  1. Ok, now I want to try it out. Tutorials always get me to try out learning hwo to use an engine.
  2. 2d graphics look great in screenshots, but in motion they start to look more like paintings. Unless there's a perspective thingymagig like in Diablo 2, which made the graphisc pretty damn good. EDIT: That does look really damn good.
  3. Sorry, at first I was just pointing it out. TBH, I don't really know how I'd use this engine, maybe in making a 2d isometric RPG... I'm guessing you can make some high res (or photorealistic) environments, right? Do you have any plans on making a game for it? If only as a demo to show off what the engine can do? 'Grats on the release, but I'm part of those who only played a single 2d game in their life, so I guess I don't see the nostalgia factor or the need for a 2D game engine.
  4. Damnit, now I'll be wondering for the entire week!
  5. My 360 RRoD'd.
  6. Let's start guessing. I predict Ron Perlman will be in this game in some form or another.
  7. Meaning you'd have to pay once for the multiplayer game, a second time for a single player campaign, and a rolling-third-ad-infinitum for the mp monthly fee?! What kind of evil, greedy publisher would dream of concocting such a scheme?! Oh wait...nm. It's like how MGS4 is a single player game and MGSOnline is multiplayer game. They fit together (kinda) but they still play differently. It's a brilliant scheme for money and success. EA/LucasArts should consider it.
  8. I'm pretty sure that there are a lot of acronyms out there that mean something something similar in some language ) Simply pronounce it as the English number 5, that's at least how I do it. Say whatever you want, this is still the **** engine.
  9. A KotOR MMO might be the multiplayer counterpart to a single-player KotOR 3.
  10. I predicted it... mostly because Bio gave away most of the plot in the trailers and previews. But the PC never makes any huge mistakes. I exagerated on that I guess, but the super-serious soldiers in space still stands.
  11. K2's Jedi Academy scene made me sad. Even the Halo series made me sad and/or happy (especially 3's after the credits ending, which always brings a smile to my face). Ace Combat 6's final mission was actually emotional (the music helps a lot). Lost Planet's beginning made me expect something rather good and gave me a feeling of anticipation. Battlefield Bad Company made me laugh. All this time Bioware has promised emotions in it's stories, but what I got in Mass Effect was a predictable plot with an always-right hero and super-serious soldiers in space. I guess I could put it into the disapointment list, but it was still a pretty good game. EDIT: I do',t even understand WTF is going on in MGS4 but some scenes were incredibly emotional.
  12. Las Vegas might be a good example. Rainbow Six managed to have some nice night time environments there.
  13. Watch the Animatrix collection. It ranges from amazing action to surprisingly deep. And you don't have to be a specialist in the Matrix to understand everything about it.
  14. I have an incredibly awful computer. It can't even run WoW at anything but low graphics. It can't render 3d shadows either. This is why I don't play on the PC (and miss all the good smart stuff), but I've gotten sick of dropping framerates and I actually have money to spend for once. The problem is I have no idea where to start. I would REALLY appreciate help or suggestions... heck, anything might help. My current specs (if they actually change anything) are: 512 Mb RAM Intel 960 video card 516 Intel Pentium 4 processor I'm trying to keep it below 1000$... Preferrably much lower. So what would make for a good rig, able to run all the latest games but not necessarily Crysis at max settings, while still relatively cheap. Maybe I'm asking for a miracle, but you guys know more than I do. I'm also wondering whether I should just give up and buy a whole new computer. So please Obsidian, Pimp my Comp!
  15. I'm pretty sure we'll still have to reload.
  16. I enjoy K2 immensely anyway, as the characters and story are incredibly well designed and intriguing. A finished K2 would have been amazing.
  17. Ooh, give us first impressions ASAP.
  18. You found 993 bugs and glitches? Youch, this mod is serious work.
  19. The good part is even if they wind up giving up on fixing all the bugs, they can still release it and it'll fix a lot of stuff.
  20. It's an isometric perspective, but not an isometric-based engine. Back on topic, this doesn't feel like Fallout 3. It could simply be Fallout: (insert title here), but this is no sequel. Sequels keep the core gameplay and expand, this is Oblivion with guns in a setting that means to lure fans of Fallout.
  21. How about every time you shoot you have a minigame where you gide the bullet? Or having it play like an RTS! Totally reasonable changes to the game. It's easy too.
  22. Blank spaces leave room for imgination, which is surprisingly a bad thing in this case.
  23. So what games do you really want to avoid? You don't have to have played it, though. Personally, Sonic the Hedgehog [360/PS3] was awful. Sonic is always awful. Lameass dialogue with VAs that made me cry in pain and terrible controls... Ples lackluster graphics and an increased chance to RRoD. I also want to avoid Too Human and Fracture. They sound stupid, especially Fracture, where the major selling point is raising and lowering the ground (admit it, that's the most boring gimmick ever) and has some absolutely terrible acting and story.
