  1. "Most people who bought the game never played a mod. Most of the games money is made in the first couple of weeks, then the price drops. Good mods take time so you cant capitalise on them in that initial sales period (unless you stick the toolset out as a seperate utility). The core of the Multiplayer market are MMPORG players." NWN has been a solid seller since its release. It's been making sales pretty much all the way through hence why they don't hesitate to release more of it like the new version coming out soon. Ellester, the thing is is that NWN is pretty different comapred to most of the games is because BIO always advertised the toolset as a big deal and a big part of the packaage. Completely different than BG series or even Half Life (not a sknowledgable of HL as I don't care about the game) where they were marketd as a certain type of game and the players decided to take it in a different direction. NWN was sold on the basis of the both the campaign and the toolset. It is true that most people who bought, and played NWN did so for the BIO official stuff. That still doens't change that the toolset is very much a part of the package. And, to compare MW mods to NWN mods is silly. The majority of MW mods ar enothing more than fluff akin to the NWN 'mods' that add new clothes and stuff. How many MW actaully give you full new adventures with 'unique' stories, characters, and stuff. Veyr few. Same with BG seies mods outside of maybe a handful. Not to mention, 99.9% of Bg series mods are garbage and espicially the bigger ones like Dark Side of the Sword Coast which was a joke. The point here is that NWN was, is, and always will be about the combination of campaign and toolset. BG series was not. There's a reason why NWN was more expensive. It's nota coincidence. There's also a reason why NWN is still alive, and not long dead like the BG series. Heck, the so called 'crappy' Aurora is still powering more modern games like NWN2, and The Witcher. Go figure.
  2. No, theya rne't. For BG, the game was amrketed based only on the actual campaign. For NWN, both the actual campaign and toolset were marketed. Therefore, mods are a part of NWN. Period. Do you really think NWN would be getting all these patches, and PM if it wasn't for the toolset? NO. And, once again, you admit you like the OC. Thank you.
  3. "but is it really doing anyone any favors buy criticizing. No" Yes. Actually, it does. Criticism is what makes chnages occur. If the players,a nd coaches keep their mouths shut when a horrible call is amde or some other nonsense occurs than the refs and league will think they're eprfect. Bettman is a coward. He's nothing more than a dictator, and (most) of the GMs are nothing more than his goons. Shoot outs ar elame. Period. And, I hope more coaches and players vocie their opinion. I hope one of these days, someone fights these fines which are nothing more than league sponsored theft. I would not be surprised if a good lawyer would be able to argue in court how they are illegal. DOWN WITH THE NEW NHL! It should be called the BHL!!
  4. Dragon Mountain kobolds use lots of attics; but I don't recall sticking a wand up someone's butt is one of them. The ambush is a good tatic. The wand thing is not.
  5. "It really is quite curious how Volo always misplaces spacebar clicks when he's agitated. Chronic finger issues?" Eh. I'm always misplacing the spacebar click. I'm simply a horrible typist. And, SP, the fact that you made this thread proves you are interested in NWN2. You might as well stop denying it.
  6. "Very boring post. I wish I was more flame happy.." You are welcomed. "
  7. "Your group is in the ages 13-14 correct? I would say that you will simply have to allow these kinds of things in order for the players to get it out of their system so they will realise its bad and begin to play more seriously when they get older." It has nothing tod o with age. My firends,a nd I started playing D&D around age 9-10 and we would NEVER think of playing such a silly race combo. In fact outside of the basic races, and some of the races in the Complete Book of Humanoids, variant races just werne't acceptable. Don't blame age for this. And, Hades, I don't think sticking a wand of fireball up someone's butt is gonna allow it to work. Seems to me you were planning tos crw the PCs no matter. I have no problems killing PCs - heck, i do it all the time - but; purpsoely making it impossible for them to succeed is not good. Come on, I *know* you are a great DM from your other threads so don't embarass us Killer Dms tm.
  8. "KOTOR uses a much more basic version of NWN's combat engine due to the lack of combat options and choices. However, the main underlying workings of it is basically the same. As for Obsidian, I'd rather them make an original game; but KOTRO2 is not a bad way to go if they fix KOTOR's weaknesses. *cough* controls *cough*" Game over.
  9. "587 216 537 753" 753 points in 587 games is pretty darn good. Sure, beats the Moose' PPG. And, look at his +/1. There's also the fact he's been at the top or near the top of th scoring race in multiple years, and 2 cups is enough. Just ebcuase someone has played 1000+ games or hasn't means nothing to me.
  10. Hades has common sense! YAY! And, Gabrielle, don't worry about Hades. For a guy who slags NWN as much he does he sure spends a lot of time playing it and throws cash at it. We all know he likes NWN.
  11. "Great mods for those game series have been made." No.
  12. "Anyhow, this is probably the proof that no matter how elitist a gamer one is, and clamours for "gameplay" with long and philosophical posts, they are just as ready to debate on the graphics. Hell, Volourn, shouldn't you judge NWN2 by its gameplay if you want to compare it to Oblivion? No? Yes?" You joking right? Please tell me you joking. It be embarassing if you ar ebeings erious. All I said was that graphically from what we've seen of both games, Oblivion is better graphically than NWN2. That doens't mean I think Oblivion will be a better game. Do you even read my posts on what I think of Betehsda, MW, and Oblivion. For the record, I think Oblivion will suck no matter its graphics, and NWN2 will be awesome no matter it sgraphics. Period. The only reason I commented on graphics at all is because this thread is about screenshots which means the only thing able to be commented on is grpahics and possibly atmospher.e You cna't debate gameplay with these screenshots. R00fles! "Common sense would dictate not posting screenies for a game that has been out for ages as news. I'm sure everyone else managed to figure that one out. When they are released then thats a different matter but as of now it's blindingly obvious." NWN2 is not NWN1. NWN1 is not NWN2. Common sense should dictate that. Therefore your thread title is a LIE!
  13. "As it is now, I don't think he belongs in the Hall of Fame." That's absolutely silly talk. Forsberg is one of the best players ever to alce up a paif of hockey skaes in the NHl, and has basically accomplished everything it should take to reach the Hall of Fame. - Great point production - Producing when it matters - Winningthe Stanley Cup (multiple times) - Being a dominate player - Great two way player You said it yourself. When he is healthy he is the best player on the ice or at least one of the best. If this doens't make him qualify for the HOF with some of the not so great players already in the HOF; geez. And, I say this while being non Forsberg fan.
  14. "Toee has the best combat in any game," Correction. It has the best combat SYSTEM of any game. Sadly, the combat itself was lacklustre. Lack of spellcasting enemies, lack of sneak attacking enemies (anyone who hasa fought enemy rogues in NWN can attest how deadly that can be), heck lack of varity in enemies, lack of any tatics (even worse than NWN as bugbears running pass 4 warriors to get to the mage way in the back and getting hit by multiple AOOs is NOT good tatics) really hurt what is basically a dungeon crawl. As for IWD series. IWD1 was very good for a dungeon crawl. IWD2 needs to be thrown down a toilet bowl, and flushed.
  15. "You own NWN?" As do a million + others. "But I thought it hadn't been released yet?" NWN has been released for over three years. "My bad for thinking that everyone has a certain level of common sense." Common sense would dictate that NWN, and NWN2 are two different games so they should be labeled as such. Afterall, when someone says they dislike NWN (or like it) are they talking about NWN or NWN2? Hmm.. Don't talk about common sense unless you are planning to use it yourself. As for the pics, they look nice. Aren't special in that 'WOW! These are awesome!" ala JE, BL or future games like Gothic 3 or PUKE even Oblivion.
  16. I own NWN, and while I like the grahics just fine they don't look like that. Sorry; but you should punish your source if you think those are NWN screenies.
  17. Alternate accounts are for cowards. It's a way to troll, and not take responsible for it. It's to cause trouble, and say it wans't me; it was that guy. I say if you are gonna be a jerk like me at least be upfront about it. Stop pretending.
  18. "Then don't think of it as a demotion. Think of it as him being sent out for more training. Other jobs will sometimes require you to go for periodic training course for one thing or another, and so does hockey." Trading is completely differnt to me than being sent to the minors. Afterall, everyone's goal is to make it to the NHL. Being sent to the minors only hurts your chances. Being sent for training in anrea you don't know to update your knowledge base is a whole different issue. He's being sent to a hockey league. He's not leanring anything knew except his employer thinks he sucks. "In other words, Ty Conklin had to agree with the decision. It wasn't the organization "demoting him." Irrelavnt. Thats' why I called him a coward for accepting the demotion. No matter hwo you cut it, it is a demotion. And, if Messier had accepted a demotion in the "past he was also a coward. I'm sure glad he grew out of the cowardice phase. "You can't 'fire' an NHL player. At best you can put him on waivers, but if no one picks him up, you still have to pay his contract. At best you can negotiate a contract buyout, but those can only be done at the beginning of the season, and from now on will still count against your salary cap." Irrleavnt. Telling the player to go home is firing him. Just like when a coach or Gm is fired with a year or two left on their contratc. Even though the club still ha sto pay him (unless another teams signs him) it s still a firing. "They are trying to put him in situations where he can regain his confidence, because he's clearly shaken by his performance thus far in the season." That's right. Getting him to play with guys who either aren't ready for the NHL, or simply aren't good enopugh for the NHL will boost his ego. Haha. That would be like sending a 15 year old to play with 8 year olds to 'boost his confidence'. Hahahahahaha! As for Edmonton, the reason why they're playing poorly is because the team is awful. Very few good players, horrible goaltending, and a medicore coach would do that to you.
  19. "That's the most bizarre comparison I've ever heard. First off, Conklin is still part of the organization. His contract is not terminated. It would be more like Microsoft moving him into a less prestigious position, or sending him to an office out in the boondocks. Second, the minors means he still gets paid the same, and he will probably get a ton of more playing time. Is it better for them to have him sit on the bench every game? He just needs to work hard and earn his way back to the major league team. No NHL team stays healthy all season long, so if he gets to work he'll get another chance to play." If he's not good enough to play for them they should simply fire him. It doesn't take 'class' on his aprt to accept his 'demotion' it takes cowardice and alck of conviction on his part. Quite frankly, the team just told him he sucks like poo. That isn't clasy on their aprt either. If ane mployer told me I suck like poo; I sure as heck would no longer work for them and it wouldn't be because I lacke dclass (though i do for other reasons, lol); it's because I have no motivation to work for someone who thinks I suck for poo. I'd rather work for someone who thinks I'm a worthwhile contributer, and worth the salary they pay me. As an employee, a demotion is NEVER an option. Never.
  20. No problem!
  21. Only a classless team organization would send a guy to the 'minors'. Only a coward would do that. And, only fans of cowards would support a policy like that. It's like Microsoft demoting an employee to a lesser known computer company. R00fles! If the player isn't good enough for you, fire his butt. Plain, and simple.
  22. "Just because they haven't made it to the finals doesn't mean he's not a great clutch player." I never said he wasn'ta clutch player. I just said he wasn't the best clutch player. And, once again, GWG by themselevs mean nothing. Afterall, a GWG in an 8-3 win means crap.
  23. "Do you allow the first stranger on the street to joke with you like your friends do?" Yes, i do, actually. And, attacking new posters just because theya re new is trolling and flaming. Both against the rules. And, besides the dumbest posts I've seen on thes eboards come from the so called veterans including me as wella s you. Game over. P.S. Report the truth to the modertaors all you want. Just becuase someone has spammed these foums for 2 years doens't make them better or smarter than someone who has spammed them for a week. In fact, it makes them dumber. LOL
  24. "The majority act stupid, post irrelevent posts, and act like they're above everyone else." That describes most 'veteran' posters on this board. Or any board for that matter. Hypocrisy = You. R00fles!
  25. NWN2.
