  1. So you're playing a peaceful, miserly guy? You could have given them your blood. But then I'd lose out on XP. Maybe I'm less a good guy and more an XP-addict.
  2. More Vampyr. So I've killed off three of the four pillars of the community, even though I'm playing a peaceful/good guy play through. Imagine how much carnage I'd leave in my wake if I was actually trying to be a vicious beast.
  3. I'm not sure I like this or not: playing through Vampyr, I came across one of those random citizens need help quests when I came near an area. The problem was I was too low level to take on the skals who were surrounding the person, so I decided to save it for later. I sleep a night and level up to where I can take them on, but by that time the person is dead. Positives: those quests are urgent, so you can't just pick flowers while that person has zombies banging on their door threatening to kill them. It gives the game world a better sense of urgency. Negatives: If you accidentally trigger one when you're way too low in level to take on the bad guys, you either keep dying in combat because 2 hits kills you (at that point) or that NPC dies. I'm not sure I like triggered quests when they're level-dependent in order to successfully complete it.
  4. I need to read the power descriptions better. Also, I think I just screwed up my game. Without going into spoilers for those who haven't played, I made a decision about the pillar of the Docks region that I *though* was both merciful and practical, but instead it has resulted in me now having to kill that pillar (and three NPCs) and that entire region is now going down the crapper because of it. And because the game uses an autosave, I can't go back in time to change that decision unless I literally start over.
  5. don't sleep I can never level up if I don't sleep.
  6. Still playing Vampyr. I think I've stumbled across the first minor nuisance in the game. These people keep getting sick, and I keep having to administer medicine to them. I mean, yes, I'm a doctor. But, come on. I have things to do (like biting people)!
  7. Ended up buying Vampyr. I'm actually enjoying myself, although the combat encounters can get annoying because of how easily you run out of stamina/blood. Also makes it really difficult trying to play as a "good" person since I'm missing out on so much XP from not feeding off all these NPCs.
  8. The story/gameworld never gave me a convincing reason to side with the Legion. Only time I did, it was because I forced myself for no other reason than to see how things play out. I think if there's one complaint I have about that game, it's that. Unless forced to do so, it just makes more logical sense (from an in-game perspective) to side with the NCR or do your own thing with one of the other minor bands.
  9. Ha. Now I'm not sure whether to get it or not. Even the "negative" reviews still mention things that seem somewhat appealing to me. This decision would be a lot easier if it wasn't still full price.
  10. Thanks. It sounds intriguing enough to pick up.
  11. I have, and it's very similar in the sense that it's great story- and atmosphere-wise, but absolutely when it comes to actual combat and gameplay. Ironically, I think it'd be a much better game if they kept the Life Is Strange interactive movie format, because the cutscenes (holy crap the soundtrack!) are really nice. I had fun, but it's a very specific flavor of fun. If you like combat and character improvement, then I don't think you'll like it. Is there any sort of choice and consequence? I know it's not an RPG, but are there like quests or different ways you can do quests? Or is it just a typical action game where you play through the story the developers want you to play through?
  12. Has anyone played Vampyr? Is it anywhere close to Vampire: the Masquerade?
  13. Loved it the first time through (though HATED the stupid boss fights with a passion). I never did pick up the expansion and DLC, largely because I couldn't force myself to play through those boss fights again.
  14. I still wish these release dates weren't so far away. Most of the games I'm excited for after seeing them at E3, I'm going to forget about by the time they're actually released in 2019 or later.
  15. XCOM2 is free on PSN this month. I need to download it since I never did pick it up when it was first released.
  16. I think the motion sickness you experienced driving around in Far Cry had less to do with it being in 1st person and more to do with just how utterly terrible Far Cry's driving/flying mechanics are.
  17. The good news is there are a lot of games that looking interesting at this year's E3. The bad news is that most of them won't be released for another year or so.
  18. Can't wait for Cyberpunk 2077. Now I'm looking forward to the Sony presentations.
  19. Kind of stalled in my playthrough of Beyond Two Souls. I'm not really digging the overall story. I'll get around to finishing it at some point because I hate leaving games unfinished, but I'm in no rush. Might pick up Vampyr.
  20. I'd hope and pray for the former. Playing as Ciri would be disappointing for the aforementioned power/conflicting endings for TW3.
  21. They're finally going to release new info? Seems like half a decade has passed since we last heard anything about it.
  22. Beyond Two Souls really needed to re-think their decisions for which buttons/sticks to use for the QTE. Half the time, it doesn't work the way it's supposed to.
  23. I picked up Beyond Two Souls for free on PSN. Just a couple of "chapters" in; hasn't pulled me in as much as Detroit Become Human did early on. Maybe it picks up.
  24. More Detroit: Become Human. Well, it turns out while you have the choice to *not* get away in "A Stormy Night", I wouldn't recommend it since you basically end one character's entire storyline. I had to go back and replay that chapter when I realized I'd missed like 3 or 4 of that character's future chapters because of my decision.
  25. Just finished my first play through of Detroit Become Human. Gonna play through again to see what happens with the different choices.
