Before you go walking into the trap (where mira gasses you and she takes over) have all the things you need for her free in the inventory. Good weapon, headgear, shields, armor if you want (though I think her jacket is better), implants, everything. Have all that stuff just free in your inventory and you can equip her and level her up right before the fight with hanharr.

I find the best thing to do is fill up her flurry shot. Launch a wrist rocket at them from a distance and use flurry shot while they run towards you. Give her some skills in the computer because you can clear out two rooms by overloading the terminals.

You dont want to set your security at 99. Some doors are locked as part of the quest. They are supposed to be impossible to open until you have progressed to a certain point. If you have security at 99 you can open those doors and possibley ruin the quest by entering an area too soon. You wont need any skill over 50 in this game.

THere is a really easy fix to the telos academy bug. When you speak with handmaiden do not just drop your weapons. Ask her why, refuse, say anything, but dont just drop your weapons. When you argue with handmaiden, Kreia will stop you and you will see a short movie with kriea and atton in force cages. If you do not see this movie the game will not progress properly.

This is just my personal preference, but when I play dark side, I go through the cave to get the crystals, go to the enclave to get a lightsaber part from Jorran (the scavenger who's stuck there). Then I leave and do another planet or two (Onderon and Nar Shaddaa) before finishing Dantooine, because the final part of the planet is hard to do at lower levels. But the loot in the crystal cave and even the enclave is nice to have early on. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe its just me but I find master vrook to be tougher than the others in the council. If I play darkside I do not go to dantooine first because I wait to level up to face vrook. I usually go to dxun first because you have to make two trips there anyway and canderous is a good shooter to have.

Pay attention to the top of the HKs head. When he is shaking and says "losing power master" he will silently count down his self destruct (numbers appear above his head). If you rush him he blows up immedietely. Just wait, it takes a little while for him to count down.

I dont know what pwned is. I guess I'm supposed to be offended but I just dont really care. I find it amusing that you folks go to such great lengths to defend obsidian and make lucasarts look so evil. So much speculation as to why you are right and everyone else is wrong. Its true that lucasarts does control the rights to all star wars products and can keep a project from being released but they would still have to pay the company for producing it. They can offer bonuses (money or the promise of future contracts) for an early release but that is up to the software developer. Lucasarts is a large and successful company because it has made some great games over the years. Blaming the big bad corporation for all problems just because they are rich is just plain simple-minded. It is amusing though. I have seen idol worship of music artists, atheletes, and actors, but I have never seen idol worship of a software developer. You guys are really funny. -

You guys are living in a fantasy world. Lucasarts is powerful in what way? Do they have enforcers that break your legs when you dont do what they say? Obsidian did what they did because they wanted lucasarts dollars not out of fear. You guys sound like a bad detective novel. -

If all you say is true then it is truely a miracle that bioware was able to release KOTOR with a complete ending on time, given that they are dealing with Lucasarts who have obviously fallen to the dark side. Look there are a lot of games that are not finished in time and have a butchered platform, code, or ending and the blame is on the developers. Its their contract and they agreed to do it. They are supposeed to know how long and how much talent they need. If they dont they either lose further contracts with the franchise and/or go out of business. (Troika is a good example of this). Bioware's team was laid off of KOTOR 3 but it looks like they are still in business, for now. They wont be if they continue butchering games. Because, no one will hire them. Its still a great game though. It would be nice if they released a gold edition or something of that sort with a complete ending. -

I know this is obsidian's forum but you cant blame lucasarts for wanting their game finished on schedule. The fact is that Obsidian is a professional software developer and should know how long and how much staff is necessary to finish the project on time or dont accept the contract. I always hear from companies that dont finish their game two things: 1. We worked around the clock. 2. They didnt give us enough time. THEN DONT BE GREEDY AND HIRE MORE PEOPLE!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually Lucasarts pushed their schedule four months ahead before it was supposed to be finished. It was never supposed to be a Christmas release. It was supposed to be a SPRING release. This is how I see it: Obsidian: Okay. We have five months before the deadline, people! Hm. We might finish ahead of schedule. (as in a month or two) Lucasarts overhears this conversation Lucasarts: Ahead of schedule you say? Hmmm. we might release this in time for Christmas sales! We want it done in December! Obsidian: But sir, I never said we'd be done before then! Lucasarts: Well I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles! DEAL WITH IT! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And, you heard this from whom? For all you know Obsidian was asked to push ahead and maybe even offered more money and took it. Its all about money at the end of the day. If it isnt done right then its all about excuses and blaming everyone else but yourself. You dont know much about contractual law. If the contract was for spring then BOTH sides have to agree to change it. -

GOTO and the probe at the end of the game are in the room that turns on the shadow generator. Is this what is happening? 1. Dark side: GOTO destroys the probe and keeps the generator off, saving malachor V and the sith academy. 2. Light side: The probe beats GOTO, turns on the generator and destroys malachor V and the academy and you get away on the ebon hawk. Am I right? Is that it?

If you want to delete manually, use the windows search and enter kotor for all files and folders. That should bring them all up including the windows prefetch which usually doesnt get deleted for some reason. -
Have 18CON but can't use 18CON implants, why?
Bogj replied to Arnkell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
With the implants and gadgets in part 2 I dont anyones stats up other than con. The really powerful stuff is just lying around in this game. -
Now where did you guys get that? How do you know the writers didnt make the word up? How do you know it doesn't mean "foul smelling" or "poorley dressed"? Its not like you looked it up in the dictionary.

I recently downloaded a savegame editor. I found that there is some dialog you can get from kriea and hk, they are the only ones ive found so far, that you cant get without altering their influence beyond maximum. I had hk and krieas influence at 100 and had the alignment they wanted and still got an inf failure unitl i used the editor to set their influences to 999.

GOTO is just useless, especially his character specific devices. But, the guy I cant stand the most isn't on the survey. Anyone who would run out on a teenage girl and let her die to save his own skin is worthless, CARTH. They should have found a way to exile him on that junk planet light or dark side. I can't believe they brought him back for part 2.

You guys can't keep blaming Lucasarts. Obsidian has to take most of the blame for not finishing. If you order a house to completed by a contruction company by a certain date and they miss it and are really late, it is not permissible to have most of the house complete but leave the roof off of some rooms and not finish some of the walls. The construction company can't say its the buyers fault because they rushed us. They were hired and accepted a contract to be fullfilled at a certain date. Obsidian is a professional software company and they should be able to finish a game when they say they will. Just like your house should be completely finished when they say it will.

So far I have found that Krie and HK both have influence failures if you have perfect influence (100) and perfect alignment (completely dark for HK, neutral for Kriea). I went online and found a KOTOR save game editor and set their influences to 999 each. THat loosened their tongues.

I god the very latest ATI catalyst control center and drivers and it did NOT fix the problem. I got the drivers straight from the ATI website.

I've had problems with influence. I used an influence walkthrough and never got influence success with some characters. I gave up and got a KOTOR save game editor. Some of those guys will have an influence failure with an influence of 100 (which is max), like Kriea and HK. I set their influence to 999 and had no more problems.
-
I had this exact problem with KOTOR 1 and 2. I believe it is a problem with non-nvidia graphics cards. Nvidia uses a technique called called vertex buffer objects to speed up the graphics. If you add DisableVertexBufferObjects=1 to your config file it should fix the graphics.

I really like KOTOR II but the ending makes no sense. What are you a wound or echo, and what is that? What is Malachor, other than a place where you did battle in the past? Is that a sith base? Are they real sith, and if not how are they different? What is a shadow generator? Was it activated or not? What was the remote doing and the other droid for that matter? Am I the only one that did not get the ending at all?
