Recent Isareli military action in Gaza
According to our training, British troops are required to avoid targetting a number of area types, provided they are clearly identifiable as such, inluding medical and cultural sites. You are also prohibited from deliberately targetting civilians. However, it is also an offence to abuse the protections afforded by these rules. So for example I can't pin a red cross to my helmet and go Rambo. If someone does that then they essentially cause the protection to disappear. I think it's fair to assert that some of the civilian casualties are the product of error rather than design, since Israeli has lost several of its own soldiers to incorrect artillery fire. However, I'd like to reiterate, that after considering this using game theory and confrontation theory there's no way a lasting peace can be concluded. I'm therefore officially uninterested in issue at anything other than broad abstract or close technical levels. You might as well stare intently at a rock.

What about shooting knowing without a shadow of a doubt that you will kill both the guy you are aiming at, and the guy standing next to him. Interesting. I don't know.

Does Obsidian make anything for non-window systems?
Sorry. Family things to worry about etc. I forgot I'd asked the question. If I had a console copy and a console, there's no way I'd buy another copy for another platform. Way too expensive for my tastes. I'm not dissing mac owners. I'm just saying that given the current state of things, if you want to play games and own a mac you are going to have to buy games for something else. Most likely a console. Therefore (and depending on the expense of porting to Mac) it is unlikely to pay off building a game for the mac. I'm not saying you have to like it; I'm just trying to understand the mechanics.

I really liked this book, actually. Good adolescent wake up call fodder.

Manu Chao, Clandestino. It's a like sipping one of those weird sugary orange cordials on the beach in a foreign city.

If I shoot at an unarmed civilian and kill him, knowing he is a civilian that is not the same as shooting at an armed opponent and missing.

What you did today
I'd suggest some sort of acorn crust, perhaps lightly salted and blended with olive oil to give it a nice rich and smooth consistency and then stir in some extra for crunch and just smear it over shrykes vital areas such as the neck and groin so the squirrels are highly enticed. Of course what the squirrels don't know is that it's laced with cyanide and while shryke is being mauled to death he's sown the seeds of fate for each one of those cute little fury guys. And of course in the event that shryke survives the initial attack the cyanide has already leached into his skin or open wounds so were covered on all basis. You can thank me for my tactical prowess later Wals, it's time to get the cogs moving. Why do I get the wierd feeling that sluggo has fashioned a crude subordinate's uniform out of pieces of my old discarded clothing, and a beret?

Man with six billions kills self after losing one billion
Story. I can't decide if this is the dumbest reason to kill yourself ever, or a pretty good murder plan. Mind you, what exactly IS the point in hoarding six billion together? I mean, what do you do with it? You aren't a dragon. You can't sleep on it.

Indeed, one thing you can say about the Aussies. They know when a job wants doing, and they bloody stick to it.

What you did today
Maybe the trick would be to lure them out with some kind of warrior dance. A "Come and fight" thing, like the haka. Shryke's bored, and he does a lot of dancing, and he's from New Zealand. Maybe he could do it for you.

You mean like Nelson Mandela? If he's a sort of terrorist can we shoot him with a sort of bullet?

Hmm. But both use avatars, yes?

wh40k demons
I've been reading the excellent Eisenhorn trilogy, by Dan Abnett, and it just occurred to me that in many ways the experience of a daemon in our universe would be like Neo, bending or breaking the rules due to their ability to cohere in additional dimensions. Have I gone mad?

Hold on, mate. Give the man a chance to grasp our argument. The fault could lie in our explanation.

Recent Isareli military action in Gaza
I'm kind of done with arguing this point, but i think it's not argumentative to highlight the tiny size of Israel. It's about 50 miles across. It's not like there's much room to work with.

What you did today
Don't do it, shryke. Or you'll end up wizened and moody aged thirty. I'm starting to think my old rat problem was actually squirrels, listening to you guys. They used to prat about in the roof space of my old apartment, causing a huge ruckus, but never tried to get in at my food. Can't you put the cats on bungees? Or, better still, get dogs?

Wikipedia is like being at a particularly drunk party at a convention centre. Loads of people, some mental, some experts, trying to tell you stuff.

New word competition
My favs so far; "custe" and "copaste" for functionality Any more flowery words? Copaste should be the technical term. but how about the action of copasting smugly, or ineptly?

Australia to Resettle Guantanamo Detainees
I think I've managed to derail us. Gitmo detainees. Some innocents, but mostly highly dubious characters? If so, why on Earth would anyone want them?
