It's a mess indeed. But the funny bit is that you can't really prove them wrong. Sure, they made up some random stuff about the nature of existence, but go ahead and try to prove them wrong using that very pragmatism with which you see everything else through. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> all facts are based on a first assumption.

"I'd rather give my cash to George Lucas. At last he can make fun movies and games like KOTOR or Tie Fighter instead of threatening me with hell or whatever else." A agree my meaning of life is to be happy!

If evolution is right then what they have been following all their life is the biggest hoax in thw world. interesting. maybe its all about the ruling majority. so that moajority can place their set ethics in law, thats why they fight so hard. But because of machevilli, western goverments haven't been dominated by secular influence. or maybe... they fear evolution... because they fear death. no god no salvation no heaven. interesting... any comments on the current thoughts??? Should we fear death? subjective... I don't, i jsut want to make an impression while im alive.

i was brought up to suppose to be a Lutheran, i waited to see truth before i left but i never found anything rational in it. but i still see the pope as a great man trying to make the world a better place. he was the first pope to pray in a synagogue. he went to Iraq to give saddam advice and to make a point. he is against war. you can't prove religon is false so you really can't knock it. just because someones set of morals are different, doesn't mean either of your set of ethics is wrong. im glad alot ofyou see that World peace!

That's pretty close. There's a philosophy called Social Darwinism that's bang on the money, though. And there were some people who practised it. Very popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Ran along the lines of "I'm rich because I'm more effective, and you're poor because you're being weeded out." One of many philosophies that helped the well-off justify their position. See also Ayn Rand, another favorite for the wealthy and well-connected. Who knew you needed to much philosophical support for being a rich person? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Neitzche mainstreamed it. "The strong should impose their will on the weak" and slave master morality. pretty disturbing stuff, hitler Followed it in Mein Kompf(my struggle if you dont speak germen). Good pointing this out.

Are you kidding? Science is based on logic, evidence and what we can perceive. Scientology is based on nothing whatsoever (possibly drug-induced fantasies). Ron Hubbard (the founder) is a grade A moron. If you've ever played Fallout 2, I'm quite sure that the "Hubbology" religion you can find there is a jab at scientology, which would explain why my trigger finger itches so badly whenever I go see them. I remember we were supposed to do a project in school a long time ago about religions cults, and my group got scientology. Unfortunately, I don't remember much, but I do remember I started out knowing nothing about it, started thinking that it didn't sound so bad, but eventually came out with a burning hatred for Mr. Hubbard. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> oddly enough scientology is DIFFERENT then science. theres also the beleif of Sciencetism which means the belief that science can prove everything. it hasnt yet though. for an example it can't explain how accupuncture works, but only that it has the benefits.

Hmm what reliogion do you think most resembles the sith. theres a of existentialism that says that nothing matters, what we do has no effect everything that happens happens and good and bad doesnt matter so do whatever you want. thats not the side i personally beleive by the way. im a humanist.

Has anyone here read the book Ender's Game? its a science Fiction series, i recommend it to any star wars fan.
-
What is zen buddism anyway? and how is it realted to the jedi? and whats the dif between science and scientology?
-
Not really, you really cant prove any religion, not even science. My quote, "true knowledge is knwing that you know nothing" means that everything is based on a first assumption. why does the sun go up? try to prove it and ill do my best to prove to you what is the truth. its an endless debate. someone can say because of the tibetan monks and you can't even disprove it. and they prove it every morning.

Why did these fascist moderators move this poll ! haha im just kidding with you...

The whole medicholerine beleif reminds me of the string theory. the unification theory. that everything is made of one thing. string theory is of tiny tiny strings that make up EVERYthing in our universe even the empty spaces. they vibrate, and together they play like an orchestra. after the big bang they clustered and formed the planets and the bigger the more gravity. thats a vague discription.
