Using your pack mule -- I mean housecarl -- as a damage sponge makes combat so much easier in Skyrim. The enemy pounds away at my servant while I shoot them from afar.

I don't remember being this bad at Skyrim before. I can't even wander the wilderness without getting my lunch handed to me by sabre cats or random "named" bandits. Me using a fire magic attack ---> enemy loses a fraction of health Them using a fire magic attack against me ---> half my health goes down per hit Me using a melee weapon attack ---> enemy slowly gets whittled down to 3/4 health after multiple swipes Them using a melee attack against me ---> one strike takes almost half energy, two strikes leaves me near death and running away

In fairness, I blame Obsidian for making the system requirements for Tyranny too high for me to play it.

I ended up doing the unthinkable. In fairness, I'd gotten a Best Buy gift card from a relative and with nothing else to buy at the moment, I got Skyrim.

About to begin the final confrontation with Eredin. Then I can play through the two expansions with my jerk Geralt.

Upgrading my wolf armor is getting tedious, mainly because I keep forgetting you have to have the previous set in your inventory in order to upgrade it. Problem is, I don't like lugging around extra gear when I'm not using it. So after I find the new armor diagrams, I end up having to go back to my inventory stash location to pick it up, then fast-travel to wherever the armorer and blacksmith are that can upgrade it.

Are the graphics that superior to PoE's? I'm curious why there's such a leap in system requirements between the two games.
-
Finally got around to downloading the White Marsh DLCs for PoE. Haven't played it yet. On the PS4, still going through Witcher 3. I'm trying to level up enough to play the two expansions with my second character (this Geralt's more of a heartless bastard than the first time through). I'm at the Isle of Mists quest, so almost there.
-
Hmm. Looks like my PoS can't run it. Guess I'll have to wait another 5 years until I decide to get a new PC and Tyranny is on GoG for around $1.99 at that time.
-
Haha reading this makes me think that I'll probably have to play it on the absolute easiest difficult.

The one thing I don't like, as a completionist, is seeing "mission failed" for a quest even if it works better for what I wanted overall. I wanted to let Keira Metz leave on her own with the Catriona plague research, and let her try her luck with Radovid. But in doing so, I'd "fail" the quest "Brothers in Arms: Velen".
-
That could be trouble for me. I can't recall how much over the minimum I was for PoE. I know it can run smoothly, and I could also run an oldie Witcher 1 smoothly.
-
What are the game specs? Similar/same as PoE?

What have you Americans unleashed upon the rest of the world?!

It hasn't been 10 years since the last Final Fantasy, has it? Or is XV the continuation of the story that began in the game released 10 years ago?

I can't get enough of breaking Yennefer's heart at the end of "The Last Wish" quest. It's like the Simpsons' episode where Bart shows Lisa the slow motion video of Ralph's heart breaking. Except I didn't feel bad like Lisa did.

You can. It goes from "Ridiculously huge" to "Only takes 1/4th of the screen now" You PC folks must have got the shaft. On my PS4, the mini map on default setting only takes up less than a quarter of my big screen TV. I'd assume that means it would be even smaller if I changed the settings to reduce it.
-
I thought you could also make the mini-map smaller, even if you don't want to do away with it completely? I've never tried as I stick with the defaults, but I could have sworn I saw in a tutorial that you can shrink down how much of your screen the mini-map takes up.
-
Can't you turn off the mini map in the W3 option menu? I personally like it, because I suck and like my hand held when I travel. But if it's a distraction, I'm pretty sure you can either turn it off or minimize it.
-
How you interpreted that from my post is beyond me.

Seriously. They either need to let spill exact details of what went on, or they need to just shut up about it and never hint at stuff. These interviews are starting to come across as that annoying kid everyone knew who'd say, "I know a secret, but I'm not going to tell you what it is. But it's big. Really big", and keep bringing it up every time you see them.

I was this close (I'm doing the finger thingy to indicate small distance) to buying Skyrim remastered for the PS4 today. But then I reminded myself that I already own the 360 version, and I wasn't a big fan of much of the storyline anyway. So I'd basically be paying for a game to look prettier. Maybe if it was a game that I enjoyed that was on the older generation consoles (ie. as much as I give it grief, I'd buy a remastered Mass Effect series), but not one that I was only "meh" about the first time through. If I do ever end up getting it, it'll be when it's in the bargain bin and I've got absolutely nothing else to play.

That seems to be a theme in a lot/all BioWare games. Apparently NPCs have conversations with the same person that last months.

I actually thought Kirkwall was pretty good. But I guess that's what happens when the entire game is based around one city. Ironically, Kirkwall's size is what Orlais/Denerim should have been.

I just know I'm going to end up doing something stupid this week like picking up Skyrim remastered for the PS4. Someone needs to teach me self-control when it comes to my finances.
