  1. X-box 360 has such a head start over the others I voted for that. Plus I read somewhere the X-box 360 price will drop the day PS3 is released. As for the Wii, the name is too corny and cheesy. It would have been a good name to give it on April Fools day, then on 2nd of April say "Actually, its called ...". X-box 360 is the same tried and tested controller, all the Wii's hype about motion sensing has yet to be proven IMO.
  2. Downloading Demo now... From what Ive read it sounds like I might like it. Ive never tried any of the others in the series, do people reccomend them?
  3. There are two Rodians who are just plain crazy. You have that Rodian in KotOR 1 dueling ring who keeps refering to blasting, then you have that Rodian swoop fan on Onderon who keeps refering to "Swooop". Do I find that coincidental? "
  4. Does that mean that the Alt key is bindable (just out of curiosity)
  5. Been mentioned a few posts ago Endar Spire was a kinda tutorial (which was better than Ebon Hawk in KotOR II, more story happening etc), whereas Peragus and Taris are both the 1st "Planets" so to speak. This comparison between Peragus and Taris is fair IMO, as Peragus isnt a tutorial, its just a huge gap filler between Opening title and Telos <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  6. Vietnam is kinda like modern day Iraq I suppose, I mean you have gurillas everywhere hitting the troops randomly in hit and run tactics. This is a very difficult war to win, and I wouldnt be supriesed if Iraq ends up like Vietnam (though I hope not cos there are many troops there, including from the UK, so I hope they dont get Vietnam like casualties)
  7. lol, Thats the quote I forgot about! That has to be the most N u Endo quote in the series, possibly along with "Down you go!" :D
  8. If you have access to another machine try it on that. Maybe its the copy of the game you have? (which I doubt). Still its always good to check for the simplest things 1st.
  9. Why is fog generated by the processor? Just wondering. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Most games use the graphics card to generate the fog, however the KotOR engine uses the processor, thus making the game incredibly slow when alot of fog is around (like the main menu screen at high resolutions), and is the cause of the notorious slowdown on Dantooine in KotOR 1 (tho I think that was another issue, but it is still the processors fault )
  10. The main menu screen has alot of fog effects. Fog is generated by the Processor, not the graphics card, thus it causes huge slowdowns. My main menu screen is jerky, but its the only problem I have with the game. If you are playing on high resultions and high effects, like AA and AF, then the fog will slow down your machine even more. Try running at the lowest settings to see if the menu screen speeds up.
  11. Ive had quite a few Mandalorian armour drop out of animals, and they always end up in the same places... exchanged for credits or broken down
  12. Maybe their strategy is to move away from Star Wars, so by making more non SW games and making new SW games that are rubbish, they could one day not be immediately assaciated with Star Wars. I mean there are no more movies planned, plus who knows if the TV series will be a hit... To stay on topic, I think KotOR III should use a new graphical game engine (like Mass Effect), but maintain its current d20 system
  13. There are also pushover "asassins" and some sith troops (I never fire on them using the gun turret, I like to kill them with my crew cos you get more XP that way )
  14. Just Force Crush the Great Storm Beast and Sion Thats wat I did when I tried DS In KotOR I there was a droid in the Vulkars sublevel (where you find the swoop parts). Hes behind a locked door. I think he can be tough if you dont bring Zaalbar with you, because he keeps freezing your party members and he gave me trouble when I was a level 4 scout.
  15. KotOR II's Swoop races are too buggy, and are virtually unwinnable... Hmm, starting the game "jumped" seems odd, have you tried different swoop tracks?
  16. hmm, that would catch my eye, as long as it has no direct correlation to the movies (ie you are lukes great gran son etc). I would read the reviews and fan feedback before I'd play that though. Patience, its their franchise, they can do what they want with it. If they want to call it quits its their perogative, as long as they learn their mistakes and make good games (I agree, most of their line up except Lego SW 2 looks rubbish!) Heck, at least they are not as bad as Blizzard (yet). its been 8 years since the starcraft expansion pack, and we are still waiting for a sequel, yet they keep bringing us more WoW rubbish! There is hope though, considering the latest revival of the C&C franchise, maybe LA will announce and release KotOR III at the right time.
  17. Endar Spire was a kinda tutorial (which was better than Ebon Hawk in KotOR II, more story happening etc), whereas Peragus and Taris are both the 1st "Planets" so to speak. 18. He could be an invincible Jedi, but on a timer... Wait a minute, thats how the Jedi work in Battlefront anyway (sorta, its more like kills within the time, something or other)
  19. Another reason why Malak is not my favourite Villan. I prefer Nihilus mainly because of his originality. KotOR 1 was indeed a reminder of the classic Star Wars Movies, where Malak plays the role of Darth Vader, even having a funky voice and partial metal implants/etc. Granted Nihilus dosnt say much; you hardly see him; and you kill him in 3 moves, but conceptual wise, hes better.
  20. I prefer LS, but I still think its worth playing it dark every now or again, just to get the fullest out of the game (I have yet to play with Hanharr, I'd take Jedi Mira anyday, plus she can turn to the DS, plus It would feel repetetive (Zalbar KotOR 1... stopped using him once I got Juhani )) Try playing DS 1st, then when you get to pick a Prestige Class, choose Sith Marauder, and as soon as you do that, turn towards the path of the light. If you are LS (I think Neutral too) by the time you meet the 3 Jedi on Dantooine, you should get force enlightenment. I think it should work because I got force crush when I played as a Dark Side Jedi Master . Now you have no reason to be a Weapon Master
  21. an alternative program to use is Windows Media Player Classic (its not a Microsoft product, it just looks like the old Media Player). Just open the kotor II sound file (no modification required) in that program and it should play it fine, as it has its own inbuilt codecs
  22. Deadeye Ducan beat you, thats whats wrong, and funny :D I wonder if any one who played in the dueling ring ever lost to Deadeye Duncan? "
  23. This is why people make Mods, so that they can add what they want. Im sure there are mods out there to add Qui Gon Jin to whatever star wars game... I mean for Battlefront, I suppose someone might only need to change the skin of one of the Jedi characters, though Im not a modder so I dont know if its that easy
  24. Here are 2 links for that mod for all you Peragus Haters http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.c...p_Peragus;41139 http://www.pcgamemods.com/mod/12010.html I would like to repeat myself and say that I have NOT tried them, I have only herd about them. If any of u try something like this, please give feedback
  25. Who voted for Peragus! lol I'd take Taris anyday. Infact I like Taris, cos there is alot more to do, alot more interesting stuff, and you pick up 2/3 of your whole NPC team
