  1. (quote from GhostOfAnakin) Could make for some interesting dialogue responses though. Alien: "[says a bunch of stuff you can't understand because subtitles are off]" Exile: "Yes, I agree to this deal." Kreia: "You fool! You just sold me to that Jawa!" Hanharr: "Rrrraaaaaarrrgh!!!" T3-M4: "Beep dweet! Dooooooooooooo!" Random Mandalorian girl: "Ki pu na! Bo na na ki chu!" Exile: [facing the computer monitor] "Turn back on those damn subtitles will ya!" (end quote) LOL Hahahahahah that's great
  2. I do despise Malachor. I preferred the Star Forge (and even that I found annoying, what with the endless swarms of Dark Jedi and all...), because at least the Star Forge was: a) Star Warsy, had a real Star Wars feeling about it and fit with the plot a lot better (I know Malachor V fitted as well, but less... The transition is just brutal, they just throw you into half a game at the end of KotOR2). b)Had other Characters from the party and otherwise, a lot of interaction, it felt alive, and the hacking and slashing didn't seem as random and pointless as it did on Malachor. c) Had a great plot, dialogue, etc, and was really exciting. The thought I can remember most running through my mind all the way through Malachor V is "WTF???". None of that in the Star Forge. Seriously, apart from maybe Big Rigs (if you don't know what I'm talking about, check it out), I don't think I've ever played an end level more worthy of a "WTF?" than KotOR2's.
  3. I felt KotOR's story was more involved, I cared a lot more about the characters, and it always went uphill, not downhill. KotOR 2 was great in its own way, but still I thought the plot could get boring at times (it wasn't nearly as exciting and rip-roaring adventure feel as KotOR... KotOR2 felt static also if you know what I mean..), the environments seemed badly made and un-star-warsy (the story also seemed kinda far-fetched, even for Star Wars) to me, and of course the plot had gaps bigger than a fat woman's a... You get the picture. Sure, KotOR2 was complex, blurred the lines between the light and dark sides of the Force, and that's great, I like it for that. Thing is, in doing that, and it wanting to present a 'dark and ominous' storyline, I think it kinda lost track of what Star Wars is all about. And that is part of why I like KotOR better. (Also remember that part in KotOR near the end when (spoilers for KotOR) This works better for spoilers, not? -Battlewookiee
  4. Yeah, whatever. I hear that Verhoeven just wanted to ridicule Heinlein's work, above everything else.
  5. No, that's when he realized that the scene in which Denise Richards has her teat massaged had been cut out.
  6. Unimpressive graphics, mild control lag (not as bad as the unpatched version of DX2 though), and the demo map isn't too good either. The game captures the atmosphere of the movie well, so it's not completely worthless. Only a great co-op mode can save this game from mediocrity, I'm afraid.
  7. Man this is totally not what i had in mind when I started the topic.
  8. Huh? Now you can read minds too? Impressive. But be mindful that sniffing glue doesn't give you the same powers as using melange spice. Also: stop spamming my thread.
  9. What about those of us who do know how good we have it? I may be going out on a limb here, but I'd venture to say I've spent more time abroad, and in more places, than anybody else on these boards, oftentimes obliged to pay for it all by my lonesome. I'm as big a fan of irony as anyone else, but it gets tiring to hear that I have no idea what I'm talking about, that I hate America and everyone in it, I'm one step away from a Palestinian suicide bomber, etc. etc. etc. I've played in the sandbox before, but I'm just not one of those guys who waves flags and declares American supremacy all the time. I remember my mother-in-law was visiting (she's Russian) and we were at a gas station, and there was some hillbilly truck with all the American flags and "Support Our Troops!" crap all over the back, and she was asking about it. She honestly didn't get it; her exact words were, "What, does he need a constant reminder of what country he's in?" Russians are intensely nationalistic, believe me, but they and a lot of other countries just don't get all the flag-waving that we do. They see it as arrogance, and I tend to agree. "My country is always right," and "My country, right or wrong," are just as foolish as, "America is always wrong." Take pride in your country, by all means, but do it quietly. I assume that most people who work in an office setting respect the guy who always gets his crap done and never makes a big deal about it; the guy who you never notice and yet always seems to be on top of his game. On the other hand, the office braggart who's always crowing about his accomplishments and never admitting his mistakes is going to be disliked no matter how effective he is - he's going to be disagreed with even if he happens to be right some of the time. Which one of those gentlemen most closely resembles the American image abroad, hmm? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I like flags. They make me feel all warm and fuzzy. ...And russians have always been to apathetic for that, even during their comradeship period. End of Thread.
  10. In fact the article says that hormones have been proven a health hazard by 40 years of evidence. Pay attention.
  11. The best beef in the world is Argentinian, bar none.
  12. that 1800+ is killing him, his cpu wont be able to carry enough instructions out to keep up with his video card. w/o a doubt, that cpu is bottlenecking his system. i have a 9800 pro 128mb r350 flashed to an XT, and I get like 24fps avg. (using fraps) with everything maxed out (1280x1024 res).
  13. just got the game. i updated it. im on the Lv on telos. were iv incounterd the jedi women in whight and talked. she says i can leave but the game wont let me. 2 of my party " the guy you meet in the first Lv and the old lady" memebers are not in the force field cages were thay should be but standing at the enternce of the telos under ground. the gfuy with the repulser arm is asleep in a cage and wont wake up. the astromec looking bot is in a cage in another room. when i try to talk to the old lady she says nothing. the guy gives me a menue. it says something about fighting the madiens and the other says contenue the talk with what ever the jedi womens name is. i cant find any consoles to turn off the cages and when i try to bord the hawk it says i must gather my party memebers. does any one know how to progress farther in the game?

  19. Some great ideas here, actually. I'm beginning to think Yavin 4 would really be a great place to visit. Anyway the problem with Coruscant, as great an idea as it might be to include it in KotOR 3, is that it's so central and important etc to the Star Wars universe, that it would really be disastrous if they messed it up. Know what I mean? I think it would be best if Coruscant DID feature in KotOR 3, but you only get to explore the Jedi Temple or the Senate or some 'small' part like that. Oh, and I'm sticking to my guns concerning Tatooine... Although I've loosened my grip: Just a small appearance of the planet I think would be best. Not too small though. A 'cameo', like someone said. I really think it's crucial for this game to have a real good ol' Star Wars feel to it. Anyway I hope they announce KotOR 3 as being officially in development soon... I know it's still not a certainty that it's going to happen at all, but that's what they said about KotOR 2 (in fact, most said there wasn't going to be a sequel at all), so..
  20. Excellent. This certainly helps with most lingering questions.
  21. The general consensus is that the plot of Kotor II is broken and unfulfilled. Many people have pondered and even more have been infuriated by the lack of explanation throughout the game. Rather than asking ALL my questions here, does anyone know where I may find information that helps with the story. For example, on other forums I've heard that people have revealed parts of the original kotor 2 script that didn't make it to the game, and these parts fill in the plot. Also, modding communities are working on aquiring info from LucasArts, so they might put the lost plots parts in the game themselves. At the very least, I would appreciate a website or forum that does a lot of self-interpretation and answers, rather than just complaining about the plot (not to say that people here at these forums are like that, but every forum I go to there seems to be a loss for true knowledge. Thanks in advance, Me.
  22. I'm curious though at what point a bullet must have turned around to hit someone????? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was in fact shown that bullets were shot from several different directions, leading to the possibility that there were more people involved that that Oswald guy, which the government tried to convince the public was a 'lone wolf' (acting alone).
