Stats for prestiage classes.
The Omnifarious Host replied to ACDC_Sabbath's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It won't be that hard to guess how the stats work. The Jedi Watchman is a Super Guardian The Jedi Weapon Master will probably have supreme Dexterity and Strength. Could level up automatically with certain melee weapon feats. What we do know about the Jedi Master is that he/she will recover force points very quickly. I would think that a Jedi Master would have maxed out Wisdom points as well. Since a Jedi has to use more Force points to cast powers look for the Sith Prestige classes to be dominant in alot of situations, but I also understand that there are some penalties for all that badness. For example, Force Storm could fry your entire party along with enemies. Check out Darth Malak's Stats as described by Wizards: Darth Malak: Male Human Jedi Guardian 11/Sith Lord 9 Init +2 (+2 Dex); Defense 26 (+2 Dex, +14 class); Spd 10 m; VP/WP 158/16; Atk +23/+18/+13/+8 melee (7d8 +5, lightsaber) or +24/+19/+14/+9 melee (2d6 +9, crit 19-20, ancient mastercraft Sith sword), +20/+15/+10/+5 ranged; SQ Block, DR 5, enhanced Force powers, deflect (defense +2, attack -3), exceptional minions, Jedi Knight, resource access; SV Fort . Fortitude+16 Reflex +15 Will +14 Force Points 11 - DarkSide Points 30 Repair +5 Strength 20 Dexterity 14 Constitution 16 Intelligence 13 Wisdom 17 Charisma 20 Force Skills: Affect Mind +9, Control Mind +14, Battlemind +17, Enhance Ability +15, Fear +20, Force Defense +15, Force Grip +18, Force Lightning +24, Force Strike +11, Move Object +15, Telepathy +13. Feats: Combat Reflexes, Exotic Weapon Proficiency (lightsaber), Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Sith sword)*, Force-Sensitive, Power Attack, Skill Emphasis (Knowledge [sith Lore]), Weapon Group Proficiency (blaster pistols, simple weapons). Force Feats: Alter, Burst of Speed, Control, Drain Force*, Force Mind, Force Whirlwind, Hatred*, Knight Defense, Lightsaber Defense, Malevolent, Master Defense, Mettle, Rage*, Sense, Sith Sorcery*, Sith Sword Defense*. Special Qualities: Damage Reduction 5 -- Darth Malak ignores the first five points of any kind of damage. Whether this is due to hidden armor linked to his voice mask or the physical result of Sith alchemy is anyone's guess. -
Now isn't that interesting? So we haven't seen Atris yet. Now I'm really curious about her!

You start out as one of the three Jedi classes available in KotOR1. I believe your starting alignment is neutral'ish. Eventually you switch to one of the six prestige classes. I imagine that once you pick a prestige class, you can't ever change classes after that. So no, there are no beginning Sith classes. -Akari Thanks for clearing that up for me Akari

Gamespots rumor control
The Omnifarious Host replied to kumquatq3's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think KotOR 2 will be a better game than most, if not all, of the big games of 2004 but it can't compete in sales. Really high-profile games coming out towards the end of the year. Halo 2 Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Gran Turismo 4 Metal Gear Solid 3 Resident Evil 4 Metroid Prime 2 All of these games are pretty much going to sell over a million copies based off of name recognition alone. Then there is Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 which are both coming out soon and those are going to sell a lot of copies during the holiday season as well. Analysts call these games "murderer's row" because other games are going to get crushed by them. If KotOR 2 comes out in 1st quarter 2005 it will be competing against a much weaker lineup. You can add Fable to that list -
Be a bad person. <_< hmmmmmmmmm

I know but they are Jedi specific classes. What if you know you want to be a Sith from the beginning?
-
Okay we know that there are Jedi classes like Guardian, Sentinel, and Consular. These classes will lead to the prestige Jedi Classes of Master, Watchman, and Weapon Master. But what about the Sith beginning classes? Will the Sith have seperate classes like Sith Acolyte, Sith Warrior, and finally Sith Sorcerer or Sith Witch that will lead to the Sith Prestige classes?

NEW KOTOR II Trailer
The Omnifarious Host replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Kreia is probably a Cathar -
Morgan was asked if some hoods would be put up by Old Skool, and he answered yes. He also told Old Skool that hoods would not effect awareness or persuasion. So hang in there folks. The Devs are coming through for us on the hoods. Just not exactly the way some of us would like. I think we can live with this.
-
What this means is that DEVS will probably provide different types of robes in the game. This particular robe Kreia is wearing is probably always hooded. This is really okay if you look at it the right way. Some robes will probably have the hood up all the time, other robes will have the hood down all the time. It would only require a little alternating during game play for whatever look that you wanted. That's not much to ask if that is the only way that the DEVS can give people what they are asking for.

Force Spirits on Dantooine?
The Omnifarious Host replied to The Omnifarious Host's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Actually Vrook showed alot of emotion. Play a darkside game. When you have your dream about Malak and Revan, lie about it to the Council when they question you. Watch Vrook's reactiion and then ask yourself if he showed no emotion. Vrook was grumpy the whole time. If you did turn to the darkside then you basically proved Master Vrook was right about you all along. -

My point is, it just doesn't sound like they are saying these things as fillers in a paragraph -
Force Spirits on Dantooine?
The Omnifarious Host replied to The Omnifarious Host's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
There are other reference made in the diary as well. The halls of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant lie empty, and the waters in the Room of a Thousand Fountains have fallen still, in reverence to the Jedi who fell to the Sith in battle... or were seduced by the lure of the Dark Side. I think that this image represents "the Room of a Thousand Fountains" reference. And I can only hope that the reference to Coruscant means that we get to see the Jedi Temple there. -
Force Spirits on Dantooine?
The Omnifarious Host replied to The Omnifarious Host's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The Jedi Academy on Dantooine, once a center of learning and enlightenment, is now nothing more than a series of abandoned ruins that echo with the ghosts of dead Jedi. I believe that this statement has significance. I don't think it would have been mentioned at all if it didn't matter to the game's story. Also I don't think people should get too wrapped up in Force Sprits and how they relate to the canon films. We all know that KOTOR is an EU story, so anything is possible. BTW, with enough persuasion pts you can save the spirit of Ajunta Pall so that he returns to the light and becomes one with the Force. If you think about it, there won't be a heck of alot happening on Dantooine. The place has been bombed out, the Jedi Enclave is in ruins, the small population of farmers were probably wiped. So what else is there to do on Dantooine except explore the ruins and piece together the puzzle of what happened 5 years ago for the PC? That alone is reason enough to believe that the trip to Dantooine will mean meeting up with Force Spirits of the Enclave Council. Their guidance is probably necessary in perhaps finding other Jedi, the PC's missing lightsaber, and other tasks. If I had to speculate on a scenario, I would would bet that the Force Sprits send you to find Master Vandar in a very Empire Strikes Backish kind of way. KOTOR is mirroring the OT quite closely. I not only will not be suprised, but fully expect that TSL is the ESB of the KOTOR saga. So I think Force Spirits at the Enclave are a strong possiblity, but as others have said, we will have to wait and see. -

I take back what I said about Vrook. If you played the Darkside Revan then Vrook was right about you all along. -
Force Spirits on Dantooine?
The Omnifarious Host replied to The Omnifarious Host's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yeah, Vrook will probably be a very grumpy spirit. Probably haunting the Enclave with his grumbling. -
It is the twilight of the Jedi. The Jedi Order, nearly brought to an end by the Sith in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, have scattered, vanishing into the deepest reaches of space. The Jedi Academy on Dantooine, once a center of learning and enlightenment, is now nothing more than a series of abandoned ruins that echo with the ghosts of dead Jedi. The halls of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant lie empty, and the waters in the Room of a Thousand Fountains have fallen still, in reverence to the Jedi who fell to the Sith in battle... or were seduced by the lure of the Dark Side. These are the opening words to the Designer Diary at the Official Site. Of those words I bring attention to, "The Jedi Academy on Dantooine, once a center of learning and enlightenment, is now nothing more than a series of abandoned ruins that echo with the ghosts of dead Jedi" *using best Shaggy voice* Ghosts?!! I was wondering if this illudes to the possibility of encounters with Force Spirits on Dantooine? There were Masters Vander, Zhar, Dorak, and Vrook(voiced by Ed Asner). If so, I would say that would be great, very Star Wars. To meet with the spirits of the Enclave Council would be very much like Obiwan on Dagobah. Come to think of it. Vandar didn't die on Dantooine, so he probably won't be a Force Spirit at all. During the course of the game I sent so many people to Dantooine to turn from the dark side. Yuthura, the renegade students, Kel(the doubting Sith) and anybody else who would listen to my sermonizing about the Jedi and the light side. Sometimes I felt like a missionary. But seriously, an ecounter with the Force Spirits of the Enclave Council would be fantastic.

At some point in the first game I found myself wishing that I could spar with Bastilla, Jolee, or Juhani. Practice duels could have carried a limit of exp points, and then required that you reach another level before being allowed to spar again. It would have helped you balance out your character and the other members of your party by knowing their strengths and weaknesses in combat as well. Perhaps in sparring mode you could experiment with other FEATS and POWERS so that when you level up you would know which ones would enhance your character and your party best. Maybe you could earn free bonus FEATS and POWERS if the Jedi in your party teach them to you in sparring mode. Just a thought.

I think I found an Image of Dantooine
The Omnifarious Host replied to Archmonarch's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Then why the creature? They did have 5 years to rebuild after all. Besides thats just a small part of the world. The rest could be bombed out I know what you are saying, but everything that I have heard so far suggests that Dantooine was terribly ravaged by Malak and the Sith. Those are are very early images, and the DEVS could have been using the Kath Hounds as test models. While I can't be certain I think those are images of Telos. -
I think I found an Image of Dantooine
The Omnifarious Host replied to Archmonarch's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'm afraid not my friend. Dantooine would have a bombed out appearence after the planet came under attack by Malak's fleet. -
Bastila vs. Atris
The Omnifarious Host replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I can remember at the Bioware boards there were these guys talking about what it would be like to have sex with Bastilla. It was just weird. These are the same guys who "read" Maxim,FHM, and whatever other lad magazines there are out there telling them what is cool and what isn't, who they should be attracted to and who they shouldn't etc etc. I mean they get turned on by these ultra skinny girls weighing 90 pounds with a double D bosom. So of course they are turned on by pixellated women. -
Poorly written article in my opinion. The DEVS have already said the PC doesn't suffer from memory loss. Late and short on facts. Not a good review.

A Rakata as one of your party members.
The Omnifarious Host replied to Tyrell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I liked the Rakatan. I don't think we'll be lucky enough to have one in our party though. Someone has to the take the Zaalbar role this time. It might as well be a Rakatan. Others I'd like to see would be: Quermian Bothan
