I've been playing more of a "good" guy this time around in Detroit: Become Human (ie. saving lives if I can). I'm looking forward to seeing what playing like a selfish jerk results in.

I can't figure out why I keep missing out on clues in Detroit: Become Human. At the end of each chapter or mission, I'll see a recap of all the paths I missed. Yet in-game, I can't recall any moments I had a chance to actually spot them. Maybe it's more geared toward a replay? I know some stuff seems to be cross-character items that I'll probably only see once I play with a different character, but there's some stuff that I seem to have just flat out missed.

Just picked up Detroit: Become Human today. Downloading the update and will play it tonight.

Finally finished off the final mission for Far Cry 5 since it's been sitting on my shelf unfinished for a few weeks. What an incredibly dumb ending to a dumb main story. Sandbox elements and open world missions = fun Main story (including forcing you into playing it) = horrible

Detroit: Become Human very soon ...

Buggy, you say? I'm shocked.

That got me curious, I will definitely check it out sometime in the future because no matter how hard it is, it will never be as hard as the Pocket Circuit races in Yakuza 0. Wait until Q4 2018 when it will be released on the PS4/Xbox One. That's what I am doing. Meanwhile, I am flirting with the idea of buying PoE: Complete Edition for the PS4, I don't have the dlcs on Steam. That's what I was thinking of doing. I just got tempted when I saw my laptop met the minimum specs. I didn't even think I'd meet those. I still haven't bought the PS4 version of the original PoE because the price where I'm from never seems to drop below "full price", even after it's been out for awhile.

I just noticed my laptop meets the minimum requirements for Deadfire, but not the recommended requirements. Purchase or wait until I upgrade to a better PC?

Do I have to have played the previous God of War games to understand what's going on in the new one?

Chris Avellone: The Final Frontier

Reading this ongoing saga is like reading a high school girl's Facebook page wall after she breaks up with her boyfriend. *Not that I go around reading high school girls' Facebook pages or something -
I lost interest in Far Cry 5. Usually I push through to the end, especially when I'm this close (I just have to confront The Father). I just lost all steam when, every region I went to, they pushed the main story quest on me when my level got high enough, even though I hadn't even had a chance to do half the other side content in the region. Once the "region boss" is defeated, the sidequests lose their impact on the overall story, IMO. Weird design decision, IMO.

They can't take away an ownership stake necessarily, but they can remove him from his position. Ownership is separate from management. Look at what happened to Steve Jobs. All of my information on this comes from the HBO series Silicon Valley. I get all my information about criminal law from Law & Order. We should open up a law firm based on our knowledge of television shows. Sounds like Mr. Avellone needs some representation. -

I thought this was going to be about Chris working on a Star Trek RPG... -
Yeah, I officially dislike how Far Cry 5 forces you into the main story quests whether you like it or not if you level up too much. I lost out on a quest because I had to confront the regional boss, but in doing so the character who gave me the quest died and so apparently I can't find it afterwards. If you're going to have an open world, with a bunch of activities you can do, don't then force the main quest on the player. Or at the very least, make the threshold in which the regional boss forces a fight a much, much higher level so you can actually do these activities without being railroaded.

Now that I've unlocked the ability to bring along two Guns For Hire, it's actually entertaining to walk around with them accompanying me because they banter back and forth with each other.
-
My one complaint is you progress too quickly by completing them. I was forced into a confrontation with the second region boss before I'd even uncovered half the map because I'd done a handful of the quests that bumped me up to level 3 for the region in no time. Kind of ruined a couple of quests since the quest giver died before I'd had a chance to actually complete either of them.
-
One other minor annoyance with Far Cry 5: when you get to a certain "level" in an area, it forces you to face the region boss. The problem with that is it happens way too fast. I haven't even unlocked like half the map or quests in an area and I'm forced to take on the boss all because I happened to rescue some civvies or destroyed some silos.

Just out of curiosity, are you using M+K or a gamepad? PS4, so gamepad.

So remember when I said I hated the driving missions in Far Cry 5? Yeah, those don't even compare to the stupid that is the flying missions. I just finished the "boss fight" one from the first area where you have to shoot down a plane. I couldn't even figure out how to turn the thing to keep track of him. I actually finished the mission, but even now I have no clue how I took down his plane. I think I crashed into it (he strafed me as I pulled up on the joystick) and that was enough to force him to parachute out, because I didn't even get a chance to shoot at him since I could never turn to face him. Did the developers not even bother to do beta testing and ask "are the driving/flying mechanics fun?"?
-
Every main quest mission in Far Cry 5 is essentially just throwing waves of enemies at you. None are particularly difficult on their own, but apparently it's the best way to make it challenging by sending in 100 against you.
-
Fly a plane instead! https://i.imgur.com/Eqg1qP7.gifv Best flying physics ever! That's competent flying compared to how I look when I'm driving around in a car/jeep. If I have to turn the wheel even a little, you pretty much know I'm going to crash into something.
-
I officially hate all the driving missions in Far Cry 5. The driving mechanics are just idiotic. I don't know if they did it to make those parts challenging, but whatever the reason for the design choice, it's arguably the worst driving mechanics in any game I've played.

Dumb companion AI strikes again. Playing more Far Cry 5, I intentionally brought along a recruit who carries a rocket launcher so I'd have someone to handle a]groups of enemies from long range and b]to take out aircraft. Pretty good plan, right? Well, sure, if the recruit would actually frigging shoot! I'll use the manual command to pick out a target (truck full of enemies, airplane, helicopter), she'll acknowledge the command ... then proceed to just stand there. So annoying.
