Are you sure they only used throw? I'm almost positive that I've had lift used against me during a certain boss fight. Matriarch Benzia.

BREAKING NEWS: BIOWARE AND MYTHIC MERGE
Maria Caliban replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
Saying 'BioWare has sold out' suggests they weren't always in the business of making money. As far as I know, the doctors have never worked on any of the games. There have always been, and still are, people who are passionate about making RPGs at Bioware, but the company wasn't founded by two eager young game developers, was it? -
I posted a link to a picture, and the link had the word **** in it. That's the one that sounds like duck. I checked back ~10 hours later and could post. Yeah, they replace all of the seven dirty words with ****, except for the slang term for sex. That one will get you autobanned.

BREAKING NEWS: BIOWARE AND MYTHIC MERGE

You mean Jay Watamaniuk? Serious Watamaniuk is serious. -
Aaannnd... I just got banned from BioWare forums. Curb your enthusiasm Maria!

You're right Gromnir, when you just present a collection of events without any meaning or wider context they tend to look ridiculous. I wonder if this observation ties into what I was saying about the contents of that particular elven legend: Elves have immortality. Elves and humans interact. Elves lose immortality. Elves say humans have something to do with this. But no, that would mean that my response to a post has something to with the post itself. It's much easier to believe that I decided to randomly begin talking about the evils of snakes.

BREAKING NEWS: BIOWARE AND MYTHIC MERGE
Maria Caliban replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
You can criticize the games as much as you want, but you can't criticize the company. To be fair, if you started a thread about how Obsidian sucks on the BioWare boards, that would be closed as well. -
I went to the official site and it's still listed as TBA for the release date.

BREAKING NEWS: BIOWARE AND MYTHIC MERGE

Is David Gaider just the only BioDev people know by name? -
Spent the night Overlording and ended when I picked up my third/last mistress. She's my favorite, but her bonus for the last battle is the least interesting.

You know, I read your post last night but was so tired I didn't even understand what you were saying. Yeah, you target the pod with your reds and destroy it. You don't have to do that part in possession mode, but it works too. There are four lands and you don't get all your minions until the beginning of the third one. I finished Everlight last night and ran around dominating everyone before I quit. I prefer the second mistress' taste in decor. What pleases me about this game is that the puzzles are always a bit different, and that other than basic combat everything is a puzzle. Whenever the situation looks even slightly difficult, I know that all I need to do is study the environment because there's something which will make things much easier. At this point, I think I've only lost about a dozen browns.

I set the wheat on fire and it killed them. I also just finished the 'kill 1000 gnomes' quest. There's no reward. I figured such a blatent grind would get me *something* but it's like those collect X insignia quests in Mass Effect.

It's hard to tell as each area seems to be a bit larger than they were in Overlord. However, I never finished the first Overlord as I started finding it repedative somewhere around the sandworm area.
-
I've got to 'part two' of overlord. This and Prince of Persia has to be my favorite puzzle action game. They've added some grind elements (kill 1,000 gnomes. Kill or enslave 100 townsfolk) but I still find it wildly fun. Somehow sending my minions after a helpless townsperson and then bending them to my evil will never gets boring. It also helps because the more people you have enslaved, the more money and weapons they create for you. I'm also wondering what the consequences of the choices I make are. I let one man become mayor. I didn't let another man sleep with my first mistress. I bent the townspeople to my will instead of burning the tar pits. So I guess it's an action puzzle with a little bit of RPG thrown in as well.

BREAKING NEWS: BIOWARE AND MYTHIC MERGE
Maria Caliban replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
Why in the world would David form his own company? I mean, he's a writer and seems to have no interest in becoming an executive. -
When I played the game on my XBox, I there were several areas where the box just shut down over and over again. It's the only game I've played on a console that does that and it is mighty irritating when you only have save points.
-
Damn! You're fast. I finished the first town last night and you finished the game while I slept. I have no idea how long the game is, though that map looks mighty small. I'd hope there were at least 7 areas as in the first game.

Overlord II. It's as good as the first with better graphics and more ways to play around with your minions. So far, the villian isn't all that interesting.

BREAKING NEWS: BIOWARE AND MYTHIC MERGE
Maria Caliban replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
Have I missed something? People are acting as though BioWare and Mythic merging means BioWare is dead. -
is not how we recall. defy God is how immortality got disrupted... if had stopped with listening to snake chatter... Which boils down to talking to snakes and then eating apples will strip one of immortality. The Dalish have a legend that at one time they were in paradise but when they began to interact with humanity, they lost their immortality and their gods abandoned them. It's part of their mythology; mythology and folklore is full of illogical occurrences. Eat six seeds and you have to stay in the underworld for half the year. Look at your wife at the wrong time and she will transform into a swan and leave you. Kill a serpent and your land will be flooded. The Dalish believe they were once a great people beloved of the god. Now they live under humans. They have a story where contact with humans cause them to lose their immortality. We don

The workout room at my apartments is open again with all new equipment. I popped in after work, spent 30 minutes on the ecliptical, and fifteen lifting wieghts. Absolutely soaked my t-shirt dripped sweat into my eyes. Must remember to bring towel next time. The workout room has been closed since the first of the year while they remodeled and I'm out of shape.
