Rugby World Cup
As a crumpet eater I have to express disappointment that we're playing such a strong kicking game. But then if you chaps were beter maybe you'd lock us down!

Online Community Makes Strides Towards Democracy After Allegation of Corruption
With sufficient money involved you'll see organised crime get in on the act. Look at cricket.

Well, I admire your resilience.

How was the next next day?
Calax, forstly, your position sucks, no question. Second people beat cancer every day. It is vital that you and your folks understand and believe they are going to beat it. I could go on for pages about this, but the key points are: ATTITUDE: Work with your folks to lower stress and improve morale. This means getting them to forgive absolutely everything they can think of, and also to spend ten minutes every day focussing destructive anger on the cancer. NUTRITION: You need to up the intake of vital nutrients, starve the cancer, and permit everything to concentrate on defence. We're talking mass mobilisation. Cut out processed foods and all refined sugar. Fresh green vegetables, varied grains from oats to quinoa. EXERCISE: Gentle aerobic exercise is good for two reasons. It lowers stress, and it reduces the acidity of the body. If you do the above you stand a better chance of winning. But more importantly your folks will feel that they are taking charge of teh situation and will feel less depressed whatever happens.

President Ahmadinejad's Speech at Columbia University
Yuusha, I've only had time to read a few of your posts, for which I apologise. I do, however question the notion he is a 'great man'. I have a long list of points, but can you give me your opinion on the fact that homosexuals are publicly executed on TV in Iran? Or the fact that at another of his conferences a delegate praised Hitler for his genocidal attitude to te jews, saying it was analogous to 'jihad'?

Let's learn something new
Anyone interested in salvage engineering? It's similar to naval engineering, but deals primarily with the dynamics of damaged vessels.

Burma
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071001/ap_en_...bSndXyLT46s0NUE If that's verified that's insane. This is what dictatorship means, kids. You want to rule purely by force and fear of force you have to be brutal. Brutal on a scale and causing such suffering that is natural and PROPER that we should be revolted. Revolted as much as if it were happening to our neighbours and our friends. The militarty intrvention question is moot due to a lack of assets and the death of the dream of intervention in Iraq and Afghanistan. But it is also moot because in my opinion Myanmar is controlled not by a military junta but my the Triad 'mafia' and as such any new regime would merely be undermined from across the border.

EGM rumor: Obsidian working on a CIA game?
A realistic CIA game could be amazing, if it covers both sides of the story, the good, the bad and the ugly. Three sides.

Rage against the Scalpers - $16 million dollar tickets on Ebay.
If you can abuse the system and get away with it then the system deserves to be abused. *Walsingham cranks up the Sand blinker siren* Attention all personnel! Sand is entering his dogmatic mode. Do not under any circumstances attempt to reason with him!

French companies make Yankee ones look like kindergarten teachers. EDIT: Incidentally, I've seen reference to 'pro-military militias', in several reports. Any money on these being triads?

Brain-eating amoeba. Run for ze hillz!!
With the 'right' attitude just about anything is deadly. I could probably kill people with Sand if necessary.

And whether you are a patient now or then.

Is scalping illegal? If so, how do you prove it? I'm genuinely just curious.

Intervention sounds good, but it practically always seems to go wrong. In the early days of surgery and medicine the patient almost invariably ended up worse off. Would it have been wise to abandon the art completely?

I thought as much. Is it REALLY too mcgh to askk that we could have a normal company just once? One that - and I know I'm being a mad old fuddy duddy - works with its customers to produce good products and doesn't seek to control all mankind?

Off for a soldier
Maybe you could use the term 'tentacular'? That would give even more alliteration.

Rage against the Scalpers - $16 million dollar tickets on Ebay.
I wouldn't like to say for certain, and franky the odds of getting caught and prosecuted are miniscule, given that genuine fraudsters get away with crimes all the time. I just wouldn't want to be encouraging kids to do it.

Burma
Even Iraq managed a democratic constitution in three years, and that was while they were shooting at each other. Note that the Burmese people can rest easy, since we cannot intervene lest someone point out their oil reserves. It's very naughty to help countries with natural resources.

Like, awesome list.

Personally my British instincts tell me to side with the people goosing the scalpers. However, precisely because I sympathise I should point out that using false credentials may constitute a crime.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7017660.stm Hush now, what's that sound? It sounds like a vigorous thumping rolling noise, caused by Apple careening down the slopes of the moral high ground. Correct me if I'm wrong but a significant portion of apple-owners snootiness has always stemmed from the perception that Apple are not as evil as Microsoft. Surely behaviour like this undermines a key selling point? I admit I pay little attention to such stories ordinarily.

I would never question your credulity, darling. I merely question the likelihood of ever finding such a situation. EDIT: That's rubbish, of course. It could happen. For an example of what I'm talking about, check this out. NOTE THIS CONTAINS STRONG THEMES AND LANGUAGE
