So your problem was that they were occupied/'liberated' by the 2 factions? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> no... during the breifings it would show the world map and isolate a part of it... only problem was when it brought the isolated part up so you had more detail it'd change shape slightly <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's becouse the worlds is not flat, but the nearer continental maps were.

Not war, a character in the war. Only one man/women.

There were no fully made background yet, no story for all of the world. That changed later. They didn't let other parts then Europe and Africa in the game, but there was a cut-scene with the whole world map in-game.

RPG would work, but main char should be a civilian at begin, or some low ranking soldier. Best timeframe would be the Tiberian Dawn era for it.
