  1. Reading his wiki page, he seems like he's the sort of guy who personifies EVERYTHING that's wrong with modern news culture. As a newspaper man, he printed VERY obvious fake photos and aimed more for the headline that would get readers than actual... news. Also the man seems to have a serious hatred for anyone who's a celeb, except himself. Why'd they choose to have him replace Larry King?
  2. I own oblivion, and my most regretted purchases list is Ubersoldier Star Wars Rebellion (which, in my game, had a force sensative Adm. Ozzel managing to hold off three fleets and an army of spec ops) C&C 4 (as a standalone... it was on sale, but still)
  3. Actually the "Militant" side of things are the types who go out of their way to explain to people how they're such fools to even think about believing in any higher power, and instead should be looking to their own devices for explanations. Regardless of if that person is actually using their higher power to explain the unexplained instead of just as a nebulous concept.
  4. I can see why Clarkson took a swing at Piers. Watching Zimmerman's brother, it's amazing to see how well he's able to maintain the conversation and force his points across. The other interview that Volo posted sounded like two old yahoos yelling at each other about how one relieved himself in the others yard, while this one he's very articulate and drives home some points while also trying to cut through Morgans obviously barbed attacks. And the only thing from that interview that's been picked up by the news is "And now he has to worry about vigilanties" which the comedy shows use to say "HA! HYPOCRITE!"
  5. Well, beyond the censorship etc already mentioned, I think it's how the church reacts if anything REMOTELY against them pops up. Basically they will go through everything they can to harass, annoy, and deconstruct you and your life if you go against them. I mean the reason they're a religion in the eyes of the law is because they basically twisted the IRS arm by blackmailing it's employees. Unfortunately for them, progress is marching on and the "Hactivisist" have made the church a favored target. If the church gets to out of line, then you're probably going to be facing a pretty intense opposition campaign from the internet. I mean, Blizzard attempted to force people to post using their account name (as in, your billing name), and the internet made one of their QA teams life a hell until Blizz rolled it back (they'd released his name to say "See? Nobody can find out where he lives!" and the internet found where he lives and everything about him in less than 2 hours).
  6. That video... they're both idiots. On one hand: "I think this 19 year old high school student is doing exactly what she needs to and is awesome!" While everything I've seen of her has shown that she's not that bright (cultural context) On the other "60% of the crimes in this nation are being done by black people!" I highly doubt that.
  7. Dude, that's technically an MMO.
  8. If it was so, then why police didn't for example investigated Zimmerman's background before media involement albeit they did so for Martin? Or did majority of media outlets give false information about the case in this matter? I'm on record, having gotten a lot of the points wrong on this case, so shoot me down for asking. But I thought they didn't originally bring a case? They didn't. http://www.cnn.com/2013/07/10/justice/sanford-bill-lee-exclusive According to the Ex Chief of the Police, they had stupid amounts of political pressure on them to make an arrest to make it look like they were doing something because of the media coverage. When the shooting first happened you couldn't go into any crime news story without it being turned into a Martin story (I specifically cited one article on these boards because it was an Arabic woman who got killed explicitly due to racism, but her story became about Zimmerman v Martin)
  9. IMO, you can't condone that sort of behavior by the staff, because it becomes endemic and soon EVERYONE is getting roughed up, not just the "truely dastardly ones"
  10. There's a few times where you do that. IMO one of the issues with Tomb Raider has already been stated. The other is that, thematically, it matched itself to Far Cry 3 a wee to well. Both games are ultimately a 20 something being stuck on a primitive island with semi-mystical forces at work. Far Cry arguably handles it better because not everyone on the island is pure kill crazy, while on the Tomb Raider island, EVERYONE Lara meets that didn't show up with her, is attempting to kill her. Also, Lara was IMO a bit to... weak(? probably not the right word but I'm tired) at the start of the game, with her barely being able to survive and the ENTIRE TIME you're listening to her panicked "Oh god! Please! Oh God!" over and over again. Tossing on my Faux Game Dev hat, I'm gonna say that were I constructing Lara's reboot adventure, I'd have her being a grad student who's part of a dig or something. The tutorial has her unlocking and opening a tomb that they found, which kids off the main plot. Make it an Indiana Jones style "Magical Macguffin" chase, rather than "Are you the Predator? or the Prey?" with her first kill (that she spends some down time coming to terms with) being a bandit who attacked the crew and tried to make off with said Macguffin.
  11. The fact hispanics are referred to as white dates back to the fight over their civil rights. For most of it, (until brown pride) they were fighting to be recognized as "white" by the government, and thus enjoy the civil protections of being white while allowing the African population to just get run over. Basically it was "We can do what you can do Mr. White Sir, because there's only to races on the books, and we certainly ain't black!"
  12. My personal cult is kinda small, but I have big plans for brainwashing.
  13. Meh, I really don't care that much about guns, so take your pick. It was just a point of illustration that humanity gave us guns and yet somehow owning and keeping guns is magically a god given right. I mean, if it was god given, wouldn't it just be rocks and tree branches like when we were first maturing as a species (and a pack of rapists)?
  14. for some reason, on re-reading that particular post... I'm wondering if god went on the 10th day "Screw it! SHOTGUNS FOR EVERYBODY!" and left a pristine Remmington 500 just sitting on the ground for somebody to discover.
  15. To be fair, until the last century, you could walk out of your door and be killed by the world around you. Like nature world, not other humans.
  16. Well apparently it's god's amendment given that it's the only one that will be defended tooth and nail to exist entirely unmolested, while every other one has provisios on when it can be suspended.
  17. Have my schedule for next semester. Done every day at noon except on weds
  18. The Aboriginie's and a survivor of a plane crash.
  19. Dynasty Warriors EIGHT! *plays generic rock while slamming his way through 3 armies* And the nice part is that this time, It got a good review from destructoid instead of "Eh, more of the same. BUT MADDEN IS AWESOMESAUSE!"
  20. Yes, although I think that technically the other guy would get a lesser sentance due to povocation.
  21. Did he write his Ese about being Jesus?
  22. "They were young, and needed a publisher..." So they went the Caligula rout for publishing?
  23. Fifth Amendment sayth unto the "HELL NO!" as that's considered double jepordy. Otherwise Michael Jackson woudl have been in court for his entire life to fight off all of the various "appeals for justice" thrown at his name.
  24. picked up Borderlands 2 on mah pc while it was on sale. And the New Vegas DLC's as Tale has seen, and a few other things
  25. According to the former chief of Police in the area, the mayor and other higher ups basically forced him to make the arrest so that they could look like they were doing something to the media. His side of things was that when the police were initially involved there wasn't anything to suggest that a crime had technically been comitted. Like I said, they had an issue on both sides and Zimmerman does have some fault for it, but he still was considered in self defense.
