Japanese Support for Next-Gen Consoles
EnderAndrew replied to EnderAndrew's topic in Computer and Console
It's not such a big surprise that Japanese gamers are not psyched about the Xbox 360, even after its redesigned prettification and despite some high-profile defections (Itagaki, Mizuguchi, and Sakaguchi just to name a few). Japanese consumers never really got into the Xbox: about 460,000 units have sold in Japan since launch. To put that number in perspective, think about this: the PS2 sold twice that...in the first two days. http://egm.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3141932 -
Bastilla had a sexy voice thanks to Jennifer Hale.

Jedi power levels are certainly a concern in D6. But by the official D6 rules, you have to spend attribute dice on Control, Alter and Sense. And if you only have 1D in each of the three, it will be pretty hard for you to do much with the Force. Furthemore, it is ten times as costly to raise your Control rating as your Blaster rating. I've seen a lot of D6 games run where people ignore these rules because it is more fun to play powerful Jedi characters, though this disrupts balance with non-Jedi characters. I often gave some extra dice to Jedi characters and allowed them to start around 3D/3D/3D for Force skills, which wasn't entirely fair to Non-Jedi, but in turn I put alot more danger and expectations on players of Jedi characters.

Kotor 3: Ideas and Suggestions
EnderAndrew replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
There are only 3 Star Wars RPGs that I know of. Both KOTORs are D20 based, and then there is Star Wars Galaxies, which is an MMO and quite different. LucasArts didn't officially announce KOTOR:2 until production was well underway, and as Obsidian was really rushed (and half-way through production) when people knew they were working on the game, they said they didn't have much time to implement suggestions. At that stage they can't simply add a planet because people want to see it, or greatly change gameplay. Akari did ask for advice on the interface, and mini-games. Some minor suggestions were actually implemented from fan suggestions. -
I figured the comment was a bit tongue-in-cheek. If anyone actually takes to worshipping me in the literal sense, I will probably be torn between mocking them and milking them.

Duke Nukem Forever Being Released
EnderAndrew replied to EnderAndrew's topic in Computer and Console
You still have to be pointed in the correct direction. The PS1 version (which I still own) was tougher because you really had to aim vertically and horizontally in the 3rd person with poor controls and no camera control. I prefer ranged combat to be first person, personally. I loved the first couple of times I played RE and thought a zombie was safely dead, only to discover it gnawing on my leg viciously a few sounds later. -
Darque, What do you write? I don't think we've ever asked you that.

Oddly enough, the Dark Side of Eden website was for a Vampire LARP group with a big goth bent. The artwork and theme were Lillith inspired, especially considering Lillith's role in the World of Darkness.

Duke Nukem Forever Being Released

In general, I have a big problem with games that have a fixed camera like RE and Onimusha, and where the analog stick is relative to where your character is facing as opposed to the direction on the screen. I especially have a problem with it, when the camera jumps places instantly and you find yourself having to adjust. Gradual camera movements are far better than jumping from one stationary camera to the next. I find it fairly hard to move or aim in games like those. Despite my beef with the controls, I still love Onimusha and Resident Evil. -
Retail really isn't fun, but it's a learning experience. I hope they have a really good employee discount to warrant the experience.

I helped create a goth website called Dark Side of Eden. I thought that was a great name.

Kotor 3: Ideas and Suggestions
EnderAndrew replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Someone people have made suggestions that the game is in development, but Obsidian outright said they are not working on it, and as far as they knew, no one was. Then again, this was a few months back. Obsidian is busy working on NWN:2 right now, and their next project is not a sequel, so it's not KOTOR:3. It's possible Bioware or someone else will make KOTOR:3, or that Obsidian will make it later down the line, but that is up to LucasArts. There was an internal team at LucasArts working on KOTOR:3 preproduction, but that team was laid off last September. Since then I haven't heard any credible information on KOTOR:3 other than the Obsidian devs saying they would like to make KOTOR:3 but aren't. And I think discussing the game or potential ideas is fine. I just didn't want you to feverishly wait for dev responses only to not get them. When KOTOR:2 was in production, they read the forums and responded to posts, but not so much anymore. -
Duke Nukem Forever Being Released

REmake captured the creepy feel of the first game and added better graphics. But it is extremely faithful as a remake, and I would have prefered one willing to try and fix problems with the original. The gameplay, setting and story are brilliant. The controls, and bad voice acting still haven't been fixed. I also might have preferred the ability to save the game more often, but maybe the lack of ammo and save opportunities is a part of what makes RE what it is. -
Kotor 3: Ideas and Suggestions
EnderAndrew replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Vossk, welcome to the forums. You seem to be very invested in the game, and getting feedback seems quite important to you. So let me be the bearer of semi-bad news. Obsidian is lumping all the KOTOR:3 suggestions together because inevitably they are going to get them. But I don't believe the development team is currently reading any of these threads, because KOTOR:3 is not currently in development. Obsidian has said they wouldn't mind making KOTOR:3, but as they aren't currently making it, most of these suggestions are being buried. There is some hope that if Obsidian does get hired for KOTOR:3 that they may go through these threads. But for the time being, these suggestions are more for fans to debate amongst themselves what they would like to see.
