Never played Gothic 1, but Gothic 2 was meh. Some people liked it but I found it lacking. No real character creation options, poor voice acting, and awkward controls basically killed the game for me. I didn't play it that long because I just couldn't get into it because of these issues. Who knows, you might like it. They both are probably in the bargin bin nowadays so it shouldn't cost much in case you do want to give them a try.

I doubt it. In the weaken and disorganized state Iraq is in both Iran and Turkey would more than likely move in and try to take over. Add in the factions that will vie for control by whatever means they have available will tear the country apart even moreso.
