  1. Your? " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Feck, wrong thread. I'm soooooo gonna follow Astr0creep to Hell now. :"> <{POST_SNAPBACK}> http://savage-dream.de/audio/Home_mp3/High...ell%20-ACDC.mp3
  2. Exactly. So the next logical step would be to subract 100 points from Baley for failure to remember T.O.M.B.S. rules. Also, 100 points to kirottu for the little "gem".
  3. Of course I am. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  4. ummm, yeah, K1 has been out longer. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I know that. I'm referring to the number of sales within a specific timeframe.
  5. -200 points to Rayth for possibly being an alt. But since he has yet to post anything that might draw flaming usually reserved for n00bs, I award him 300 points! Anyhow, I think I'm going to scrap my review and start on someone else, someone I know a little better. Sorry, RP. Take away more points if you want.
  6. Actually, from what I heard K2 so far has been financially less successful then K1.
  7. Please, no. It's been done at least a hundred times. Also, wrong section for that.
  8. Maybe the game could focus on Bastila before K1. There's a whole 5-years between K1 and K2. We don't know for sure what Bastila was doing all that time, except hiding (LS) or looking for Revan (DS). But we don't know exactly what she did or the experiences she encounted. What if maybe the game was sort of an "interlude" between K2 and K3, focusing on Bastila searching for Revan and trying to search for the True Sith? Perhaps it could end with her finding Revan or some ultra-important piece of information about the True Sith, then having to fight some big battle. I think it could work out. Especially since, unlike Revan, she already has a set gender, and the game wouldn't really have to write about the exile, just Revan.
  9. If the devs who do K3 were smart, they'd ignore midi chlorons and the "wound in the force" concepts altogether. Being IMO the two stupidest ideas ever to come to SW, with the possible exception of Jar Jar Binks. Both concepts seemed little more than a lazy and ill-written attempt to explain some weird phenomena in the movie/game, while making little or no sense.
  10. I tend to agree with Lyric Suite on this one. Blizzard's apology was most likely to avoid confrontation. The way things are in our country, any move that can be considered homophobic is devoured by the media and the gay/lesbian community and brings all sorts of negative attention.
  11. And I'm saying that you don't make statements like yours about any historical figure when you don't have anything to back it up, which you already admitted. You're making things up! You're opinion is already void! You don't seem to realize, unless you're referring to the common peasents, that many ancient civilizations did have knowledge of the topics you mentioned. Those such as ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, and China, for instance, all held knowledge in one or more of those areas. You assume they knew nothing about any of the topics you mentioned, also rather far-fetched, since for one thing as fishermen they would have to have a knowledge of the ocean, including shallow water, and knowledge of loss of conscoiusness was known as well. See, you assume that Jesus had to have had some vast knowledge that comes from being educated and traveling the world, and that's why you believe he did so, even you have nothing to base your opinion on except that gut feeling alone. Of course you need evidence to know things, genius. Otherwise the things you think you know are really just what you think. If you admit you base your feelings on nothing, then you've already lost the argument. You're just basing things on, basically, faith for which you have no basis. Wait, suddenly I need proof to have my faith but you don't? Are you a hypocrite now, or just contradicting yourself for the sake of being right? See, as I've told others on this forum, I don't base my faith on faith alone. I base it on faith, historical evidence/fact, and yes, science. I thought you said you didn't have any evidence? See, this is one reason why your argument is doomed to fail if you keep talking like this. No, this forum is not a court of law. But in any debate whatsoever, if you're going to state your opinion on anything, you'd better be prepared to back yourself up. It's considered courteous and appropriate. Otherwise, it's just your "gut feeling", which is meaningless. If you can't, nobody's going to listen to you or take you seriously. Mostly they'll just take you for a nutjob.
  12. Another fascinating thing is killing an enemy, then raising them back to life as a skeleton to do your bidding. :D That's probably the coolest aspect of the Necromancer - summoning spells. Golems are fun to use, too. As far as the poison and bone category, I'd say one of the most useful is "poison dagger".
  13. My personal take on something historical is that we can't just learn it from one source, but many. It must be studied and parsed. Only then can we learn what is "true" or not. But you see, having some evidence is better than having none. Otherwise, you might as well say it's pointless to learn history as all of it can be a lie. But that's not so.
  14. That's the way a lot of history is preserved my friend, through writing. If that's your logic, you might as well say all of history can be a sham. And anyway, if you have no evidence, which you just admitted (one of the stupidest things to say), then you're just making things up and going with your gut feeling. Anyhoo, one does not learn about history by just "taking a trip" (not in the sense you're talking about). Culture, yes, not history. Our history is learned by what those in the past record.
  15. No, not if you play DSF. Then you can kill Carth.
  16. Just as a little note here, don't use the term "Bible" in this case. He only inspired the New Testament/Christianity. The Old Testament all existed prior to Jesus' time. I trust you did know that, right?
  17. I was referring to Surreptishus. But it doesn't automatically heal a nation, though. If you still try to separate one race from the other, one history from the other, then that's still segregation. Going back to the point in my previous post, I believe true healing would be wear we stop making distinctions and incorporate all histories into our education. There are many in my country, blacks included, who feel "Black History" month only prolongs the racial divide here in the states. But hey, what do I know? It's not like I have credibility. Right?
  18. Ice/Lightning. Even though I'm more of a Necromancer - Summoning/Curses.
  19. Blacks aren't the only race in history that's suffered segregation. Perhaps you'd like for there to be a "Jewish history" month? Maybe a "Hispanic history" month as well? Anyway, back to meta, my point is that things like Black History Month may start out with good intentions, but really mostly what they do is only contribute to the racial divide in America. If we're still making distinctions based on skin color, for good or bad, it's a pretty sad statement. The moment we stop looking at mere skin color, trying to work together, and not holding grudges against a particular race, the better. If we want to learn about Black history, incorporate it into our mainstream education. That is when we'll be truly reconciled and inclusive. But don't set aside a specific time period for it, otherwise that division will always exist.
  20. The issue wasn't them using the word "gay" positively, but creating a guild for those of particular belief/sexual orientation.
  21. But in today's day and age, are you really advocating a "Black History" month?
  22. Point not found? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That if some message boards can do it, why not Blizzard. I think.
  23. I know they do, but a lot of it is matter of opinion. These forums right here might ban somebody for expressing explicitely bigotted views, such as racism, on these boards. But do you think they'd be overstepping by banning a member for using the term "gay" to describe something negatively? Someone might take offense, but many would not. How are they supposed to know all the time? When would they draw the line? Also, WoW is a lot larger of an arena than most message boards out there. Hence, it'd be easier for the admins of message boards like these to just hit the ban button every time something like this pops up. It'd be harder for Blizzard to employ the same process. And personally, I think it'd be rather trite of them to ban or punish their members for every little verbal slip that might be considered remotely offensive. Same way with these boards here. I didn't use the word "gay" to describe Shadowstrider naturally. I was trying to make a point. Using slang words like that might offend, and might be a testament to one's own ignorance. But would banning them really help the situation, or change their views in any way?
  24. It isn't Blizzard's place to suddenly become the "moral educator" on the internet. Banning everyone who uses the word "gay" negatively for one thing will not solve the problem. There will always be people doing it. Then of course you'd have to ban those who say anything even remotely offensive, such as saying things like "retarded" negatively, of saying "Jesus Christ" as a swear word. Blizzard is not an ethicator, it's a business. In fact, one could easily say Blizzard shouldn't have to apologize, because it's their game community, and they are free to do what they wish. And if you think I'm advocating Blizzard to permit people to say horribly offensive things online, I'm not. I'm saying I think it's stupid and pointless to ban them for trite things such as what we're debating here. And I'll say it again, silencing those whom you disagree with will never solve the problem. That was the lesson of Fahrenheit 451. A person's views will, in the vast majority of circumstances, not be changed by the policies enforced by a game company. Blizzard will not cleanse the population of homophobes just by hitting the might "ban" button. The only way to counter bad ideas is with better ideas. They are a business, for one thing, not a school. Maybe in a more ideal world something like this might work, but not so now.
