  1. Ditto. The hilt blades look dumb but overall I like it. Well, except for me not being able to unhear Smaug in whoever is narrating this.
  2. So you wish the worst on both sides of the GamerGate debate, but the Nazis were just misguided?
  3. I am less than 20 minutes away from that location right this minute. Also, huh I did not know that. Weird that this never came up in my history classes. Thanks for educating me.
  4. So, DayZ raised the price 15% the day before the sale. Then discounted it 15%. Thoughts?
  5. Yours is better. Contains more the violent harassment for anyone to see.
  6. A sequel here behind the link for profanity: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B3hZMu3CEAEFJz0.png:large Claire Schumann left twitter after a string of bullying related to this, deactivating her account, a literal example of a woman being bullied off the internet by misogynist threat culture... coming from GamerGate opponents. And then a third part: Congratulations, GG opponents. You have proven that there is a toxic misogynist culture online. And you're the perpetrators. I am absolutely sick of this and I have reported every single one of Randi Harpers tweets as cyberbullying.
  7. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/122967-Brenda-Romero-Resigns-IGDA-Post-Over-GDC-Party-UPDATED Related. Co-chair of IGDA Women resigned because IGDA hosted sexist parties, essentially. True patrons of diversity, those guys. EDIT: Did you see Ernest W. Adams' comment in the comment section to the article you linked? "You were a critic of our system before you joined, so all your criticism of how it was when you were there is invalid," the man is a two-faced snaked.
  8. Could you gimme a source? I just moved, I don't have TV or a newspaper yet (and I'm debating getting either) and I must have missed it on the internet. Most of the time politicians respond with strong condemnation, not like this mayor apparently did. Anyway, yeah for some reason some of the ethnic groups (moluccans and moroccans specifically) in the Netherlands are seemingly pro-segregation. When I was looking for a new apartment it wasn't that uncommon for me to find qualifiers like "This apartment is only available for those with strong ties to the local community". I don't know if that reflects upon the ethnic groups or on how they are treated by society. I think it reflects on those ethnic groups at the moment, because they also can't stand each other and they tend to have... altercations. Still, nothing compared to gang wars and ghettos.
  9. Jij is the informal form of you. The formal is u.
  10. He's got a bit of a point on that one. Some of the best games aren't so much "fun" as they are engaging. I doubt he means that, though.
  11. I don't think it's productive for Obs to comment on it. The climate is too unforgiving.
  12. I think you're referring to "u".
  13. I don't think Anita deserved to have such attention.
  14. This a thousand times. Steam messes with my asthma something fierce.
  15. I'm better at listening to German than I am reading it, when someone speaks to me I can usually make out most of their general gist. I'm not seeing the similarity between Dutch and English though since Dutch is obsessive about grammar and the entire English language is an exception to its own grammar, but let's not hijack the thanksgiving thread. :D
  16. Thank you for explaining the joke. EDIT: Also wtf how is it some dutch can't understand German worth a damned? Your language is literally the result of German and english having sex! The similarities are precisely why. I failed German in high school but I'm straight A's for English and Latin and passed French without trying (though to be fair, I forgot pretty much every little bit of French that I knew because high school French class is "remember all these words and phrases" and not "learn how the french language works in any way") but when I try to speak German my brain gets confused with Dutch and a use the wrong words, the wrong grammar etc. Although I can find my way around Berlin well enough, so I guess it's passable.
  17. My high school german is a little rusty, but that's just thursday isn't it?
  18. Here I am in Europe, eating a burger and having no special holiday to celebrate. Happy Thanksgiving to you Americans and whoever else celebrates it at this particular time.
  19. Can I pry and ask how much you shelled out for this beast? I'm in the market as it were.
  20. https://www.reddit.com/r/KotakuInAction/comments/2nkb5d/former_aaa_developer_explains_how_the/ Badly written but fascinating read about how journalists affect you as a game developer, most of which jives with my personal experience.
  21. So Robert Rosario, the IGDA exec who was unfairly placed on the blocklist, has been doxxed and had his children threatened and has had harassment incited against him for criticizing the blocklist and Raspberry Pi's decision to enforce it. Image here, photos of children and car censored: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B3aWX5eIcAAzUxJ.png Tell me again how GamerGate is responsible for harassment? I think the "opponents" of GamerGate as an entity, mostly characterised by outright stupidity before, have finally slipped into full on malice. It would be very easy at this point to paint with broad strokes and tell people that this is what you're supporting if you're against GamerGate, but thankfully I am not an idiot and I know not everyone who has an opinion on GamerGate is a harasser.
  22. So Mrs. Sommers Wikipedia article is being routinely vandalized and changed into more negative things. For example, someone removed the (sourced) "NY Times Notable Book of the Year" accolade and replaced it with a critical quote. The people who say GamerGate is on the wrong side of history have to make that history revisionist to make it so, it seems.
  23. Nope, if your answer is that it does then I'm not going to spoil it and try to get my hands on it instead.
  24. Does it also fix the scientist take off his helmet in an unknown atmosphere, the biologist playing peekaboo with an alien cobra giving obvious threat displays despite havig been terrified of the mere thought of alien life seconds before, and the geologist who mapped the cave complex being the only person who gets lost in said complex when everyone else comes out without his help? I've warmed up towards Prometheus on a repeat viewing but I'm still constantly irritated by how over the top idiotic every single character is. Well, that and the random, unnecesary zombie attack sequence in the middle of the movie that is never mentioned again.
