Altruism may not be the reason to do it, it maybe guilt and empathy that drive one to do this. This could give purpose to some lives. Speaking as a hedonist using utilitarianism, looking as in as a spectator, it would be the greater good/pleasure/tranquility for the greatest amount of people, if i sacrificed myself for this cause. I would be a martyr/hero which would be another reason to do it. It would be my responsibility some would say.

Interesting, you take volume over taste... atleast when it comes to soda. To indulge in to larger consumptuos pleasure vs a personal intellectual pleasure is the lower nature speaking to me. But lets say it is the wine, then you are enjoying a higher level of pleasure. The tough part is, is sorting out what are your specific intellectual pleasures, we can listen to music but so can animals, but how do we know we are listening to them through intellectual ears? ok im rambling.... I'm going to leave now.

But any imbecile can take pleasure in primitive pleasures, I'm going to have to say some pleasures are better then others. The intellectual pleasures are top contenders to me. For instance, the pleasure of finding joy in others being happy is a great quality. Ever see elders curmudgeonly gripe about the world over and over? That might be because they are past their prime and are unable to take pleasure in some of the primitive pleasures(sex) so they tend to gripe more since they are low on their choices of pleasures out there. They haven't found a way to find joy through others.

I agree, everything we do is self interested. A good example of healthy selfishness. You do these good things because you have an idea of how others feel, and by doing goods things it helps your conscious feel better thus making you happy, self interested happiness that works for everyone. Your a good guy hurlshot.

There is no such thing as altruism ( IMO) because man is self intrested in everything he does. But there is room for compassion still with empathy, and that may leads to guilt sometimes, which may lead the man to do what is right because he doesn't wan't to feel guilt, ultimatly we want to be happy.

How would this game run on a 2.4 pentiumC 478 pin with a gig of 3200 400mhz ram and a Geforece 6800GT BFG OC? Could i get most of the bells and whistles to run while running a steady framerate or is this game for uber machines like FEAR?

What like winning the lottery twice in a row? I guess luck isn't even a part of superstition, because the subject has the potential to win 2 lottery's in a row(as long as he buys a ticket for each one). Winning it twice would go against the odds heavily, but it is possible. Just like this world being here with us on it, talking on a forum in the middle of a void. Unlikley by chance to be at this moment but chanes are, it had to happen sometimes, right? ****, I am lucky, i won the galactic lottery! Praise happy bunny jesus! (w00t)
