  1. I just hate how gamers talk about challenge when reload is the lamest mechanic ever. I pretty much never play above normal on any game but always with ironman rules. So much more fun and immersive. Then the forum is full of people saying POTD is to easy. Ofc they have reloaded a hundred times. So lame. Even if you only have 1% chance to win if you can do it endlessly you might as well have every cheat in the world.
  2. Trial of iron. Anything else is immortality mode. TOI on easy is better than POTD with immortality reloads
  3. I think the AI is pretty garbage all round on the party members tbh. So i dont see the problem being Kana
  4. Lots of cipher changes Not a fix for the faith and conviction bug?
  5. Accuracy remains unchanged. Healing has been buffed. DR nerfed
  6. If i did a game it would always take into account metagaming and ways to limit it. For example i would never make an enemy boss target fortitude and allow players to max out fortitude and then get +15 accuracy vs that enemy type if they were metagaming. Instead i would treat the game more like an adventure where the key isnt the reload mechanics or metagaming. Id make it so a boss would be close to the same difficulty if you fought him the first time or the 5th. I would then use difficulty settings to determine the success of the adventure. For example my "very hard" would always be very hard, no matter gear, previous experiences etc . And my very easy the opposite This is something that gaming studios are having great problems on getting right.
  7. Chris Avellone did a really good interview with mrmatty. His respect for Fallout is great. I dont know how much he did on NV, but that was a fantastic game. His work on F2 was also very good. Having said that he has written some complete garbage. Kreia in kotor2 is possibly the worst character i have ever seen in a video game (which says ALOT) Also when he played Arcanum he acted really poorly. A game, made by the father of Fallout Tim Cain, that was superb. And he ran naked into wolves with a madame and just kept reloading and doing it over and over, and just making a joke out of it. I dont know what drove him to leave Obsidian but if it wasnt for family reasons then it must have been a huge fight. You dont leave a company you founded for small disagreements etc
  8. Solo runs is all about immortality mode (reload), exploiting the system and ai. And you dont get to bring the interesting NPCs.
  9. Things like this is really needed in gaming. Some people think enemies are bullet sponges others like meaty fights. Some people like it when their mage doesnt get 1 shot, others love 1 shot. So make it a slider for dmg taken 0.5-2 and the same for damage dealt etc
  10. So everybody who does solo playthroughs is a garbage collector? I would be more careful about calling people names. So if i say popular music is bad, everyone who does not agree is bad people? That is one crazy way of thinking. : ) Solo runs is garbage (i have soloed the game btw). I prefer 3-4 man runs, they are awesome. Just because someone agrees that 3 man runs are the best, it does not make them the best...
  11. Solo is garbage. But i really like 3 man teams (prefer this over 6 man teams)
  12. I dont think a nerf is needed at all. But this is the least bad idea for a nerf by far.
  13. I greatly agree about POE really finding that balance. It isnt rock, paper but as you say much more strategic. You cant prepare for all situations however. You cant coat your arrows with garlic and have them made of silver and put them on fire. Choice is good!
  14. I know. My point is that +4 DR is a big deal on its own, and so is +10 Accuracy. You get these bonuses essentially for free (skill point investment barely qualifies as an opportunity cost in this game) and they stack with everything, including other resting bonuses. They are sustainable indefinitely, and of a rather significant magnitude. IME, PoE just looks like its hard but really isn't. Once you get a good gripe on the mechanics and see how repetitive and dumb the A.I. tends to be, you'll beat it rather easily. My main issue is with the sharp drop in difficulty once you surpass level 10: The second half of the game is just bloody easy even on Path of the Damned if you know what you're doing (with but one exception, which is the Concelhaut fight—that's a hard fight even at level 14 and for this, I salute the devs.) Adding these bonuses on top of that is too much—and I say that as an inveterate powergamer. Its a nice small buff. For putting alot of pts in survival. We will still need mechanics on one character. Lore and stealth has its uses. And athletics now give a nice fast "oh oh" heal. I really like it and think its spot on. As i said if you think the game is well balanced, then this change is in no way bad for that balance.
  15. Yes please. Take my money. Make another Fallout
  16. PoE is one of the hardest games? Not IME. Starcraft II? Yes, definitely one of the hardest games to truly master (but can be played by anyone at any level.) PoE just takes understanding its mechancis—then it becomes a cakewalk even on PotD. I wouldn't call camping bonuses a small buff. +4 DR and +10 Accuracy are pretty big, especially in consideration of the fact that they stack with resting bonuses from inns and Caed Nua. You had to bring up a 5 year old game to even try to make a point!? I think you just helped prove my case... Just because you wouldnt call it a small buff does not make it not a small buff. And you dont have +4 dr AND +10 accuracy (for one enemy type). Its one of them. Id say that if you think POE is well balanced then something like that does not make or break the balance. However, if you think the game is very easy and should be made tons harder then i can see where you are coming from. Id still think you were deadwrong (the game isnt easy) but i could see the point. So where do you stand. Is the balance fine? And this one small buff breaks it? Or is the game to easy? and now they add more OP to the player? I know what my opinion is.
  17. Could not disagree more 1. A game will always be easy when you have played through it enough. You learn all the tricks. POE isnt an easy game at all compared to other games. In fact it is one of the absolute hardest so thats simply not true. A small buff isnt gonna make or break the game at all. 2. No. Makes perfect sense. They prepare traps for beasts, special movements to be used against dragons etc. Coating weapons with poison etc. Awesome idea. 3. Which is it? Does it make the game easier or more confusing (and thus harder)? It isnt confusing at all. Two bonuses isnt confusing in any shape or form. 4. Because they all rest in super soft beds so get extra willpower at the inn? But at camp they prepare differently. Someone makes special arrows to pierce dragon scales. The paladin reinforces his armor etc (+DR) 5. WHAT NOW??? To many options? I dont even.... speechless
