I wouldn't go that far. I'd say he's probably still a teenager. That's like berating a toddler for being into Bob the Builder. Salvatore is a decent pulp action writer and it's good that he's keeping young people reading. Hopefully as "I want" grows up, he will keep reading and broaden his horizons. I think I read all the Salvatore books in college. They were fun. Did it suddenly get douchebag in here? Yeah, you're right, they are fun. The action is fun, the bits of humor are fun. Almost every book is tons of fun to read. Spine of the World was terrible, though. The Wulfgar bits were good, but I can't really be interested in hearing about some some tart's idiotic love problems and engangement to an airheaded prince. Also, Drizzt's section intros should be shot and killed. I have nothing against reading Salvatore per se (they're good at providing some brainless entertainment, though there's better such), but considering him as your favourite author must mean you're either young, have poor taste and/or haven't read much

Sure... What I can see immeaditly is that when I click enemy in IE game action begins immeaditly In Aurora there is small but noticeable drag Other clunkyness factor is the camera NWN1's was bad, NWN2's strategy cam is good but not as good as IE's isometric

My favorite series/author/character. Sorry, but you have quite horrible taste when it comes to books then I'm currently reading: couple of rather well known and groundbreaking scientific books, namely Dr Schwarz's The Mind and The Brain and Henry Stapp's Mindful Universe. I'm also considering taking a shot Mario Beauegard's The Spiritual Brain: Neuroscientist's case for the existence of soul purely out of curiosity. It contains a lot of important and relevant scientific studies even if you dismiss the religious overtones. As for novels, I'm reading Kafka's famous work, The Castle. Boy isn't it good

It is one of the only truly unique (well, whole Planecape was) parts of D&D lore. And pretty goddamn awesome idea it is. I can take whole spellplague ( I like that concept) and draconians on Faerun (I like them too, Dragonlance ftw), but the other changes... especially this *sigh* There's just something about two demonic armies meeting in the battlefield on some forsaken plane where souls of dead are ripped from the earth itself to join the fight, blood raining from the skies and stacks of gutted beings piled around the battlefield, the demonic, godless magic bursting people and creatures to little pieces as big shots walk among the "footmen"etc. Imagine roleplaying game starting as some poor sod who contracted himself into that hell. Enormous possibilities

No. Aurora is blocky, tileset based system. It also has low polygon count and numerous other restrictions. It was and isn't capable of achieving the same hand made, unique artistry that Black Isle created for the game. Only now with NWN2's Electron engine it is somewhat achievable as Puragorio shows, but even then it loses badly on small details and sense of scale.

I have Sawyer's words backing my observations And I didn't mention engine's overall betterness, only the fact it is superior in combat ...but in my opinion it IS indeed much better. Aurora could've never created visuals of Sigil

Actually it was developed back in the day - by LA themselves (now that would be even more horrible fate) - but it was cancelled back in 2005 IIRC I think LA's unwillinges to hand K3 over to Obsidian is because of the whole design philosophy, namely MCA's unique (KILL THE GOD) stand on the Force, moral grayness and all other so not Star Warsy trappings
