  1. Trip prep mostly. Finally off to Costa Rica tomorrow So if you don't hear from me for a while I'm probably on the beach ...or dead or abducted by aliens or lost in time. The possibilities are nearly endless
  2. Smoked salmon and grilled corn on the cob
  3. am curious where shady were taking pictures. colorado, yes? am seeing ski lifts in background, but in colorado that hardly narrows things. am kinda into purchasing real estate and while most everything we own is in CA, we were considering taking advantage o' some o' the cheapy property available near pueblo, co. nevertheless, am curious 'bout your pictures... we honestly only know colorado for ski destinations such as vail, aspen, winterpark, etc. HA! Good Fun! ps pueblo reminds us much of sacramento, ca. is arid and bland and you ain't far from mountains. you got a smallish state college in town. dunno. we like value, but it were perhaps too familiar. Those were taken in Crested Butte, CO
  4. I think it depends on how ugly the spider is. The more hideous the hellspawn the more destruction is needed to purge its taint. A daddy longlegs or cute little jumping spider can be spared and escorted to the edge of the kingdom and banished but some kind of wolf spider with a million little babies on its back requires much more drastic measures.
  5. The point was more that there doesn't have to be an epic courtship or game spanning buildup that ends in fade to black diaper sex. Sometimes people just click for whatever reason. As far as plausibility, I guess it would have to depend on the story but on it's own I see no reason why a casual relationship turning into something more serious can't be a valid "Romance" subplot You've made me give this more thought than I ever intended to because "Romance" in games isn't something I really care much about, just those points I kept seeing pop up. So now I guess a duel is in order. Pistols at noon? Swords at sunset? I'll let you know now that I'll very likely be late so please feel free to start without me
  6. Man Burns Down House Trying To Kill Spider With Homemade Flamethrower I think he responded with appropriate force
  7. Also Tracy McGrady Retires from Baseball After Throwing First Career Strikeout but wait, there's more Cavaliers reportedly NOW willing to trade Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love
  8. Not a direct response to anyone in particular but reading a lot of these replies about what is believable and what makes sense don't really add up for me. I disagree that there needs to be long build up or slow progression over the course of the game but maybe I'm in the amoral minority who has had one night stands and has also had a few of those actually lead to something more. It may not be capital R "Romance" but if we're talking sex and relationships I can speak from my experience in the military that some people are willing to risk quite a lot to find some connection and comfort when death can literally come from above at any moment. So I also disagree that people fighting for their lives won't occasionally (or quite often) make time to express their feelings or more likely hop on the good foot and do the bad thing That said, if it's forced or just plain badly done then of course it's not going to work but that's not exactly a revelation since that goes for most things Don't get me wrong, I don't want some of the BSN element over here either but I'm not opposed to romance for those reasons I've stated
  9. Thanks Just so I'm clear then, the desire for the prevalent belief to be wrong is fear of poor transition to and implementation of new fuel sources and not the belief itself?
  10. Honestly, I can't say that I'm surprised that something coming out of "the world's most prominent think tank promoting skepticism about man-made climate change" is casting doubt on global warming/climate change/whatever we are calling it now BUT really.. I mean, come on. Even if the scientists are wrong about it being bad/existing, what's wrong with investing in alternative fuels, making things more energy efficient and reducing pollution? I don't think anyone is going to argue that pollution is good or claim they like getting gallons per mile (hyperbole!) instead of the other way around. IF we can do better, then why not? Disclaimer- that doesn't mean I think any and everything is a good idea like the above mentioned carbon tax which just gets handed down to the consumer or the opposite of that, paying the companies for voluntarily reducing emissions (though I did like the tax break I got for buying a hybrid and the MPG is great but the downside is that sometimes I'm not sure if my car is even on because it's so quiet) I guess I'm just missing why it's so important for some for it to be wrong
  11. Dunno, seems probable they just passed on the tax to the consumer as they went on about their business as usual I'm not familiar with the situation but that's just my pessimistic uninformed take
  12. Scientists Are Beginning to Figure Out Why Conservatives Are…Conservative
  13. Thanks again all Any suggestions on good RAM with no or lower profile heat spreaders?
  14. I love the game and I will admit to looking up what to do next more than a couple times. I don't fault the game for this though as I just haven't had to pay attention or think about what to do next in a game like this in a long time
  15. The OS is extra but the site seems to just scour the web for the best prices and give it to you in one nice neat place I'll get the OS for free or nearly so from work anyway since we have crazy employee purchasing programs and MS is one of our biggest customers
  16. Thanks all This is what I currently have selected http://pcpartpicker.com/p/kwgFbv Any thoughts? I went all out on RAM because I had budget and my wife will likely be stealing my gaming machine for her graphics stuff I'm still 100 bucks under budget which will be a nice savings but it's there in case I need to tweak things some more
  17. Scotch pronunciation with Brian Cox PS I'm drinking scotch
  18. This article is a great read THE STATE OF THE AMERICAN DOG Click HERE if you want to cry Here is a picture of my dog My wife dropped a fry and the dog claimed it but knows not to eat anything until we give her the command to do so Also, puppies
  19. I usually play on the left screen in windowed fullscreen mode and work or surf the web on the right screen
  20. I swear Dell used to offer more customization I'm thinking of just forking over a little more dough and getting a 290X instead of a 280X, any thoughts on that? I really appreciate everyone's help and will let you know what I get
  21. Restaurant Watches Old Surveillance And Shares Shocking Results On Craigslist This sounds like my wife. I walk in and look at the menu and know what I want right away and the waiter usually has to come back a few times before my wife even looks at the menu EDIT: I always get an extra space before my quotes that isn't there when I'm typing it and I have to go in and edit it out
  22. The good: Closed on my refi today and now besides my mortgage I have no debt I also got a raise The bad: I've admitted defeat to lactose. I tried for a while to simply deny my intolerance but was unable to will it so The ugly: Me. I still frighten children and small animals
  23. I always lump it in with catalog(ue), monolog(ue), epilog(ue) but as I've said before, and is mostly obvious, my command of the English language is questionable I've heard it both ways but seriously 2 AP to backstab and 3 for a shot with a bow compared to like 6 for spell
  24. Infuriating? Really? They have the exact same meaning in all instances. I always thought it was more of a country/regional difference (though most technical writing I've seen goes with dialog). Regardless, I've seen it both ways with many dictionaries using log instead of logue as an acceptable, and often American, alternate spelling. Like how we drop the U in a lot words that end in our (honour, valour, armour, colour) or switch theatre into theater, drop the double L in travel(l)ed and cancel(l)ed, and change some S's to Z's like criticize and patronize But I'm no English major or even that good with even the most basic English so please feel free to disregard or correct me Back on topic, I've found my ranger/rogue type has been outshining my mage in battles lately with 3 or 4 backstab or bow attacks compared to the 1 or 2 spells I can get off per turn
