NWN - playing and modding. Outside of posting on the 'net, all my computer time is spent doing that.

"Good battles and races/classes were well implemented." Horrible battles. Races, and classes were well implemented; but I apologize for thinking that it takes more than well implemented races and classes to make a good game. R00fles!

"If they wanted my money" They didn't want your money.

So.. is it the brother/sister combo, switching classes, and world hopping? or is that aprt 5. Or this an actually new old one. Stupid SS and their switching number sup between the Japanese and NA versions. Whose dumb idea was THAT?
-
FF3? That's the one where you have the characters learing things like defense against damage by taking damage? if so, that FF sucks. If it's the one with the four heroes who can switch classes, two are brother and sister (and don't know it to start *Yawn*), and eventually do some world hopping? That one also sucks. I'll stick with FF1 (though very basic), FF4, FF6, FF7, FF8. and FF10.

Terminator 4 - Would you look forward to it?
Volourn replied to AA Institute's topic in Way Off-Topic
I never said T1 sucked. I said it was the worst of the bunch. It's putrid 'romance' si one of the main culprits as wella s the fact that the actor who played the 'hero' was crap and brought the whole picture down. The romance in T3 was done very well in comparison. And, heck, the 'romance' between Terminator and Sarah in T2 was more believeable than the T1 romance. Hahahaha. -

No. T1 was. -
The mods are perfect. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a troll, and those who don't have the guts to share the name are also cowards. Game over.

360 games even more expensive than Xbox ones
Volourn replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Computer and Console
"The piracy thing was a couple of pages ago so it just seemed like non sequitur rant." Yes; but I hadn't yet called anyone a supporter of thieves so I had to get in it. P.S. Piracy = Theft. "If people dont buy in the same volume at the higher prices then you just screwed yourself over." Huh? How do you figure this? Simple math that even a pleeblo like me cna figur eit out. Sell 10 copies at $10 = $100 Sell 5 copies at $20 = $100 Sold 50% less copies yet made the same amount of costs. Add that to less production costs, and you are gaining money. So, your idea that if you sell less copies you somehow automaticlaly make less money is absolute nonsense. Go buy your fictional $1 game, and your $50 corvette. "If you haven't noticed, but overall game quality has become crappier and crappier since the late 1990's." False. -
He loses all respect for thinking IWD2 is better than IWD1. And, why do people continue pushing that myth that PST is some pusedo intellectual story. It's a friggin' game whose main story is about an amnesiac trying to regain his memory and elarn about his past. Hello? Nothing intellectual about it! Good - even great game - ; but pseduo intellectual it ain't. This mythical myth is worse than the 'world is flat' myth. R00fles!

360 games even more expensive than Xbox ones
Volourn replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Computer and Console
"When did piracy come into it?" Um. Did you read the thread? Some people ar etrying to use increased prices as an exuse for priacy - not that such thieves need that excuse as they ahve a habvit of making any exuse up as to blame others for their actions. "Yes, price is a big factor in consumer spending." Sure is, and we'll see that any loss of sales because of the price icnrease will at the very least be offset by the new cost anyways if not they'll make more money even if theys ell less. "At no point did I say or even imply charging a $1 that would just be stupid." Sure did. It's in the tone fo your post. You beleive you are somehow entitled to games. You are not. -
360 games even more expensive than Xbox ones
Volourn replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Computer and Console
"Hmm... you may be right.... but wouldn't that hurt the sales and thus the market since a lot of... umm... short or weak games are being made? And I don't see people dishing out 50-70$ for a short or underdeveloped game." Huh? Most people have no problem buying short games. In fact, most games *are* short. Sgort being no more than 20 hours in this case. Quite frankly, people whining about cost increases are the same people who believe theyd eserve everything for free anyway. These are the same people whoc ry that games are currently x amount and will whine if its lowed y amount or increased z amount. Bottom line is companies have the moral right to charge ANYTHING they want for their games, and potential consumers only moral right is to agree to buy at that price or DON'T BUY IT AT ALL. Piracy is theft. Period. As far as any reasonable person should be concerned theft should be taking soemthing that does not belong to you which is exactly what piracy is. Game over. \ "Or you could make very good games and make your money by selling lots of units. I know which one I prefer." Market don't work that way. You could make the best game ever, and have it sellf 2 million copies; but if you charge $1 for it (like you likely demand) and it cost $200 million to make (which what it would cost to make the "perfect" game) the comapnies would make $0 making it nothing more than slave labour. Lame. -
Terminator 4 - Would you look forward to it?
Volourn replied to AA Institute's topic in Way Off-Topic
Yeha; but because of it it seemed fake and forced. The romance in T3 seemed more real, and natural between John and his girlfriend. His mother's romance felt like it was put in because they had no choice to do so. -
Terminator 4 - Would you look forward to it?

T3 was good. T2 was the best Termiantor. T1 was good but the romance in it was lame. T4 will likely be fun; but Arnold needs to be in it. Come on, Arnold!! -
So, a part of the 10% that don't matter? R00fles!

Bioware/Pandemic and investor relationship
Volourn replied to Hurlshort's topic in Computer and Console
Just like the first one. LOLOLOLOLOL -
"nor can you choose to kill members in your group" You sure about this? "You can't make an alliance with Sion or Nihilus" That's because they don't want to be your friend. They don't like you. Why would they make an alliance with you? "But no matter which you choose, it won't affect how the plot unfolds at all, except to allow an ending for either side" Thanks for admitting that your chocies do effect the game, the world, and the ending. Now, stop embarassing yourself.

Bioware/Pandemic and investor relationship
Volourn replied to Hurlshort's topic in Computer and Console
"So you're saying you can find more sequels with higher grades than their original on IMDB than I can find original movies with higher grades than their sequels on IMDB? YOU'RE ON!" Do you alwsy allow othersa' opinions sway yours? You allow others to tell you what to think? WOWSERS! Whatever happened to making up one's own mind? Hahahaha! -
Bioware/Pandemic and investor relationship
Volourn replied to Hurlshort's topic in Computer and Console
False. Most movie sequels ar ebetter than the original. people just look at originals through rose coloured glasses because 'it came first' is it was 'more original. Originality does not equal quality. -
"You might be right. But unfortunately that says a lot more about the quality of roleplaying in Bioware games than it does about Jade Empire." It measn they have improved in this department. And, BIO's games have better role-playing than the majority of 'old skool RPFs' except possibly Ultima. " I mean, if a 'RPG' with crappy combat, shoot'em up sequences (which were crappy too), no real inventory and really meaningless skills are the best that Bioware can produce" Combat in JE was awesome. And, I don't care for Rt combat much. The shoot 'em ups wer eok; but I don't care about them really. Never even finished the quest for it either. It had inventory. It just didn't let you have 80000 wepaons, potions, and crap. Besdies inevntory does not = role-playing. What menaingless skills? Surely no more meaningles sksills than your average Western RPG. . " Not a good sign for the entire RPG market in general. I agree that Jade Empire had good dialogue trees, good characters and a decent (albeit overused) story, but that's just not good enough. I wouldn't even consider Jade Empire to be what I think the thread starter considers a western RPG. Jade Empire is just another decent (but overrated by reviewers) game that got decent sales.. which it deserved." And?

"It seems like Bioware seems to have completely sold out, especially now that they joined up with Pandemic." You do not know what you are talking about, and logic is misisng from your post. Completely. What does BIO joining with Pandemic have to do this? Perhaps, it's a sign that Pandemic will start make role-plkaying games; not the other waya round. Afterall, BIO is the bigger company of the two. Besdies, BIO's continued support of NWN, and the devlopment of DA is more proof you ar ebeing silly. Let's not forget that fact that their latest game - JE - has the best role-playing of ANY of their games; it's even more proof you are illogical. The fact you think KOTOR2 is the best RPG ever is also silly. Lots of games CRUSH it. BG series, PST, NWN, JE, FO, the Ultimas, and the list goes on. Game over.

"As kumquat said, didn't they do something similar to that for TSL? The Obsid developers commented how BioWare was available often if Obsid had questions about the engine and various other questions. " From waht i recall with KOTOR, it was more like here 's the engine Obsdiian, her'es KOTOR1, go have fun in the sandbox. I'm sure they helped or answered any questions that Obsidian had; but it seems more 'official' here. And, I have a funny feeling that was the terms Atari asked for when the deal with Obsidian was made to take over the sequel. Of course, I don't have all the details so we're all just semi guessing exactly what BIO has to do with NWN2. Only the Trifecta knows for sure. But, obviously, this is further evdience that BIO likely has more to do with NWN2 than they did with KOTOR2 (or do with The Witcher which they pretty much have nothing to do with other than the use of the engine). It's much like that engine that BIO licensed for ME. The cretaor of that likely has NOTHING tod ow ith ME outside of basic engine help.

Post counts fanboyism is for even bigger losers than me. And, that's saying a lot. Number of posts mean nothing. Nothing.
-
Because, as explained before, they are involved., Unlike KOTOR it's not just the engine and the fact it's a sequel to their game. Accoridng to BIO and Obsidian (from the interviews/previews), the two companies meet once a month to discuss the engine, the camapign, and everything else. Basiclaly, BIO is like an Assistant of Atari Semi Overseeing NWN's devlopment if these interviews/articles/previews are to be believed.

Um.. It is a FAQ. And, nowhere did I stae that the previews were from 2005 to my recollection. All I said was that there is tons of info on DA out already. Is there a 10 page article in some silly paper mag? No. But, there is LOTS of info to be had. Check out both the Official, and Unofficial FAQs. Offiical well because its official and the unofficial because it tends to contain quotes from BIOaramiks.
