"despite them knowing how many members of the public are thieves, rapists, dealers etc etc." A very very, very tiny, tiny, tiny percentage. And, if theya re gonna react like every member is a rapist, murderer, or other vioent criminal than the police force is a lost cause. It also spits in the fate of the mandate of PROTECT AND SERVE. PROTECT AND SERVE. NOT HARASS AND ASSAULT.

"Donner was targetting the families of police officers, he he hardly seems like a reliable character witness" Holy moly, I agree! Donner was a pyshopathic murderering scumbag. He was one of those peice of crap cops who don't deserve to wear the unfiorm. "There are far more criminals in the general population than in the police force, unless you live in some sort of autocratic police state." True or not, this is totally irrelevant. I expect much more from the police than random people. When you put on the uniform you should 'serve and protect' not 'harass and intimidate'.

"The dad who arrested the boyfriend was suspended." he should have been ****canned. And, to comapre cops to other jobs. When is crew up at work (I never do lol), nobody can die. Plus, there is a difference between making a MISTAKE and taking out your weapon and physically assaulting someone, or abusing your badge because you have a ahrdon for your daughter's boyfriend. Those are not mistakes.Making a mistake would misfiling paperwork or sleeping in. Those are not enccessarily fire worthy for any job but the other things/ Absolutely. If I starting beating up at any job I would lose it. Period. Cops are supposed to uphold the law. Not break it or abuse it. Capiche?

"You're Canadian..." There's been more than a few instances of Kanadian police brutality. It's not an Amerikan only disease. "But it's popular to buck authority as some posts here suggest.." It's not about 'bucking authority'. Have we forgotten the credo 'protect and serve'. the police are suppsoed to work for the public not against them. If someone curses a ploice officer they should ignore it, Police should be held to a higher standard not a lower standard. It's illegal to physcially assault someone who isn't physically attacking you yet police get away with that all the time. A guy on the ground who is hansdful should not be whacked with a nightstick or pepper sprayed or tazered numerous times just because the cops are frustrated or angry no matter whatc rime he may have committed. isn't this why they get special training? On top of that, If you are truly pro real police, it is your duty to call out the bad ones to help protect the good ones.

"On a less grand personal note, what kind of bastard would refuse to help the cops stop a case of serious domestic abuse? By the sound of this rather one sided article the police wanted to get (quote) "a tactical advantage." In other words they either wanted his house so they could catch the suspect unawares, and or not get shot by him in the process. So we have a plaintiff who doesn't give a **** about either the victim or the people trying to help them. So, I in turn don't really give a **** about their feelings. Or their pet dog." They aren't doing any such thing. They are refusing to let them use their home. Where. they. live. 'tatical advantage'. L0LZ Police should eb capable of doiung their jobs and stopping 'serious domestic abuse' without stealing innocent people's private property. FFS "Where I live, the assumption would be that any citizen would let the police use their house, and if the citizen would disagree, that the police could politely do as they wanted anyway, of course recompensating for any inconvenience. Additionally, most people would rather go to the police than be bullied by any criminal. It's hard and/or pointless to threaten people if you know the stakes are against you, and we can only make this so by acting collectively in support of the law enforcement." 'Politely' do as they want? L0L How do they manage that? L0L 'Bullied by criminal'. If the cops are stealing my property theya r eno longer cops. Just bullies. if they can take whatever they want when theyw ant that makes them bullies and absusing their power. wHICH IS IMMORAL, EVIL, AND SELFISH. Why do people feel then police should be allowed to do whatever they want just because they have a unfiorm? That's screwed up.
-
"Those cops seems like they have made quite a mess out of this situation, but there is no reason they should not be able to enter an innocent person's house when arresting another individual. I assume this includes that they pay for any damage to the house." there was no criminal - suspected or otherwise - in the house. they wanted to use the house and were told no by the owner which is his right. It be a completely different story if, say, theyw ere pursuing a suspect who ran into the house and they followed. Of coruse, that wouldn't give the cops the right to treat innocents in the manner they did, but they would be more justfiied in entering the house. Also, cops cannot enter privated wellings without warrants unless there is IMMEDIATE danger potential (ie;. crazy person with a gun threateneding to kill someone inside said house). Stop defending the scumbags.
-
Hurlshot, you claimed it would be acceptable for the cops to kill the man attacking them with his fists. That's evil. Someone in a fistfight should not be killed but then aagin you ignored my example. if two punks get into a fist fight and then one pulls out a gun and shoots the other. He is charged with murder. Why do you feel it is acceptabel for cops to pull out their gun and shoot unarmed people? Whya re you stating that their standards of behaviour should be elssened than non cops just ebcause they have uniforms on? Their standard of behaviour should be higher. It is immoral, and evil to shoot someone who is unarmed when you should eb able to defend yourself without murder. Are the cops so pathetic? And, why do youd efend such misbehaviour. If you came up and punched me, and I took out a gun and shot you; I'd be in prison. No questions asked. Why should cops NOT be held to the same standard? DOES. NOT. COMPUTE.
-
These scumbags are peices of crap. The house owner should have shot every single last one of them has they evilly, immorally, selfishly, scumbag, and illegally intruded his home and proceed to threaten, physically assult, threatened to murder, stole, commited animal abuse, and destroyed his private property. Nothing more than gang behaviour should be punished like gangs. Pieces of crap liek this have no right to wear the unfiorm and spit on the good people who do wear the uniform honourably. A pox on them and all their evil supporters.
-
"So you are defending people who get into fistfights with the cops?" Depends on the situations. Cops are human. By defintion, this emans some cops are good and some cops are bad. Just ebcause you wear a badge doesn't make you immune to being a scumbag piece of ****. "There are plenty of avenues for a citizen to file complaints against the police. Going after them physically is not one of them." that's right. Complain after you've had your arm broke, been shot half a dozen (or more times), have no mroe teeth, suffering eprmenant brain dage. Yup, wait until after it's over to complain.. IF YOU LIVE. "I know it's edgy for you folks to whine about cops, but the majority of them are just normal folks trying to do a civil service job, one that becomes very difficult in more urban environments." Normal people don't have brainwashed people like you who blindly defend them when they break the law or do stupid stuff. Why do you think it's okay to beat up and coldly murder suspects or 'suspicious' people without punishment? This diea that police should be held to a lesser standard than civiliians is a joke. they should be held to a HIGHER standard. yes, their job is stressful, and theyd eal with allt ypes of scumbags but just ebcause they deal with scumbags doesn't give them the right to murder and beat up innocents. Pounding on someone's face with a nightstick because they cursed at you is not right. Its' evil. Isn't this the whole reason why their is entire training program dedicated to teach police the proper behaviour? Perhaps police should man up and act civilized and treat civilians with respect - if they did, maybe police wouldn't have a poor public reputation. Plenty of good police officers out there... why are you defending the scumbag ones? You arne't a TRUE police supporter. I am. By defending the bad cops you are spitting in the face of the good ones. The fact you think police have the right to murder unarmed people is beyond sick and twisted. It's pure evil.
-
"To serve and protect." It's a quote that modern NA cops seem to have forgotten. Thankfully, my brief encounters with the coppers have been civilzied on both parts... it seems I'm one of the lucky ones.
-
"And all three of them would deserve it! Actually they'd probably taze them nowadays. Seriously, you are a moron if you get into a physical altercation with a cop. Darwin Award material." People who blindly defend cops liek they are angels or they should be the ultimate arbitrers of who should be killed are prime darwin example. Using your logic is stupid. In a fist fight, if the one of the guys brings a guns and shoots the other they are charged with murder but you seem to feel that is acceptable decision making by cops? Someone tries to punch them and they have the right to murder them? HAHAHA! Don't you see how evil, brainwashed, retarded, and backwards that is/ Police should be enforcing laws NOT breaking them. Stop living in Jugde Dredd fantasy.

Bullock is solid, but her co star in that one is so overrated. I tried watching her sitcom and I had to quit after a few epis b/c of her.

World War Z - Terrifically acted for a blockbuster standards. Brad Pitt was fantastic. Some of the big set scenes were very good. I do wish the ending sequence was a little more epic. 8/10

Detention: Weird but entertaining. 7/10

"I don't go read/see Superman to watch people get turned into a red mist by punches. Superman isn't "dark" and "Moody" and doesn't need to have the arch of "this is why he's a hero!" L0L Even in the Reeves movies, he got dark, moody, AND emo at times. Plus, he has killed. Anyways, enough of the 'waaa it's not 'my' superman from decades ago' bullcrap.... White House Down - This is a much better movie than I expected considering another moivi with the same plot (which i didn't see) came out not long ago. The leads did a good job; but the secondary characters were fantastic and went to places I kinda was surprised at. The final 'twist' was predictable and unneeded though. Reviews bashed it for having 'jokes that ruin the action'. No such thing happened. 8/10

This was a Superman movie. Boo hoo. It wans't a carbon copy of Christopher Reeve's Superman. Boo hoo. Remakes shouldn't be carbon copies and if they are just stick with the original (even though Reeves isn't the original either).

Jagr is one of my faves but had Bruins won they'd have done so in spite of not because of him.

"Kobe has some legacy issues as well, such as basically saying he'll only play for LA and whatnot (despite being an 18 year old at the draft). That never really sat well with me (nor does a lot of the "I want out from my team... but only to LA or NYC!" that a lot of players go through)." That doesn't hurt his legacy at all. Unless youa re a crybaby who believe players should just be highly paid servants who should have no free will. they should ahve the right to work where they want. Period.

So Undercover - Why did I watch this? i dunno. Paint by the numbers. Mostly entertaining but nothing earthshattering. It seemed to take itself a little more seriously than i thought it would. 6.5/10

"is a very smart offensive player." nah. His strategy is throw the ball at the absket and hope it falls in. That's why he'll often have games where he has over 30 shots even though he isn't shooting well. He doesn't care if it hurts the team as Kobe is all about Kobe. Always has been always will be. Of course, he's one of the best players ever so there's that. But, very smart? L0LZ

"Championships are important to LBJ's legacy because he went to the Heat. If he stayed with his home town and was surrounded by average talent, then he'd get more of a pass on those." Are you kidding me? Did you not watch the last two or three seasons in Cleveland? He was absolutely crucified for not winning a championship there. Lebron winning 10 championships won't stop the morans from bashing him. "Though if James had Kobe's determination I'd probably put him above Jordan :p" James has as much determination as either of those players. It's why he was able to imrpove his entire game. It's why he was able to beat the Spurs in game 7 with his 'weak' point of jump shooting. Most people will give up after the horrible way he's been smeared. You don't get to his (or Jordan or Kobe's) level by having a lack of dtermination. It's ridiculous to think he has none. "What is it with you hockey people and NBA bashing, I wonder. Been seeing a lot of that lately." Many hockey fans are Kanadians and most Kanadians are bigots who loathe anything that can be seen as 'non Kanadian'. Thankfully, I am enlightened enoguh to see the beauty in both hockey and basketball.

"Further, it's not stealing" Yes, it is. "Basketball players pretend they're hurt. Hockey players pretend they're not." HAHAHAHA! hahahaha! HAHAHAHA! "Only in Volo's trollo land is the team with the best record in the league, and the one with home court advantage, not be considered the favourite." "I don't even really watch the NBA anymore and I still know this stuff" It is obvious you don't watch. All that was said throughout that Indiana series was that theyw ere too big, too deep, too strong, too defensive for Miami to beat. People keep baning on the drums that 'Miamia has no heart, no drive, no will to win'. It was 10x worse versus the Spurs. At best, Miami wass the 'technical default favorite' but most of the so called experts, media, and 'know it all fans'; all believe Miami would lose. Jordan was a flopper. And, flopping was/is not new just like diving is not a new phenomenon in hockey. LONG LIVE LEBRONNNNNNNNNNNN JAMESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!

Flopping has always been common. It has always happened. People just cry about it more now. I'll worry about flopping when the league actually comes down hard on players who are trying to hurt opponents. That's why a guy like Lebron even thinks about flopping - his opponents literlaly mug him and don't get called for fouls because he'ss trong and he can go through contact. CALL ACTUAL FOULS REF AND PLAYERS WON'T HAVE TO EXAGGERATE CONTACT SO YOU CAN NOTICE THERE BE CONTACT! It's patehtic to steal players' money for 'flopping' but the league won't enccessarily steal a players' money for injuring an opponent. LMAO Oh, and that indiana guy can cry like a little baby all he wants... HE GOT ELIMINATED TWO SEASONS IN A ROW BY THE BEST PLAYER EVER DESPITE BEING THE SO CALLED 'FAVORITES'. Long live Lebronnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Jamessssssssssssssssss !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
