This is where I think Ilum makes a better alternative to Hoth. Since the planet really bares little signifance to SW history beyond the movies.

I don't mind seeing some older worlds as long as they don't look exactly the same. Of course I'm assuming that K3 will run on a new engine, new visuals new possibilites the works. I'm hoping that we visit some of the worlds that were cut from the previous games. The two most notable ones are - ----- Sleheyron - A volcanic world controlled by the Hutts (A good substitue to anyone wanting Mustafar). It was supposed to be one of the most industrialized worlds in the galaxy with gas refineries, landing bays, slave pens all over the place. It was even rumored to have a gladiator arena (I really miss fighting for cash) run by 'Hutt Lords'. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sleheyron http://rpgvault.ign.com/articles/454/454429p1.html ----- M4-78 - Droids baby Droids. It was cut from K2. I think it's still a point of interest however. It could offer alot for any droids in the player's party. Perhaps we can actually put some canon history onto the planet as well. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/M4-78 ----- Ilum - The opposite to Tatoonie. An icy, snow world long used by the Jedi for crystals. It's native species the gorgodons would provide an interesting foe (well not really, but it would be cool to see in game). Obviously this world would provide a ton of crystals for the player to use in lightsaber construction (instead of going to the Dantoonie caves again, I hate Kinraths). Besides that it could offer for some really mystic looking environments for the artists. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Ilum http://www.starwars.com/databank/location/ilum/index.html ----- Coruscant - This should serve as the 'New York' of the game. It would be like Taris with the multiple layers and all, but it would provide more in terms of what you could do with the story. Perhaps we can meet the current Supreme Chancellor or perhaps check out a new growing Jedi Order. Not only that but it's a really popular world. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Coruscant http://www.starwars.com/databank/location/coruscant/?id=eu ----- Alderaan - This is London or Paris compared to New York. Alot of fancy architecture, wealthy families etc. Sort of similar to Onderon with all this 'royality' and such. Not only that but it's barely seen. You only get glimpses or mentions of it at most. But the place looks beutiful. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Alderaan http://www.starwars.com/databank/location/alderaan/?id=eu ----- Korriban - I know we've seen it before, but for story purposes I think it might make a return. Perhaps a remant Sith faction has established the world as a base of operations. And if the 'True Sith' are to return they may be interested in the world. If the story allows you to choose between Jedi and Sith academies, then Korriban might end up being the best choice as many Sith probably know of it's location. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Korriban That's all I can think of at any rate

Multiplayer would be interesting. Though it should not be a persistent world or anything similar to an MMO. Something like NWN? Although I've personally never played the game I have a fair idea on how it's multiplayer functions. Could that concept be applied to KotOR? Would be interesting and would definatly extend the life of the product as well as crank up a variety of reviews. If it worked really well, then I think it would be beneficial. However I'd prefer if most of the time and resources was focused on creating an excellent storyline, a solid game engine, new and interesting gameplay mechanics etc. I would also like to see the game become a little more mod friendly as well, since the only thing keeping me playing K1 and K2 is downloading user created content to add or alter the game experience.

Well I'm not saying they couldn't be decendants of Kreesh. But here's another reason why they may have not attacked yet. Perhaps there are still a few more things they want 'taken care of' before launching an invasion (As in the complete and utter destruction of any force uers). Even with the galaxy at it's weak state, Jedi and such known to save the galaxy despite being outmatched. Well you have remember, military genius and espionage are two different fields. Revan was a tactician of fleets, (s)he used strategy to defeat his/her enemies. When it comes to espionage you need to understand the enemies culture. You need to be capable of adapting to a new situation at a moment's notice. Over a thousand years Sith tradition probably changed in the known galaxy. However Kreesh may still hold true to some of the most anicent rituals and such. I doubt Revan may know all of this, and could easily offend one of the older Sith by not knowing how to bow properly or something along those lines. Not only that but in Revan's case it would best to start out at the lowest ranks. Revan can't simply meet these True Sith for the first time and say "Hey, where's your boss I need to kill him." Revan would then draw too much attention to him/herself which would make it alot easier to expose Revan as an imposter if he/she made a mistake. Other than that we don't know just how powerful these 'True Sith' really are. It would be a big mistake to assume that Revan is more powerful than the 'True Sith', especially their leader. Revan would have no idea on how powerful these True Sith may be. If Trayus Academy, a place that allowed force users to 'feed' on the force was simlpy an artifact of their ancient empire, then what other strange things can these True Sith do with the force? Yes I do agree.
-
Here are some things you have to consider with the whole True Sith thing. If these are the Sith we know then there's no way they could have lasted for over a thousand years without killing each other for power. There would have to be a change in their tradition in order to sustain themselves. Unless of course the old Sith Lord managed to keep himself alive (Sion proves that near-immortality is quite possible with the Dark Side) and maintained dominance over the Sith Empire. Also wasn't T3 supposed to come back to known space only if something happened to Revan? If so this further suggests Revan may have died in the Unknown Regions. My opinion is that Revan may have searched for a weakness to the True Sith, a weapon. It's sort of far-fetched (IMO) for Revan to infiltrate the True Sith (We don't even know exactly how they look) and systematically turn one side against the other. Revan doesn't have the resources or the manpower to do all of that. That would seem logical seeing as how evidence suggests that Revan's original plan was to replace the Republic with a stronger, much more aggresive civilization to match the True Sith. But that plan failed miserably. Now perhaps the Exile may have continued Revan's search and put even more puzzle pieces together to point towards this weapon or weakness. Perhaps the Ebon Hawk and T3 will return to known space with this information to combat the True Sith (Seeing as how the Galaxy is at it's weakest state). However a few more puzzle pieces remain that your new PC will have to uncover throughout the story.

I agree. I dislike the fact that your character in K1 and K2 are affiliated with the Republic or Jedi from the start. Your new character should not associate with any faction at the start, instead in the early game depending on the character's progression will determine whether or not they follow the Sith, Jedi, Republic, Exchange, or goes off alone as a renegade or rogue.

KotoR 3: Ideas, Suggestions, Discussion

Well the way I see it, if there's a potential K3 in development it better have a decent engine. Anyone see the Demo on Bioware's Mass Effect? -

True. But setting Revan to DS and LS are generic assumptions however. Bastila's appearence is a contridiction of that, but they assume that regardless of your Revan's alignment that the romance between your character and hers is strong enough to prevent you from trying to kill her. However Dustil has little to no connection with your character personally. Besides that Dustil didn't play a major role in game either (only in Carth's story). When you look at it that way the chances of Dustil appearing are slim (I'd admit it would be nice, but I'm a realist). -
Don't forget one of the Exiles comrades at Onderon's cantina speaks of Dagory Minor. That's another confirmed battle. But you make a good point. Both Revan and the Exile's participation the war is vague at best. Perhaps it is best left for other EU stories to explain. Hell we don't even know what Carth did in the Mandalorian Wars.

I doubt it. You'd have to set Revan's actions during the Jedi Civil War to the light side. Otherwise a DS Revan should technically never see Dustil (Or you can think of some sci-fi reason why Dustil wasn't killed). Other than that the point is Dustil is capable of being killed so that warrants his possible appearence in K3 to be slim. That's one of the reasons why you might not see characters like Juhani, Jolee, Misson and other NPCs from K1. -
Who is the best sith lord?

Except Nihilus doesn't have much of a face... -
Who is the best sith lord?
Terranova replied to darth ragnos's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Fanboy? No what I said is pretty much the truth. The Exile was a wound in the force, as the masters described him/her to be "empty". When Darth Nihilus attempts to feed on the Exile, Nihilus is weakened. -

This really isn't a fair pole. Everyone here gets to make Revan whatever they want in terms of personality, looks, and character. Nihilus would probably defeat Revan anyhow. Before Revan could draw his/her lightsaber Nihilus would simply eat him/her (litteraly). Come on now, Nihilus eats whole worlds for dinner. -
The Bith & Selkath and those damn Sand People. The Bith look awful, and they need to play a different song in the cantina's for once my god. The Selkath sound like they've been smoking too much. Those Primitive Sand People.... Well let's just say I wasn't very patient with them back in K1. Wait you know what. That alien that looks like a camel with a lizard on it's back, forgot what they call themselves. But one can be found in Javyar's cantina, and the other as a merchant on Tatoonie. Whatever they are... they're awful.

worse planet in both kotor1 and kotor2
Terranova replied to Scarnet's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I second that. The theme song was almost depressing, the Selkath voices make me sick after a while, and the constant "Now leaving Ahto City, Cameras off/on" voice was plain annoying. -
From Bao-Dur's perspective, yes it may have been an act of desperation. But it was all cleverly masterminded by Revan. Check the chronicles on TSL's official site (Under the game info tab). Part IX. http://www.lucasarts.com/games/swkotor_sit...indexLight.html On another note, Revan was the type of general who saw certain people and things "expendable". The chronicles state that Revan was falling to the Dark Side way before Malachor V. It's also noted that Revan began to mirror the Mandalorians in their tactics. Something Canderous says during the game.

I noticed Physis were in the engine. That's great. Some of that was hilarious too... like how the Clone troopers was holding on for dear life onto the beam.
-
We don't really. I base that statement on the fact that Revan is known for being the "tactician". It was always Malak that people refer to as being the one to rush head first into combat. Revan was the mastermind behind the war. Also I might not have been clear enough, but what I meant by the Exile not playing a major tactical role in the Mandalorian Wars was the fact the the Exile wasn't back there coming up with the next big strategy. Meaning that the Exile probably never came up with the ideas, (s)he just led a large unit through several of the war's campaigns. Like the Clone Wars many Jedi led units (Such as Obi-Wan's 3rd Army) that they commanded through various campaigns. Even Anakin commanded a unit himself, it doesn't mean however that they were the ones creating strategies that would win the war. On why Revan would have used the MSG. The Republic fleet he had placed at Malachor V consisted of Jedi and Republic personnal that held questionable loyalties to him. After all his intentions were not to return to the Republic after the war. Not only that but he used that fleet as bait to lure the remaining Mandalorians there. The MSG was activated and the war was won. Thats probably not the first time Revan used similar strategies as well. Revan was the kind of commander who would have been willing to sacrifice innocent civilians in order to achieve a swift victory.
-
What are you talking about? Revan commanded the Exile to use the Mass Shadow Generator not only ending the war, but killing the most loyal of Republic soldiers who would have never defected to Revan's cause in the first place. For the most part... other than the Exile's order to activate the MSG we don't know much of his/her role in the war, or what (s)he did. Not only that, but the Exile unlike Revan most likely fought on front lines (I base this on the visons of the Exile's past and conversations during the game). So in a sense we don't know if the Exile played any major tactical role besides commanding a unit. Like many Jedi Generals all the Exile might have done is simply led his/her army into battle.
-
Wait what is that supposed to mean? DBZ is too "childish" for older people to enjoy? What makes fan-fiction something only "immature" people participate in? You do know that there are people who believe that games are for children, yet we are all sitting here on a message board based on video games.

I honestly don't care. Besides it sounds a bit sexist to be morally opposed at having a female Exile canonized. If you found the male journey to be more interesting, that's soley a matter of opinion. The topic starter also claimed females don't look right as generals. Lets see here... Bastila commanded the Endar Spire. Aayla Secura was a general during the Clone Wars. You have Admiral Dodonna back in the original K1. I could go on but there are many, many instances where females were generals or higher ranks. Besides canon is simply reference for writers. It's not like it's going to have a major impact on your personal story unless you were looking to create a story in the EU.

GL? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think that means George Lucas.

KotoR 3: Ideas, Suggestions, Discussion
Terranova replied to LadyCrimson's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
This is fake. The blog is by an unoffical member who apparently got excited by seeing a very old rumor. I've seen this before. Notice at the top right (Speculation for now). http://www.killermovies.com/forums/archive...on-for-now.html Keep in mind too that Bioware's resources are focused on Mass Effect, Jade Empire for the PC and a whole new RPG setting called "Dragon Age". -
The Endar Spire. Completely takes away from any immersion whatsoever. There are way better tutorials than having someone shouting in the middle of battle "PRESS THE RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON TO USE YOUR MEDPAC!". Other than that. Excellent story for K1. K2. It's just that stretch from the Ravenger to Trayus Academy. Nihilus and Sion had little backstory to them in order to make it a personal motivation to put an end to them. And there's very little dialogue sequences that relfect any importance on the story other than that with Kreia.

True. We need more people like you, it seems not enough people out there understand how difficult it is to bring back Revan and the Exile for KOTOR III. However, I do have an idea on how to bring back Revan and the Exile in KOTOR III. No they wouldn't be main characters, yes, you'd be able to select their genders and alignments and no, you won't have to worry about choosing their appearences, classes, etc... Revan would appear in his/her mask pre KOTOR look and the Exile would appear with the Darth Nihilus look. Now, there are plot reasons why no matter what they would be like this, and I'm sure if I properly explained it, then anyone who originally disapproves of my opinion would come to a better understanding of everything. Yes, it is based on Jediphile's 'civil war' idea but it isn't excatly the same as his idea, it builds and expands on it. If anyone wants to hear my theory/idea (based on Jediphile's 'civil war') idea, then feel free to PM me. Revan and the Exile can appear in KOTOR III, it is possible, and if you ask me, I think if Obsidian makes KOTOR III, Revan and the Exile will wind up as DS in KOTOR III anyway, even if they were LS. At first most people who's Revan and/or Exile were LS in the previous KOTOR's would say "**** off! My Revan and/or Exile were LS in K1/K2, why the hell are they DS again? That's bullcrap!" However, when the 'civil war' idea is explained, you can understand why Revan and the Exile are DS no matter what, think of there fall as more of a necessary sacrifice, but it would come at a cost, as the dark-side would eventually consume them. If you set Revan and/or the Exile as LS in KOTOR III, then they would be 'redeemable', if you set Revan and/or the Exile as DS in KOTOR III, then they would not be 'redeemable'.' The 'civil war' idea explains why Revan went alone into the unknown regions (not just to bring unnecessary harm to his/her companions), it explains what Revan has been doing in the unknown regions all this time, it explains why Revan locked the navicomputer and was so secretive about where he/she went and what he/she was doing, and last of all, it explains why the 'True Sith' did not attack the Republic/Jedi or Revan's Sith Armada after the events of KOTOR when they were clearly in a weak, vulnerable state. So like I've said, for more details, feel free to PM me, and I'll tell anyone who is interested in hearing about this 'civil war' idea. One last thing, remember what Kreia said about the difference between a fall and a sacrifice and Revan recognizing this, but anyway, this is all for a LS Revan/LS Exile, if Revan and/or the Exile are both DS, then they don't have to worry about turning, they are already evil Sith Lords who can have their mask looks as I've mentioned before... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This idea is plausable. I'm just tired of seeing people constantly asking for "Revan should be in our party!" or "We should play the Exile again". Even what sounds like a simple solution to it all actually contridicts the basic elements of role-playing games. The idea of "masking" the previous playable characters works, as proven with K2. However I can't see using this concept and providing Revan and/or the Exile with a strong role. In Knights of the Old Republic 2 Revan simply appeared to the Exile in a vison. Did not speak, did not reveal any major story implications. So if they did come back this way, presumably as the story's villans, then they might end up playing like Darth Nihilus. And at least to my opinion, Nihilus was flash with no substance. Which supports my arguement about why neither should appear in flesh and blood.
