LOLOLOLLOLOLO !!! That would do it !!! I'd use a black single-bladed lightsaber and would strike at night using all my Dark Side rage that's bottled up inside me Powers: Dominate Mind, Storm, Wave, Choke, etc.....all the nice ones

You're right about the finess feats. They are only apllied when using meele wepons or lightsabers. I posted in another forum my thoughts about this very subject. Here they are: The finess feats shouldn't exist, because in real life and most martial arts it's your DEX that determines how agile and fast you are, thus beeing able to defend and attack with more speed (even when using meele weapons). As for STR, it should only be used to calculate damage or to reduce damage in case we are hit (a guy with a very high STR could have a bonus that allowed him to reduce the damage he suffers). But since the d20 systems doesn't work that way, I believe your idea about the unarmed finess is very good.

Every point of view is valid. And, yes, I'm anti-religion. But even an anti-religion guy belongs to a religion. My religion is anti-religionism " But I really don't think that the "greater good" as some other members said could be used as an excuse for doing certain actions. Hittler used the "greater good" excuse to wipe out millions.

Doesn't Bao-Dur only ask if you want a single or double blade if you already have all the parts? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. I think that's probably a bug. Try getting another color crystal (like green, yellow, blue), since you only have cyan.

I got that conversation the first time through the game as a LS male. I'm not shure if gender is important, but the LS part is (you don't talk about love if you're DS). The option to talk about love appeared without having any influence with HK-47.

My conviction is that death is not a form of punishment, but an escape route to apply punishment. Anyone can kill, that's the easy way. But redeeming is much more difficult. I don't deny that, sometimes, killing is necessary because there is no other way (eg.: the enemy doesn't surrender to you and keeps attacking, even after beeing desarmed). Now, back to topic..... Like ANY cult, the jedi/sith have their views of the world in wich they live and they act according to their convictions. Like ANY cult, if they only see in one direction, they'll be blind to all other sides and extremist behaviour starts to appear. As for: "I hate to draw this comparison but i think an appropriate real world analogy would be: There's a guy with a bomb strapped to his chest and he's threatening to blow himself up in a place like a shopping mall - what you do do? (jack) what do you do?" My answer would have to be: I would try and talk him out of it, and if that didn't work I would shoot him with a tranquilizer As for the actions of the jedi council: they ARE NOT saints and they'll never be.

I have to agree. Last time, I played consular/Sith Lord and.......my god.......if I remember correctly........from level 8 or 9 I never, repeat, NEVER, used the lightsaber. I even made it more realistic and never equiped it. I had to use it only against 2 of the final bosses. But if you choose this road, your wisdom must be very high.

Ah, but who is the Exile? Who is Revan? Do any of us really know who we are? Aren't we all, deep down, lost? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do you want do know......who you are? You...... are all around us, we see you when we pay our taxes, when we look out the window. Unfortunatly, nobody can be told.....who you are. You have to see it. Do you want the blue pill or the red pill??? Personnaly, I prefer the "Kotooorr1_yeeeepeeee c:" command. Try it and if nothing happens, keep trying until it does something other than reply with a phrase. :D

Funny little things you find in the game
atomic replied to tzchar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
What about the line you say when you have converted 1 of your party into a jedi: "You've taken your first step into a larger world". There is another but it can't remember it right now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There is another when you're talking to Kreya about something you felt about another character on your party (Visas, I'm not sure). She replies: "Strange that I have not" She's quoting Palpatine from SW episode VI, when Darth Vader tells him that he felt luke on the shuttle that was going for endor moon. -
Thanks!! What lack of consideration to PC users.

Hey guys. I read the "cheat" for winning swoop races without racing, but it's not working. Is it because it only works on XBOX and I have the PC version????

Both Nihilus and Traya have used Force Storm against some of my chars; as with Malak it may depend on fighting distance whether they prefer Force powers or melee combat. But that is probably beside the point since even the most powerful form of lightning does only pitiful damage against a single enemy, and so there seems to be no reason to use an item like the belt you mentioned. The Thermal Shield Generator is a similar belt which reduces fire damage by 75%, and I used it once to get Mira out of the Pit without levelling her up. After equipping the fire shield belt and some similar items I had her drop a couple plasma grenades on the floor; she took no damage but the rug was burnt badly. :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmmm..... Well, in both games (I'm starting the third tomorrow) the only powers used against me were "choke" and "Drain life", and only by Sion, Nihilus, Atris and Kreya. All the other sith I found always prefer to attack me with lightsabers. As for the "most powerful form of lightning does only pitiful damage against a single enemy" part, well, I have to disagree, because this last game I went consular->Sith lord and I barely used my lightsaber after getting force storm (even against all sith enemies). The battle with Atris was exactly the same both times: She LOVES to Drain me So I drained her back. And there we were......drain.....drain......drain, sucking the life out of each other's bodies. " Hmmm....but I sucked her dry, first. Getting back to the random loot generator. Yes, it's very annoying to open a DC100000000000000 locker and finding a medpack.
-
Well, I agree with almost everything that has been "said" here. The random loot is good, but shouldn't be so random. I've played the game twice and on the second time I got the Master Robe and lightning gloves (never saw one on the first run through). Another thing is, why does the game give us items that have no use whatsoever? What use does an electrical capacitance belt has, if there isn't A SINGLE ENEMY in the whole game using a force power, like force storm, against me???? (at least in KOTOR1 we had malak)

KotOR2:TSL combat mechanics questions
atomic replied to grayswandir's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The defense bonus from Force Armour and Speed does work and it does stack, but since it goes into the 'feats and effects' mod like pretty much everything else (including the defense bonus from the Ossus Keeper Robes, as I just found) it tends to get limited. Lvl 32 Guardian/Weapon Master with miner's outfit in a scuffle with a Sith Lord: 26 = base 10 + armour 1 + dex 1 + class 14 Plus Force Armour and Master Speed, which add 6 and 4 respectively: 36 = base 10 + armour 1 + dex 1 + class 14 + feats&fx 10 Just as expected. The breakdown also matches the value shown in the equipment screen. Adding Nomi's Armband gives an additional +1 against DS opponents which does not get shown in the equipment screen (naturally). Although it gets added to the feats&fx component in the breakdown it is neutral with regard to the limit of 10. That is, with Nomi's Armband equipped the feats&fx mod can be 11. The defense penalties for certain things, like being attacked while flat-footed, are obviously accounted for in the 'feats and effects' mod - most likely after applying the limit. This can explain some of the discrepancies we've seen. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> By the way !!! What does the "class 14" means????? -
Yes, I would be more inclined towards your idea, because I'm not seeing Obsidian or whoever develops KOTOR 3, make you start a game with a character at level 30. The spirit of this type of games is the leveling up part, so it doesn't make any sense to start at any level bigger than 1. Unless they can find a way to "delevel" exile and revan.
-
I really don't believe that KOTOR 3 will be any different from the other 2. What I mean is that you'll have to play a new guy and level him up just like on the other KOTOR's. Now, the story, can and should be explored to the maximum, using appearances from Revan and/or the Exile and some KOTOR 1 and 2 characters, but all of them as NPC's. Here's how I would write it: You are a Padawan, training on Coruscant and are almost ready to face the trials (I hope they show us what the trials are all about in the next SW movie, episode3) to become a jedi knight. Your master (it doesn't matter who he/she is) tells you that there are some events that have been set in motion and needs all available jedi's help (sounds a little criptic? ). Your quest would be to find out what exactly is the mission, before your master talks to you again . This would lead you to the jedi archives, where you would snoop and snoop and snoop to finally discover that this was about Revan/Exile and their "fight to save the galaxy", thus setting their alignment and gender, thru some kind of chat with the librarian. At this point Coruscant would be attacked by a mysterious enemy and your master would tell to equip up and be ready to fight. Yes, this game you should start with a lightsaber. After a long battle, and some easy enemy soldiers (don't forget this is only the beginning) death's you find that every jedi master disappeared and all the jedi knights and padawans were killed, except you. The Ebon Hawk was one of the ships in the fight and is damaged. T3 finds you and asks you (you won't have much choice " ) to come with him. The rest of the story I leave to your imagination. MUAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH comments please.....

KOTOR 3: Sanctioned Good Ideas 1/3
atomic replied to Master Anoon Bondara's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Id say the other reason was to remove the instant party heal the "return to EH" created as well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, I really don't mind NOT having the "return to EB" option. What I would like is a way to move to every area through a transport of some kind like on Telos. If they make the game areas bigger, then this would be a "requirement" for those who don't like to "run around". The only problem I see with this way of moving through the game is that, you may miss an important event if you don't pass through a certain place at a certain time. Any suggestions? -
KoToR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
atomic replied to hattifnatt's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Hi all you KOTOR fans. This is my first time writting in a forum, so please, bear with me. =) Improvements list: - Better character design at the beggining (like in Jedi Knight, the face, eyes, hair, colors, race, etc....) - The finess feats shouldn't exist. The dexterity modifier should ALWAYS be the one added to calculate hits, either with melee or ranged weapons. Since I think this point is going to cause much debate, I'll try to explain why I think that addind the strength modifier (in melee) is a mistake. Example: A guy has 4 times my strength. I have 4 times the dexterity he has with a blade. If we fight unarmed, his strength will matter, yes, BUT, if we fight with blades I'll cut him open even before he has a chance to use his superior strenght in his blows. - Much more upgradable Jedi robes - different saber hilts - much more color crystals (gray metal, brown, dark blue, white, black) - different fighting moves when using different styles - Possibility of constructing lightsabers, sowrds, vibroblades, rifles - There should be a toggle option allowing us to show or hide on the screen all the "buff" powers that are afecting the character at that moment (wether he's in a fight or not) - Possibility of seeing the influence VALUE the main character has with the others - Possibility of buying our swoop bike and it's upgrades - Add more wildcards to Pazzak - Possibility of constructing belts that have special abilities (like a belt that makes you immune to electrical, or fire, or cold or sonic) Well, this is all I can remember for now. Please comment on this. =)
