Should Tatooine and/or Kashyyk be in KotOR 3
User Name replied to User Name's topic in Obsidian General
Look, I don't want them to recycle the same planets over and over again in KotOR, but I think having at least ONE of these two: Kashyyk or Tatooine, would really help immerse people in the Star Wars universe. Plus, as I said before (in my earlier posts in this topic), it makes a whole lot of sense to include them in KotOR 3. I think Yavin 4 would be a great idea, and so would some others some people here mentioned, but they only make a brief appearance in the movies and so wouldn't feel THAT familiar to the player. So yeah, definitely, Yavin 4 etc are great ideas, as long as either Kashyyk or Tatooine are there as well. Planets which are really ICONIC in the Star Wars universe. All I'm asking for in KotOR 3 is a great story and characters, all the things to rival the previous instalments, and a wonderful immersive Star Wars experience. I know that's what you want as well. So think about it: is it really so much to ask? -
Who is the mystery woman in holo recording?
User Name replied to User Name's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Thanks guys for the responses. Yes I have played KOTOR1 but it was such a long time ago. I thought it did look like Bastila but T3 only mentioned it was a very old recording which I take it to mean 50-100 years old so it couldn't have been from KOTOR1 time. FOr a while I thought it was Kreia when she was very young. Unfortunately, I never found Bastila in the game which is too bad. It would have explained a lot after she reunites with T3 again. All I know is that Bastila is a hot looking Jedi babe as far as computer characters go. Sorry I'm too lazy to create an account so I shall remain "user name" LOL -
When you fix T3's core, he runs a holo of a young woman that orders T3 the to find any Jedi or Sith since her master isn't coming back. But when you ask T3, he only mentions it was a long time ago and there are no other answers nor a name of that female Jedi. Was that Kreia when she was young? It couldn't have been Revan since he left 5 years ago. Help

Kotor 3: Ideas and Suggestions

You said it. I agree with everything you said. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Everything you said, I agree with, except for numero C (which I know isn't a number, I just wanted to say numero). This is why (why I disagree with C, not why I wanted to say numero): The human brain (at our level of using it anyway) is a feeble and limited thing. Try reading a word describing a colour instead of saying the colour of the word or vice-versa; try tapping your hands to a certain rythm while tapping your feet to a completely different unrelated rythm, while beatboxing; and try licking your elbow (I know this last thing doesn't have anything to do with the human brain, I just said it because I know some people will try it when reading this). The point of all the above being that we cannot associate ourselves with TWO main characters. It is beyond our capability. You see, when playing a game or watching a movie, we always associate ourselves with one character, think of him as being ourselves subconsciously. Bring in 2 characters in the game and not only will this make one of the characters obsolete for many, but it will wreak havoc on the narrative and focus of the story and prevent the experience from being an immersive and involving one. -

Should Tatooine and/or Kashyyk be in KotOR 3
User Name replied to User Name's topic in Obsidian General
That would suck on a number of levels though, only one of which being that since this is Star Wars we need familiar points of reference such as planets that figure prominently in the movies. KotOR 3 taking place entirely outside of known space would be sad and empty and un-Star-Warsy and just plain wrong. Besides, you just said that "the whole story should take place on the Outer Rim totally". Tatooine is on the edge of the Outer Rim, so it would make sense for your character to swing by. -

Ok, so people are officially divided on this. 47% sulkily say no to both, and 53% want one or both of them. Hmm. Oh well -

Darth Shmart has basically the same idea as me: things, foreign things which were too fantastic and deviated too much from Star Wars (not believable, too 'out there', not Star Warsy at all etc) were introduced in The Sith Lords. I myself liked the Sith Lords a lot most of the time, but never loved it as much as KotOR. Many people agree with this. Now, I'm not one to b**ch about the past, so let us look to the future and hope that KotOR 3 retains Sith Lords' depth while having a very glorious Star Warsy KotOR-1-like kinda game with rip-roaring adventure, great characters and everything we love about Star Wars. -

Check out the Tales of the Jedi comics; you'd find far more 'fantastic' ideas over there; Kotor draws from that aspect of Star Wars. Actually this was the topic of a hot debate on these forums, almost a year ago. one of the views set forth there, I agree with: the 'Star Wars sense' of the OT was almost wholly circumscribed by the technical difficulties of the 70s. Just compare the two Yodas: The OT Yoda, is an out and out Muppet. The recent one swirls and bounces around, wears all sorts of facial expressions, etc. etc. So anyway: I guess 'The Star Wars Feel' has to do more with the Lucasian 'simple-moralistic-tale' than with any 'realism' (?!!!) as to the extent of powers. Just pull the story right, have it entertaining as opposed to *cought*incomplete*cough* and you can blow up as many star systems as you like. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree completely with what you've said, however I do believe believability (relatively speaking) factor in as well. Immersion and enjoyment of the Star Wars universe are hindered if taken too far... The Sith lords in an example I have and will cite time and again. Intentional or not, the 'Star Warsy' feel has already established itself, and attempts to change this... That's just not right. I don't see what's wrong with not going overboard with the fantastic here... And anyway sure, some elements of the prequels are more fantastic than their OT counterparts (with varying success.. One thing I did enjoy was Yoda). However most people agree the OT is better than the prequels. And let's not forget the prequels are still relatively believable, and never even come lightyears near what's in KotOR 2 in terms of fantastic stuff. Anywho I'm not trying to argue here. *yaaaaaawn* and I'm tired as hell. I get your points though, and wholeheartedly agree, although I still feel there's more to it than that. -

Hmm well that actually sounds like a good idea. It would be a really great idea for another Star Wars game, but not KotOR, seeing how the whole system would have to get redone and it would change the whole mechanic of the game. Who knows, maybe it could get implemented in KotOR IV or some prequels? Anyway another thing I just thought of: BIG IMPORTANT SUGGESTION FOR KOTOR 3 (w00t) : Make it more 'realistic' than The Sith Lords, which was waaay out... I mean, eating planets whole? Wanting the death of the Force? Good ideas in themselves, but not for Star Wars. The things above are too far out and fantasy-like to be believable. Make the Sith threat in KotOR 3 a bit more believable (in a Star Wars sense, that is). A bit like in KotOR 1 I guess. See what I mean? I think this was a real problem in The Sith Lords. Some things were... taken too far. Let's keep it real (again, I mean this in a Star Wars sense..). The game won't be any worse for it, on the contrary, it will only be more interesting and immersive as a result. -

Also there were three big bad Sith Lords you were supposed to fight, but that's two too much I think. There was not enough anticipation and tension leading up to the final confrontations, which resulted in 2 underdeveloped, superficial Sith Lords. Instead there should have been one enemy which was far more developed etc. Like Malak in KotOR, with which you had a history, you knew a lot about, and you had all the anticipation leading up to that final battle. Of course now it's too late to criticize The Sith Lords. I think it was a great game anyway, in its own way. KotOR 3 though should go back to its roots and go more the way of the original KotOR. So let's look to the future, and hope KotOR 3 will be better than The Sith Lords and maybe even better than KotOR. -
lol ok. I see what you mean. Of course, I don't want a KotOR rehash... I want an original game. Thing is, I want it to be star warsy, a lot more than TSL (this is Star Wars after all), and have more rip-roaring adventure in. Basically more elements of that Star Wars magic! While retaining the intelligence and depth of The Sith Lords.

I was thinking more along the lines of a space battle like in KotOR 1. You're inside the ship and you have a completely integrated and seamless tutorial like in the first game. I really don't think controlling ships directly is a good idea though... The furthest I'd go is to be able to give orders like "target that ship while sending some fighters to engage the enemy!", a bit like you're the admiral giving orders from inside the ship, from the bridge. I think the order thing should be saved until the end, though. At the beginning you should be a soldier or passenger in the ship or whatever, and fight off the Sith who are boarding the ship. Maybe man a turret for a bit as well... See what I mean? -
Seth Stari Arin Arias Arias Arin Arias Arinn Junn Jasra ^^^ all male names, by the way. Seth Stari and Junn Jasra I used in KotOR (I love that game so much), and the others (Arias Arin to be precise) I used in The Sith Lords.

I'd like it if KotOR 3 went back to its roots and was more like KotOR than The Sith Lords. KotOR 3 needs to have: A large-scale war, Sith vs Republic, like in KotOR. Not the quiet battle that no one knew about which was fought during The Sith Lords, something more along the lines of... Well, KotOR 1. It needs to be more star warsy! Like KotOR 1. KotOR 2 wasn't very star warsy. Characters need to be more developed, i.e have more subplots (a la KotOR 1). There needs to be a sense of rip-roaring adventure like in the first KotOR. A familiar planet to the movies would be nice... Tatooine springs to mind, and so does Kashyyk. Both great planets, right? Both have endless possibilities, especially considering you only explored a tiny part of them in KotOR. I want (and a lot of other people do too) a Yoda-type character, preferably in the Jedi Council in KotOR 3. Could be Vandar, doesn't have to be. A plot twist would be nice. One thing I know about the main character is that I don't want to be the exile again. Being a "wound in the force" or an "absence", an emptiness, I really don't fancy, and neither do most people. Unless, of course, the exile was "healed" of this in some way. Still though, I think the exile was a character unique (and great in his own way in the context of KotOR 2), but he/she should stay that way.

Since this is a topic about KotOR 3, I'm going to input some suggestions: (1)I'd like it if KotOR 3 went back to its roots and was more like KotOR than The Sith Lords. KotOR 3 needs to have: (2)A large-scale war, Sith vs Republic, like in KotOR. Not the quiet battle that no one knew about which was fought during The Sith Lords, something more along the lines of... (7)I want (and a lot of other people do too) a Yoda-type character, preferably in the Jedi Council in KotOR 3. Could be Vandar, doesn't have to be. (8)A plot twist would be nice. Anywho what's that link in the first post of this thread? It doesn't work. If it suggests that KotOR 3 is indeed in the works, then I need to see it!

U get 1 part (dunno which one) from the HK-50 on paragus (the one that tells u 2 stay and later attacks u) U get another part on telos from 1 of the three HK-50's that u encounter on the top of the telos academy, And you'll get a third part from the HK-50's that attack you on Nar-Shadda when you play the T3 unit in (what's his name?)the hutt's warehouse (in the dock on nar shaddaa don't know what his name was;) And if you're a lightsider and want a lightside HK-47 you can buy some kind of upgrade from the merchant on nar shaddaa (don't know her name) i do know she's a duros and she sells you more items (like the silver christal) if you clear Onderon and Dantooine, cause she needs a trade root or something... I think it only works if you clear both planets (that's when I noticed the upgrade) Hope this clears things up

I just defeated Master Vrook, and i returned to the ebon hawk. I fixed up some lightsabers. I then talked to keira who told me too to revisit the Enclave to fight some jedi. thats great, except when i try to leave the ebon hawk, after ive selected my party of course, I only get black screen with the green mouse icon. Ive tried everything, changing characters, cleaning the disc. But I can travel to any other planet and do anything there, yet dantooline is closed to me. Can anyone help?
