Sharp_One - From the forum guidelines you agreed to by signing up for a forum account: Objectionable Content: The use of abusive, vulgar or profane language, even if hidden through the use of symbols or other characters is not tolerated. Intentionally posting workarounds to our language filters are prohibited. Posts may be edited or deleted at any time by the moderation team, and depending on the severity and frequency of said posts, the poster may be censured or banned. It's always been this way, profanity gets censored automatically and posts with uncensored profanity in it get removed. While Obsidian's games are rated for age appropriateness, the boards are not and we are obligated to keep it at least somewhat friendly for younger people since this is a company forum and not just some internet fansite. It also keeps it cleaner and more friendly for other people who may not be predisposed to profanity. If you have a problem with it, take it up with Fionavar but I doubt you'll get it removed because of the aforementioned reasons. You can post links as long as you put an NSFW disclaimer next to it. You should not reply to this post in this thread because that would be derailing, and from this point on we'll go back to discussing Star Wars Episode VII.

What does it mean to goose someone? I googled it but all I got was urban dictionary and that had about 20 different definitions for goose as a verb, several of which are not fit to be posted here.

[364] Elves can have beards
Blarghagh replied to Rumsteak's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
This is by far my most favourite bug report ever. Even still, PoE elves are not the same as D&D or Tolkien elves. Maybe some of them can grow beards? -
Forum maintanance so far. Time to get to irl work!

Previous topic closed for length. Previous popular topics have included dissection of Josh's claim in an interview that if Obsidian were to do romances, they would want to do them right and that a good romance takes time they did not have for PoE. As before, here are the rules: Romance in PoE Thread Rules - This thread is for people who wish to actually discuss the roleplaying merits of romances (or lack thereof) in regards to Pillars of Eternity. You can lament or celebrate that they are not included, argue why the game would have been better or worse, give examples from games that did it well or did it poorly, talk about modding efforts to add it in, or discuss how it might be included in future expansions or installments and anything related to those subjects, etc. - Anyone posting simply to make fun of or abuse people who like or dislike romance or to point out how often this topic has been done before will find their posts deleted. If the thread goes off-topic or gets very hostile, it will get pruned. - Other romance threads will either be deleted or merged into this one. Knock yourselves out.

The Official Romance Thread
Blarghagh replied to Blarghagh's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Guess what? You can regard "Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion" as being in regards to a franchise and an expansion has always been in the cards, so it's still relevant. It's also possible to discuss how romance would have been implemented had PoE included them (as hypotheticals) as well as how people will or would like to see them modded in. Finally, it's not even up to you guys to decide whether a thread will be closed but up to the moderating team, so your discussion is infinitely more pointless than you think this thread is. Either way, this one's getting closed for length and the next one is going up shortly. -
What are you playing now? RIGHT NOW? COME ON! TELL ME! Last time on the what are you playing now thread: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/68966-what-are-you-playing-now/page-29 I am rather annoyed that the Linux version is still not there. The only reason I can think of that it is taking this long is because they didn't think their choice of libraries through when they started out. Which also highlights why it is a terrible idea to develop on one platform and *then* port your game instead of taking some extra time up front and building for all platforms at once... Personally I've been playing me some Shadow Warrior (the new one), made it to chapter 9 I think, which puts me past halfway done. Also made it through the new event in Warframe, was even topping my clan's leaderbords when I did it (most of them are Mastery 16-18 veterans, so yay for me ), haven't checked back since then though but I'm sure someone beat me by now (but ignorance is bliss, so I'm going to revel in my awesomeness until at least this evening )

Attention everyone. This thread has been pruned with extreme prejudice. There has been too much trolling, nonsense and off-topicness in this thread. I'd like to point out that private messages are meant to be private (it's in the freaking name) and are not allowed to be shared without permission of the sender and also that making videos ridiculing other members is frowned upon, but most of all: Discuss the topic, not each other.

Journalism and sexism in the games industry

It's not that, I just get the idea that the guy doesn't really care at all, he's just looking for hornet's nests to kick. -

I didn't know it was gone. Did some journalists really threaten to not give the game coverage if they didn't change the poster? I'm looking for a sauce that's not a thunderf00t video here because I can't stand the man. -

Journalism and sexism in the games industry

I was being sarcastic. One of the main points "proving" gamers were misogynist as a whole in some of the articles was that they considered women "fake gamer girls who just want attention from boys" so I was pointing out that their argument against the women supporting GG was, at the very least, ironic. via http://elbowfish.myshopify.com/pages/david-galiel This is at the same time the saddest and most hilarious thing I've ever seen. -

So they're saying pro-GG women are just fake geek girls? -

That would be Vivian James (meant to sound like vidya gaemz), something of a GG mascotte designed by the part of 4chan that funded The Fine Young Capitalists' women in games jam project. -

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B3pJuhpIMAA3Oc3.png:large Headline: Anti-harassment people that oppose GamerGate prove dedication to anti-harassment by consistently and constantly harass infamous internet feminist Liana K. Notice how all the victims of anti-GG's harassment are women? This has become ridiculous self-parody. They are literally their own worst enemy. Liana K, Georgina Young, Christina Sommers, Camera Lady, Claire Shumann, Jennifer Dawe, GGFeminist, Jennie Bharaj, Jennifer from Hardwire, IvyTwisted, Sabrina Lianne and that Liz whose full name escapes me who posted all those "I'm sorry I pretended to be a woman because I'm actually a cis white male" videos. All these women have consistently been harassed by the self-proclaimed anti-harassment people. THe amount of women who support GG getting harassed outnumber the amount of men getting harassed by so much it's not even funny. -
Last episode was directed by Neil Marshall who directed all the action packed episodes of Game of Thrones as well as a couple of awesome cult movies, and is pretty good.

Strange, i could've heard something completely different from other female devs I once volunteered for a guerilla filmmaking project with a team that didn't take any nonsense. If you were incompetent, they would mercilessly make fun of your work. Several men left because they couldn't deal with it. Now, there were a handful of women there too and most of them were competent (some of them hypercompetent), so they didn't get crapped on and in fact most of them joined in. Except for this one girl, who was just absolutely terrible at her job. So, like the other men, her work was mocked all the time. Her response? She threatened to sue people for being sexist. Needless to say all the women laughed in her face, she left and she never did make a case out of it. When I see the work of some of those other women devs, I am very much reminded of that girl. -
I don't remember the other bits too specifically, but this one happened specifically WHILE the other characters were still measuring. He was like "psheh why need measurements and data, live on the edge".

Yes it's clearer now, but still doesn't make it anymore practical then the double sided one. I think people are getting riled up over nothing. I think the difference is that most people consider the double-bladed saber dumb but cool as it provides two sides for cutting, but consider this just dumb and not cool because it literally does nothing? I dunno, I said it looked dumb when the art leaked.

I didn't say I'd actively pick ignorance over not knowing, but it is often easier when you're ignorant. -
I'd say that's more Bruckheimer than Disney. I guess they expected him to be a clone of Jango Fett. I suppose the whole Clone Troopers =/= Stormtroopers thing was never really explained inside the movie universe. Attack of the Clones makes it seem like Stormtroopers were clones all along.
