  1. It's only on your games if you decided to buy it KNOWING full well what it entailed because EA/BIo were up front with it. Sorry, no sympathy here. It be one thing if it was secretly thrown in; but it wasn't. If you don't like the diea of it don't buy the game. Or play it. Of course, that doens't mean I disagree with you. DRM as implemented for ME PC seems silly. Thankfully, I didn't need to worry since I had ME XBOX 360. HAHAHA!
  2. Won't be too long before Obsidian will be anything but small. 135 and counting. Next up 200 employees. Plus, 3 games in development (and a 4th in secret maybe shhh). Not bad, not bad.
  3. EASY PREDICTION: Boston won't win world series this season.
  4. I'm referring to those who (if that's you it includes you if not than don't worry) who keep spouting on how Obsidian should stick with 'what they're good at/have experience' with crowd. It's an insult to Obsidian to claim that they wouldn't be good enough to make a MMORPG.
  5. "I don't think it's a great idea to shift focus when you're only experienced in one field." That's silly. BIO went from meedical software to action/advenbture games to RPGs to Action RPGs to now MMORPGs. Yet, they've succeeded throughout. I think stating that obsidian (or any game company) should stick to one genre/subsection of game is silly and belittles their skills. It's like saying they shouldn't do an Aliens game because Obsidian only knows how to make fantasy style games . It's amazing that a 'BIo fanboy' like myself has mor faith in Obsidian than their own fanboys. LOL
  6. Link: http://dragonage.bioware.com/forums/viewto...m=135&sp=15 "Dragon Age (roughly, don't take any of this for granted) (a) Weapon Base Damage (b) Attribute Modifier © Class/Level Modifiers (d) Weapon Material (d) Character position and facing (e) Weapon AP (f) Opponent Armor DR (g) Talents (h) Effects and effect interaction (e.g. fire damaged reduced by if currently frozen, shield spells, etc.) (i) Item Properties (j) a bunch of additional factors on both sides (k) Damage Type Resistance (% based)"
  7. "Doesn't Xbox Live cost M-O-N-E-Y?" 1. It does. 2. Youc an still play MP without xbox live. I do it all the time. 3. PC games can also cost money to play online/MP. See most mmorpgs.
  8. "i have already stated that consoles are out of the question here. my reasons are in my second or third post." Why are you quoting me when your reply has very little if anything than what you quoted. My postw as about the assertion that you don't pay to play MP on PC games...
  9. "No paying for multiplayer" Lies.
  10. Considienrg that most picthers would prefer to eb starters (for the glory!), I seriously doubt that pitchers/relievers/closers as a group went to MLB and made a demand to only picth 1 inning because any more than that would be cruel and unusual. L0L
  11. "prima donna's that pitch for an inning or even less to get a save. " L0L Prima donnas? Like thye chose that. That's 100% manager decision to make that change; not the players. And, the old days were full of whiny prima donnas. We just didn't hear about it because the media were wussies.
  12. "Yeah yeah Volo we've heard that hundred times" Yeah, yeah. And, we heard the silly Obsidian is BIS stuff a 100 times. Doesn't make it true.
  13. "Cool beans is Volo, or Sand, isn't it?" I've used it; but I most certainly didn't create it. It's an old expression from some thing i don't remember. L0L Then again, I didn't even create R00fles. *shrug* ON TOPIC: I'll check it out. P.S. Skimmed the part on casuual gamers.. Let me tell you that hardcore players find themselves everywhere. If you spent your time on the EA sports game forums, you'd see this. There are absolutely rabid people there. Plus, there are leagues for the game (heck, I created one). Like anything - including RPGs, the main base are casual, and you always have a subset of 'hardcore gamers'. Even games like FO which are usually considered 'hardcore' are mostly played and enjoyed by 'casual players'.
  14. L0L If he was doing that, we'd have heard of it by now considering how intrusive the media is in lockerroom nowadays. Lockerrom secrets don't stay secrets long. And, oh, btw, you just desrcibed Mark Messier's way of captaincy not to mention other top line captains (thoguh sissy fit is not what they're usuall called).
  15. "ps if called plays suck, am gonna claim that we got idea from leferd." L0L
  16. As long as you don't steal ME then that's your right. Just don't buy *or* play ME PC. Just like it's alright for companies to protect their products from theives (even if they are making a mistake in the way they're going about it). ie. I could protect my house by using a padlock on my front door even though thieves will still likely break; but it's still their fault for being thieves in the first place. Not mine just because I used a foolish method.
  17. No matter how one slices and dices it, BIo developed BG. Bis published. Of course, BIS guys were involved in the game. That's what publishers do. They have final say. Just like there were LA guys involved in KOTOR2 development, and Atari guys involved in NWN2 development. That doesn't mean LA and Atari developed those games. Obsidian did. Also, the connection between Obsidian and BIS are just a handful (albeit some important members). Nowher enear the majority. Obsidian is Obsidian. And, that's a good thing. BIS was a failed division, Obsidian is a growing company. DEATH TO BIS! LONG LIVE OBSIDIAN! P.S. On MMORPG, I'm not abig fan of them; but it wouldn't be the end of the world if Obsidian decided to make one, and I have no doubt they have the talent to do it, too.
  18. "for an oversatisfied market when even the most hyped games tend to fail." L0L But, no.
  19. "Locksmith would probably have been interpreted as expert (an NPC class ) and scout as ranger" Funnily enough, locksmith was a dwarven rogue (thief) kit from the Complete Book of Dwarves in 2E. Dwarven cultture tends to frown on thieves, and are ahrdcore for punishment. Of course, funnily enough, they have two gods - one of thieves, and the other that has 'thieves' amongst his followers. Anyways, off topic there.. I'll probably recreate an old school party from pnp like I usually do with these games...
  20. I would never make a dwarven thief. I would make a dwarven SCOUT or LOCKSMITH. Thievery is beneath my people. (ie. halfings)
  21. "Anyone who doesn't agree that friendly fire is a game-breaker never met Qara. That is all." ' Wrong.
  22. "I did all the side-quests I could find and I even played that horribly stupid shoot'em up sequence and finished it in 13-15 hours (can't remember exactly anymore). I have no idea how you played it. " Hey, everyone, mkreku wants a medal for beating a game as fast as possible!
  23. *SIGH* I hate to go this route but you give me no choice - In. your. opinion. Gears of War, for me, was fun for a bit but eventually got bored of it. Never played Rainbow Six. Not my type of game. Espicially since ME isn't a shooter - it's an action RPG. Different style of combat than those games.
  24. Actually, I did address your point. You called Aurora combat action combat with the not so subtle implication that IE isn't. Aurora combat isn't actiony. Not even close to it. By definition, it can't be. It's mechanics - at least for the D&D versions of the engine - can't be. "The engine wasn't designed for squad-based tactical combat and handles it badly" The engine was designed for D&D combat be it with one controleld character + npcs or the multi headed monster. And, it does it awesomely. Best. engine. evar.
