  1. Son of a Bitch- Kyuss...I always thought this song has some resemblence to the misfit's "where eagle's dare". Regardless, still good working out music....
  2. unless, of course, they are at reasonable prices.... happy bday to kum and calax, and whoever else
  3. Los Angeles- X
  4. One of my favorite youthhood albums... Raw Power- The Stooges
  5. throwing up and sticking pins in oneself = sex pistols political activism and critique = dead kennedys and bad brains societal critique and activism = the stooges and new york dolls then again, the sex pistols did almost get enough of a following to put england in a veritable state of anarchy, but then they had the ever-poppy "the clash" to make everyone happy again......in retrospect, it seemed like the sex pistols kinda ruined put the individualistic, nondestructive scene that the ramones, stooges, and new york dolls had going...meh my favorite rock band is probably uh...... the ramones
  6. Always differentiate between old and new with Green Day, because their new stuff is, complete crap tbh. Only half decent song on American Idiot is When September Ends, and even that isn't exactly a great song lets face it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What are you talking about? Green Day really only has like three different songs they play over and over again with various billy joe ramblings...the only difference between old and new green day is better sound quality for the same 3 songs over and over again *not a fan* anyway, i only use my mp3 thing to record my old vinyls and listen to those....like husker du, social d, misfits, ramones, neil young, johnny cash, steve goodman, etc...... oh and since this is the new what are you listening to thread--- 50 Million Year Trip (Downside up)- Kyuss
  7. Rye by the Sea- Michael Murphy...still rummaging through good old records
  8. Yeah you are definitely right about those....although I'd add on the misfits (circa 1978-83), minor threat, social distortion, Zeke, and I always considered "Wretch" by Kyuss a punk album
  9. Loudmouth- The Ramones
  10. I like your list better, most of the bands on the original poll always seemed a little overrated to me...well with exception to iron butterfly
  11. I Ain't Hurtin nobody- John Prine
  12. Something I Learned Today- Husker Du
  13. Hard on Me- Tom Petty
  14. Old Man- Neil Young...just found one of the old vinyls I had, good stuff
  15. vader of course because james earl jones is just so cool
  16. Lion's Mane- Iron and Wine
  17. The Dead Sea scrolls were all Hebrew Scriptures, you'd also have to go through the hierarchy of the Jewish religion too. Anyway, the gnostics have been known to make anti-Semistic views, and accidental anti-Christian views. So this is probably just a nice little historical find, but the "discovery" of another apocryful gospel is nothing really new and the gospel itself is most likely not credible for various sound reasons. All the negative hype is just a second wave to this whole "discredit all of Christianity" fad that seems to be going on these days.
  18. The City of New Orleans- Steve Goodman
  19. No Go- The Ramones
  20. Waiting for a Superman- Iron and Wine..a cover of the Flaming Lips song, although I'd have to say this one is better
  21. Band Geek Mafia- Voodoo Glow Skulls
  22. Hardly Getting Over it- Husker Du
  23. awesome drabek, try putting it on megaupload or something... You Wreck Me- Tom Petty
  24. Drifting- Hendrix a mellow, yet very well composed song...kinda like little wing
  25. Darlin' Your out of my Head- EWO...my band recording
