  4. I'm Not- Kyuss -this is not mellow
  5. Is this an implication of violence...? for shame... Anyway, when I read what Mr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had said, I wasn't at all suprised. Especially coming from the man who quoted ""the occupying regime of Al-Quds" a "disgraceful blot" that ought to be "wiped off the map." (Israel is often referred to by Iranian leaders as "the occupying regime of Al-Quds" to bring focus to their contention that Israel is not a legitimate state.) Spite, resent, and lust for power rule the world...but its always been this way. Unfortunately, and apparently, no one likes to learn about history.
  6. Suzy is a Headbanger-The Ramones
  7. bummer...
  8. I don't wanna hear it - Minor Threat
  9. ...that has failed us, correct <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How has it failed us? Seriously, statues don't really serve any purpose other than looking nice in the middle of nowhere, and maybe a reminder of something. In this case however, good old Bruce was in movies, which is plenty reminder of how cool he was. My point...the artist should beat the hell out of whoever vandalized his statue, and everyone else should stop caring.
  10. Auto Pilot- QotSA
  11. No sicker than the snuff film that screen was taken from. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh, I see, that makes it alright, doesn't it? Typical. And your comment doesn't surprise me at all, since most people misinterpret that film completely. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well apparently, as this thread has proved the life of any religious leader can be misinterpreted. Unfortunately, Mel Gibson had to aim for a more historical view of Jesus' martyrdom rather than a theological view, which is why the movie displayed such brutality. By the way, julianw, you mentioned something about "knowing that Jesus was 33 when he died." This is just a statement for consideration, but did you know that 3 is a number that represents completion? Therefore, having two threes is really emphasizing that Jesus was completion himself. I simply brought this up because 33 would have been considered quite old in that time period...perhaps an elder.. I would like to respond to all of the other areas of conversation in this thread, but for now I'll just stay to the main one. --mojo, you had some slighly amusing comparisons to Jesus and modern day African Americans. However, someone said earlier that Jesus was a "Jewish Arab" and was quite correct. If you were to say that black and Arab were the same race to any Sudanee government official, you'd be shot on sight. Things to remember while traveling
  12. You just totally confused me. You are a liberal asking for more censorship? Also, I think it may be that our greedy bloodlusty nature may be the reason why our democracies are relaxing censorship. We told them to. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, I never said I was a liberal, I was just stating an opinion. I'm just for civil rights, whatever catagory that falls into is up to you. Anyway, I think you have a valid point in saying our "nature" is causing the democracies to relax censorship. This is a very funny contradiction, but I suppose the general public finds a distinguishing factor between "entertainment" and government.
  13. It seems to me that there isn't enough censorship. It seems to me that the term "liberal" has become a dirty word thanks to the common conservative agenda. Most of the society complains about not knowing what is going on in the government, with the "war," yadda yadda, but even if they did know, they probably wouldn't be able to comprehend the problems, simply because they aren't in that position to make important decisions. Moreover, some movies these days are pushing the limit on grotesqueness, and frankly from my point of view, obscene. Because of the lack of censorship, I believe that our society has a bloodlust and a overwhelming sense of greed.
  14. *spam* good band indeed *spam*

  18. hey man, I just want my carpet I think in some ways you are right about Houston being a big underdog. However, the White Sox have had something of a reputation of being one of the worst teams in baseball for about the last 50 years. For some reason, I've never heard much negativity about the stros. Anyway today's Gameday- Garland vs. Oswalt ....its gonna be a really good game
  19. Well, it was mostly because that wasnt really a world series thread, it was a play off thread
  20. so, who do you think should and will win? I am pulling for the white sox because, even though I like the astros, I've been a fan of the sox all of my life. Not only that, but they have something of a reputation to break... I am also from texas, so pretty much everyone here is for the 'stros, its just fun to see how many people flick me off when I wear my sox hat
