  1. Except for Motta the Hutt of course! The mind trick is only supposed to work on the weak willed. I wouldn't expect a crime lord like Jabba to be weak willed. Watto's species might be immume to the mind trick because thier brains are very alien. Hutts may be alien enough to give them some resistance, but not enough for full immunity. I'd rather go with the "weakminded" theory( Wow, look mum, I'm a nerd ) Watto might have been a screwup in the technical department but he might have had some good bargainin skills and strong will to the point that simple "force persuasion" didn't work for him. If a whole race is force resistant wouldn't the jedi council know about it since it is an important deal for them to know? As Shdy put it, this is yet more discontinuity in the SW universe. Isn't the current EU standing is that Hutts are resistant, whilst Toydarians are immune, or somesuch?
  2. If you feel the necesssity to apologize for your Freudian slip, I won't stop you. :D
  3. "Don't ask, don't tell." ^_^
  4. The funny thing is that there are like 3 separate discussions going on in this same thread. ^_^
  5. Then why do they see the earth from the moon or orbit. Why do we see stars? There is light in space. Space may be a vacuum but its packed full of all kinds of things like radio waves and photons. The Shadster's right. Now if you'd asked "why can we hear the laser shots...", that would be a different story.
  6. Nice to see some real "roleplaying" there, Sever.
  7. Except for Motta the Hutt of course!
  8. How about a Master apprentice? Cheers!
  9. Glad that you agree with me there. As for 'severity', I believe you are misunderstanding me Maria. You are stating the upper limit of tolerance for the brain. That is not what I am referring to. I am disputing: - "To a certain degree, all experiences are universal because there are only a finite number of human emotions and sensations. " E.g Within the limits of experimental error, a hypothetical ammount of chemical fluid secreted could measure 178
  10. Read my post on the last page. I explained it.
  11. Wrong. The number of human emotions one can simultaneously experience is non-mutually exclusive. In addition, the degree of severity one can experience each emotion is a continuous variable, not discrete.
  12. That's what we're talking about, mate.
  13. And here I thought that choco chips weren't perfected until they were ingested.
  14. Observation: It seems that we have succeeded in shifting the focus of debate from bigotry to philosophy. B)
  15. That would very likely be 'natural selection', ceteris paribus. What I am referring to would be one of your earlier examples of human intervention. E.g. 'Murder' Take the 9/11 terrorist attacks for example. Even though we cannot deny the existence of such an abhorrent event existing within the extremities of our universe, does it still qualify as a 'naturally occurring' event?
  16. Are you sure you're not equating the laws of nature with the laws of the universe? Hypothetical: If the sole reason a certain event occurs, is due to third-party 'unnatural' human intevention, is it still 'natural' even though the event exists within the confines of our universe?
  17. Are you you unequivocally certain they are 'natural'? Those tendencies could just as likely be hard-wired into our genetic makeup, as they could be learned & adapted through upbringing and our environment.
  18. I use the Keanu Reeves guy as Revan. ^_^
  19. Ah...great song, great album, good times...
  20. Arrgh! Party AI & party combat tactical management was terrible in KotOR! Example: Mission & Carth are in my party. We encounter a group of foes & mines impede our path. The game goes into auto-pause. I select Mission to disable the mine. I stack Carth's queue with Power Blasts intending for him to stay back. My PC decides to melee. But this is KotOR after all, meaning nothing goes to plan. Carth decides to run through the 'deadly plasma mine' while Mission is disabling it, thus knocking her out, and then proceeds to start blasting right in the faces of the enemy cluster. Naturally, due to the +10 melee on range penalty he suffers to *each* enemy, he too gets knocked unconscious, hence leaving my PC to clean up the mess. <_<

  22. 'It's' a Transexual 'female'. A possible match for Atton Rand? <shudders> Jenny Rand! P.S. It would crack me up if there was some sort of easter egg with a character who was Atton's wife named Jenny in it! Doesn't even have to be alive, he could be a widower, but you pick up one of his journals or something, and his 'wife' Jenny is metioned in an entry! ROFLMFAO!!! Yeah. Kinda like the mysticism in those Cassus Fett datatpads: Jenny Rand - Is she dead...or is it alive? *Reveals twist/shocker that Atton Rand really is Jenny Rand*
  23. Yeah, we want rideable flying manta rays!
