely 5 pure class character, accurate and powerful... Multi-class become totally useless with this system.

theBalthazar replied to Infinitron's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Completely disagree. Druid is interresting because you have 15 seconds with transformation. If you skip spells and you have only that : I prefer widely a barbarian. Constant and AoE. The druid class is very subtle. He is a conditional warrior AND a spellcaster. No, he must stay with his concept. BUT, indeed, increase one or other side of its possibilities. Shapeshifter ? Transfo more powerful. Master of the elements ? Spells more accurate and powerful.

theBalthazar replied to Fluffle's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Bastard is not an insult. Mostly relative in what you are a bastard. This can be prestigious, funny, ridiculous or more insulting indeed. But there is the choice. The way we present them will do the rest. It is a great name for pirates. And it is more a tribute.

theBalthazar replied to TheisEjsing's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Necromancer can be cool. Chanter has this power for exploding the dead, after all. This dark aspect of Pillars of eternity can match with the "necromancer" like diablo 2. If not a "Pirate" class ? Specialist of ranged weapon + explosion (like a barbarian effect). A ranger more powerful and ranged but without pet and not specifically focus on accuracy.
