star wars books contradicting other books (and movies)
Calax replied to seejai's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I miss the days before the newer trilogy when there was no such thing as forms or styles there was merely the force and using it. -
and I played halo3 and beat it on normal. Its good, the ending bugged me but others love it so :meh: Now i wait for Halo wars :sigh: Oh and I'm playing dynasty warriors gundam.

OK, FULLER review of Zeta, It's a deep deep series. each of the characters is fleshed out beyond "good guy" and "bad guy". Usually you see that except for a series of events most likely the main characters could be swapped and they'd still do fine in the opposing role to what they are in. I don't mean that in a bad way Just that the characters are so defined that they are able to retain who they are even if they were to change positions within the story, which in gundam, often isn't the case. It's also a very emotional story. the main character Kamille is beaten by cops, beaten by the military, shunned by his father, lives with the fact that his father has a younger lover other than his mother, has to watch someone kill his mother by destroying a capsule she's in in space (it spares you the gore of explosive decompression) and ultimately he becomes a war orphan. all of this within the first five or six episodes of a fifty odd episode serial. For most of the Obsidianites here on the boards I'd recommend it, except for sand because he hates everything. and I give it one GIANT poster of Char because it's too good to put a number next to.

Started watching Zeta gundam. It's a little slow but ultimately extremely good. The story is quite adult (a kid gets his parent killed in the first three episodes) although the animation is ancient. I think tale might like it but unless your into the emotional storylines I'd suggest staying away from this.

the same reason you cheat at a game they don't want to have to do the drudge work to get the rewards and go to certain places.

Oh, Zechs, hes special. He went all villainy in the end because he wanted peace through power.

Seed/seed destiny I'll give you, but wing I don't know because I havent' seen it (didn't have cartoon network when it was on). However the origonals (0079, Zeta ZZ and 0080) don't have nearly as many plotholes. probably because they were short (80 mainly) and under the direction of ONE guy who started the whole thing (except for 0080)
-
thats' just how I heard it described as a "high octane tv show who's plot had alot of holes in it" 0080 is a FANTASTIC show btw
-
wasn't 83 the highoctane low plotpower one? Oh, by the end of next week I should have Zeta in my hands (it's supposed to be one of the better ones) and I'll give it a full review with a new rating picture.

still gundam seed... still seeing it as "Mobile Suit Gundam 0079" remade for the 20th century. It's even got the bloody newtype "zing" dealy to it. I'm nearing the end and it's started to get ridiculous. Nukes on one side, Gamma cannon on the other side, with two mobile suits in the middle that dearly want the entire thing to stop, also a pair of armies that rush blindly to genocide (admittedly they've both been whipped into a frenzy by the leaders) but the fact that leaders are going to go so far as to wipe out a good sized detachment of their own troops to get at the enemy seems like it'd never happen under any circumstances (think dropping a nuke on a warzone that you've still got troops in) the animators got lazy at the end and have resorted to the "stand there and fire lazer cannons! then show the aftermath" style of animation. I give the series 2 out of five thinking chars

Sounds like every other Final Fantasy game to me. usually you get some nice rewards and a nice story scene at the end of each fight. Not what he described here.

How do you beat Super Mario Brothers without killing anyone?!
Calax replied to SilentScope001's topic in Computer and Console
That's Mario Land on Game Boy. That's Super Mario Bros 3. No, Super Mario Bros 3. has the magic flute. Super Mario Bros. has Warp Zones. Unless your comment pertained to speed runs, and there are definately more speed runs than just Super Mario Bros 3. There are legions of websites dedicated to them. i have seen the video of the original super mario done in 30 minutes. -
you'd like zeta from everything I've seen. It's very dark. Seed feels like a retelling of 0079 with a single solitary twist (three factions instead of two)
-
other than the incredibly emo parts Seed isn't that bad of a series. Admittedly it's Message gets way to preachy that it overtakes the show but Eh, it could do worse.
-
Gundam Seeds Kira Yamato is actually a superhero named CAPTAIN EMO!
-
If my memory serves me correctly, that's the Black Racer. He can kill you with a touch, apparantly, so I wouldn't be making fun of his skis. Then again, go ahead, Sluggo, and tell him he looks stupid. actually anyone who he casts his shadow over is dead... at one point in an alternate reality he casts it over the entire universe at the same time.

Arisia's back too... you know, the hot gl?

You didn't even mention the corps war going on in DC. WHY DID YOU NOT MENTION A GIANT SENTIENT PLANET WITH A LANTERN RING GOING TO WAR!? >.>

street fighter was worse than MK:A

Wait until you get to the part(s) where he cries. Seriously the funniest and most shameful moment in anime history I've ever experienced. I just like the fact that all the story is there. Lacus(or Frey)'s relationship with Kira. no disco guns, and the proper intro.

in highschool they used the european siren as a way to say that theres an intruder while the regular fire alarm was used to signify evacuation... only problem is that a half way intelligent shooter could use the fire alarm to inflict the most damage (pointing this out in a letter lead to me nearly being prosecuted for terrorist threats. admittedly the point it out was attached to a letter that was suicidal but hey that second part is what got me off.

There was Freedom Force vs the 3rd Reich, which was a direct sequel to the original. It was good, but I wanted the original plan to come to fruition. the modern age ones... would probably have alot of guys with guns fighting a secret society, only to have to defrost Minuteman in order to save the world from a meteor!

... you have no idea what the back room at gamestop looks like right now with a skillion copies of halo sitting there

started watching gundam seed subs... It's really different than the ones that were shown in america. I hope zeta gundam is more like this.
